At the recent RNC Trump said his friend has just given him a cheque for one million dollars to benefit those injured during the assassination attempt. Going by past experience there is a 50/50 chance that won't make it to the intended destination. Trump was injured too after all and he really deserves that million dollars. No one deserves that million dollars more than Trump.

Republicans continuing the goal of hiring only the brightest and best :(

The GuardianJudge who dismissed Trump criminal case is ‘future supreme court justice’, Gaetz says

The far-right Florida Republican Matt Gaetz has hailed Aileen Cannon – the judge who dismissed the classified documents case against Donald Trump – as a “future supreme court justice”.

Florida judge dismisses criminal classified documents case against Trump

“Future supreme court justice Cannon,” Gaetz posted Monday to social media, with a picture of the Florida jurist.

In four years as president, Trump nominated three hardline rightwingers to the supreme court. Tilted 6-3 to the right, the court has delighted conservatives and enraged liberals by handing down epochal rulings against abortion, restricting gun control, granting presidential immunity and more.

Trump nominated Cannon to the federal bench in November 2020, at the end of his time in power.
...
Cannon was randomly assigned to Trump’s federal documents case, in which the special counsel Jack Smith brought 40 charges related to improper retention of classified information.

The judge was widely criticised for perceived partiality to Trump, as she repeatedly delayed proceedings. Ultimately, on Monday, she threw the case out, ruling Smith improperly appointed.

The decision seemed destined for appeal. The case could also potentially be refiled and handed to a different judge. Nonetheless, Trump supporters celebrated.

Gaetz tweeted: “CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS CASE DISMISSED!!!!!!”

At his latest rally Trump stated that 'he took a bullet for democracy'.

No Donald. That would have been true if it was between the eyes.

Trump took a bullet because

  • Republicans normalizes gun ownership

  • the kid's "cool dad" gifted his son an assault style rifle

  • getting mental health care in the US is something most can't afford

  • but mostly Trump was in the wrong place at the wrong time, just a conventionally close celebrity
If anyone famous happen to be in the area the day before, they would have probably been killed.

Trump, don’t wrestle with a pig because the pig just likes it and you end up covered in shit.

The Heritage Foundation's 2025 Song
"We Don't Think We'll Have to Kill You"

In 2025, if Trump’s elected, we got plans!
We’ll transform America to be more like Afghanistan.
We’ll put head scarves on the women,
prosecute those who are gay
‘cuz the Heritage folks know
that is the REAL American way!

kingdragonfly: Trump took a bullet because

also you left off the bit about Republicns violent Rhetoric over the last 4 years, intensifying, the list is long, but Trump mocking Pelosi's partner who maga thugs took to, is truly low life material. He just encourages it, which is in his mind his legal defense "I did nothing"

How ironic a registered repub was the one to try and take him out.

I just hope this NY "hush money" case sticks and he gets minimum home detention. Of course he can appeal to SCOTUS, but hopefully the left leaning Justices will drag the appeal out :-)

Since Biden has pulled out of race, Trump said he will not debate Kamala Harris, because he's too scared of being beat by a woman.

"My debate with Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the history of the United States, was slated to be broadcast on Fake News ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, sometime in September," Trump posted. "Now that Joe has, not surprisingly, has quit the race, I think the Debate, with whomever the Radical Left Democrats choose, should be held on FoxNews, rather than very biased ABC."

RNZ: US President Joe Biden pulls out of election race

Donations to the US Democratic Party's election campaign have surged on the back of the news President Biden will step aside and support his VP Kamala Harris to run for president.

Harris was endorsed by Biden as he announced his withdrawal from the 2024 election campaign.

Aw diddums, poor Donald. So scared of being shown up by a woman. Is he really that insecure?

So much so, he gave her money previously 😀

Well Trump is the expert on fraud. Contrarily he's amazingly inept at paying bills and reimbursements

The New Republic leans left, and is considered high quality.

The New Republic: Trump’s Alarming New Rant Praising Dictators Shows Media Is Failing Us

At a rally in Michigan over the weekend, Donald Trump uncorked one of his longest rants ever in praise of the world’s autocrats, strongmen, and dictators. He hailed Xi Jinping of China as “brilliant” for controlling 1.4 billion people “with an iron fist,” and described Xi, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and Hungary’s Viktor Orbán as “tough” and “smart.” We talked to Rick Wilson, the prominent Never Trumper and Substacker, about Trump’s explicit campaign promise of authoritarian rule, the GOP’s enthusiastic embrace of it, and the media’s utter failure to alert voters to what’s coming. Listen to this episode here.

The Guardian: Secret Service chief berated in House hearing after Trump rally shooting
...
Raskin, the Democratic ranking member of the oversight committee, agreed with calls for accountability at the Secret Service while adding that lawmakers must reckon with the broader problem of gun violence in the US. He noted that the Trump campaign rally attack was not even the deadliest shooting on 13 July, as four people were killed later that day after a gunman opened fire at an Alabama night club.

“What happened in Butler, Pennsylvania, was a double failure: the failure by the Secret Service to properly protect Donald Trump and the failure of Congress to properly protect our people from criminal gun violence,” Raskin said. “We must, therefore, also ask hard questions about whether our laws are making it too easy for potential assassins and criminals to obtain firearms generally and AR-15 assault weapons specifically.”

With Republicans in control of the House, it seems unlikely that a gun safety bill will pass Congress anytime soon. And after Cheatle’s performance on Monday, it seems even less likely that she will be able to hold on to her job for much longer.
