Watching Trump's appeal to christians actually nauseated me. It is inconceivable that any normal christian, even conservative fundamentalists, would fall for such a smarmy transparently insincere slobbery approach. Some christians may well believe Adam rode a dinosaur, but even they aren't so stupid as to fall for such obvious yucky snake oil bullshit. This makes Trump's attempt to have intercourse with the flag seem high-minded and tasteful by comparison.

It's not like he took 50% of the Black vote in 2020 or anything - this Wikipedia table shows exit polling:

(Blue is for Biden, Red is for Trump, Green is total percentage of the electorate)

No, the concern is for Kamala to make up the major short fall in white male voters, she needs to do what Barrack did in 08 and get 95% black male voters, currently she is at 85% they think, or get that VP Mark Kelly (assuming of course) telling all the blokes he will have special 30 minute post rally Astronaut talks ;-p.

Yes, Adam Mockler is very good. His short on-the-street interviews with the MAGA crowd are quite interesting, he just asks them simple, basic questions along the lines of why they adore the orange buffoon so much and they get absolutely flustered and can't answer him. Worse still their answers (for those who don't get angry) make no sense half the time.

Thats the guy, sorry I deleted trying to create a short cut for YT vids on my KB. But Im sure that video not hard to find on YT. It is vile when you add everything together in his video and yet thats leaving out the criminal DT stuff. I doubt surely moderate Christians like Biden are down for all of this. But it is Trumpville. Good news re all the new Kamala volunteers in Florida.

Kamala has a plethora of Trump hate speech to use for her campaign ads.

Supposedly we will hear more about Biden's plans for making the SCOTUS more fair and less corruptible next week.

Oh just fresh of the press Politico piece.

New polls show a reset 2024 race, and other takeaways - POLITICO

  • Harris has pretty much evened the field in 5 days.

  • Harris has started to Rebuild a more traditional democratic coalition
  • Harris is not limited to the rust belt, she also has good options in the Sun belt (get me some astronaut yee-ha

  • Unfortunately Trumps approvals is pretty much the same, which has never been higher, but if hes defaming her go to town Kamala

  • RFK is dropping Fast, Trumps planted other running mate, not so popular now at 4%.

Worth a read if I got some of that wrong or missed anything.

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/523393/kamala-harris-and-donald-trump-trade-barbs-from-afar

The former president's speech - suffused with familiar grievances and false claims about election fraud - made clear that his short-lived call for unity following the attempt on his life two weeks ago had dissipated altogether.

"I want to be nice. They all say, 'I think he's changed,' Trump said. "No, I haven't changed. Maybe I've gotten worse."

Yes, yes.

latest Ipsos poll by abc news July 26-27 favorable/unfavorable poll

Trump has plummeted to 36%/52% +16 in the red.

Vance 24%/39% with a big up swing in unfavorable

Harris has leaped to 43%/42% unheard of in recent times for somebody both more favorable than unfavorable and for a leader (discounting Biden as Pres) to be under 50% unfavorable.

No doubt Harris has a lot to do with suddenly being seen. Vance, well the same but his flip flop ethics maybe shining through and Trump low favorable, has to be a sum of things but spelling out his plan to remove peoples freedom to vote might be a big bit?

I wonder just how many believe the witch hnt rubbish by "dem run" court now?

I also wonder given Trumps remarks about only having to vote on more time, it will be fixed afterward (paraphrase), will see whatever Biden unveils this week re his work on SCOTUS fairness and corruptibility measures as a positive thing?

I think Harris has given something for everybody to have a good feel about including the "Republican voters against Trump", who have some pretty serious anti trump campaigning of their own going on.

When I listen to people from the Centre Left and Centre Right, they do not sound that different, vs the polar opposite of Maga Trump vs a moderate left.

Trump the has-been.

I can imagine Trump saying this:

"You remember that time when I was almost assassinated? No one was almost assassinated as good as me. Only it was a republican kid. I'd love to get almost assassinated again.

Hear my pitch for a reality TV show. The best reality TV show. I pick an assassin, white men need not apply, maybe a Mexican, a socialist, black lives matter Antifa, a refugee, an atheist, who's a bad shot, couldn't hit the side of a barn. The winner, who I'd pick, tries to almost assassinate me"

CBS News: Donald Trump says he's returning to Butler for a rally after attempted assassination

Former President Donald Trump says he is returning to Butler County for a rally after he survived an assassination attempt earlier this month.

Preferred surprise finale: The winner fails to assassinate Trump, missing the headshot but managing to pop one into each fat buttock. Scared shitless, Trump flees to Moscow and receives a lifetime Putin appointment to supervise a Siberian gulag.

This article title makes it sounds like it's all about Biden, but throughout Trump is mentioned.

The "you can't be serious" line: Donald Trump posted Monday on Truth Social: “We have to fight for our Fair and Independent Courts, and protect our Country.”

Washington Post: Biden blasts Supreme Court and proposes major changes

President Biden deliveedr a sweeping indictment of the U.S. Supreme Court, calling its rulings “dangerous,” its ethics code “weak” and its practices in desperate need of reform.
...
He proposed several sweeping changes to the Supreme Court, including 18-year term limits for the justices and a binding, enforceable ethics code.

“On top of its extreme decisions, the court is mired in a crisis of ethics,” Biden said. “These scandals involving the justices have caused public opinion to question the court’s fairness and independence that are essential to faithfully carrying out its mission. The Supreme Court’s current ethics code is weak and, even more frightening, voluntary.”

It was an extraordinary critique of the nation’s top judicial body, especially given Biden’s long-standing faith in American institutions. Conservatives argue that proposals like Biden’s stem from a dislike of the court’s recent rulings, not a genuine desire for reform. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump posted Monday on Truth Social: “We have to fight for our Fair and Independent Courts, and protect our Country.”

Biden also called for a constitutional amendment that would prohibit blanket immunity for presidents, a rebuke of the Supreme Court after it ruled this month that Trump is broadly immune from prosecution for official acts. He called the decision a “dangerous precedent.”
...
After the addition of three justices nominated by Trump, the court has veered sharply to the right — overturning Roe v. Wade, ending affirmative action in college admissions and weakening federal agencies’ power by overturning a 40-year decision. The conservative majority also invalidated Biden’s student-loan forgiveness program.
...
Biden’s proposed constitutional amendment, which the president is calling the “No One Is Above the Law Amendment,” states that the “Constitution does not confer any immunity from federal criminal indictment, trial, conviction, or sentencing by virtue of previously serving as president.”

It's an indictment of the US system that Biden's SC changes are hardly earth shattering but they still stand zero chance of being implemented.

Regarding Project 2025. Is there no law that can be used to suppress sedition?

Anti Sedition Laws...

Problem is that the middle and left are not likely to go this way, so are at a disadvantage.
Giving the maximum leeway for free speech, I didn't really mean it, joking etc.
Practicing for your insurrection, that was just some cosplay.

The autocratic have a big advantage of not being so reluctant, prepared to suppress opposition with force if money can't do it.
Probably disappointed they could not have trial by combat, as long as they can pick an overpowered champion.

Like Musk, Thiel, etc its all absolutist with speech, until it goes against them.
The greater good that objectivists will trot out that money, power, natural selection must have its way.
Trump that talks regularly of trials and Death Penalties.

Supreme court has already green lighted they are ok with being generous to the autocratic.
Middle/left appealing to them is not going to help.

Is freedom for the Musk and Murdoch to drown out others speech with 'alternative facts' really free?

To play Devil's Advocate for a moment:
Exercise IS bad. You only get so many heartbeats allocated at birth and if you use them all up too early, you'll die young.
That's my theory and I'm sticking with the Orange Guy on this.
I have also passed a dementia test and so therefore am also a certified genius.
I remember the revolutionary soldiers taking the airports. It was glorious. It was great. It was good. It was the best ever.
