freitasm: They must have a babel fish to translate that load of gibberish.

It's not deliberate but it actually works in his favour because his devotees get to interpret whatever works for them into it, in the same way that MAGA works very well because everyone has a different idea of when and how America was "great".  If he went into specifics he'd lose a lot of his audience once they realised his idea of X is very different from their idea of X.

Trump financial gibberish :

The NY Times - Donald Trump on the Dollar, in His Own Words

09 Sep 2024

On Saturday, at a rally in Wisconsin, Donald Trump said some bizarre and potentially damaging stuff about economic policy. ....

First, he proclaimed his own infallibility: “Trump is always right. ... I’m always right.” ...

"Our cities are a mess, and they are very dangerous places. We’re going to make them safe, clean and beautiful again, and we will keep the dollar as the world’s reserve currency, and it is currently under major siege. Many countries are leaving the dollar. You’re not going to leave the dollar with me. I’ll say, 'You leave the dollar, you’re not doing business with the United States, because we’re going to put 100 percent tariff on your goods, sir. We would like very much to get back to the dollar immediately. Thank you very much.' It’s so easy." ...

If these suggestions sound absurd, that’s because they are.

Trump’s bellicose word salad is hard to actually parse, but broadly speaking, any notion that America could use the threat of tariffs to force countries to keep using the dollar involves more than a bit of megalomania. Our nation has a lot of economic power but not that much.

That's right, weirdly he loves talking about himself in the third person (for some reason) 🤔

Lots of MAGA, uh, "interpretations" going on here too:

The skin atrophy is this condition involves the thinning of the skin layers, particularly the epidermis and dermis. It is often associated with aging, prolonged use of corticosteroids, and certain medical conditions.

Uniquely Trump was born with thin skin.

Also around 9 months old his lack of empathy, unrealistic self-importance, and difficulty with relationships and the inability to follow simple instructions began to manifest.

In other words Trump was at the pinnacle of American boomers development

Rolling Stone: What If Trump Wins?
...
Trump’s enemy list continues to grow, including prosecutors who’ve brought criminal and civil charges against him. Indeed, lawyers close to Trump and his inner circle have spent more than a year researching obscure elements of the criminal code, seeking novel ways to criminally charge such officials in retaliation.

There’s no nemesis too small. The tally even includes late-night comics who’ve pissed him off. As president, Trump briefly attempted to get Justice officials to twist campaign finance laws and the federal equal-time rule to declare that anti-Trump material broadcast by Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and others was somehow illegal. During his 2024 campaign, according to a source with direct knowledge, Trump has raised this topic again, venting about the need to punish late-night comedians for giving “illegal” campaign contributions to the Democratic Party — in the form of jokes and on-air satire.

Will be interesting to see if Mr Trump can contain himself sufficiently during the debate, to not do himself any more harm.

His hatred of Kamala Harris might push him to use slurs or abusive language, which would be very interesting and damaging for his "I'm the best, most stable president ever" persona.

If I was Harris I'd wait for the opportune moment and use the same sentence he used against Biden.

Namely 'I have no idea what that sentence means'.

He's bound to provide her with the appropriate ammunition.

Mics will be muted while it isn't his turn to speak so he will have much less time to lose the plot.

Re the debate, it's just occurred to me that for the first time, Kamala will have a captive MAGA audience who have maybe never heard her speak.

Also, in these days of technological marvels, is it possible that Trump might wear a tiny in-ear receiver to get prompts from his sidekicks?

Would there be any point? Trump is famous for ignoring briefings and flying on instinct.

He can conceal it under the comically oversized bandage on his ear.

The comically oversized bandage? Oh, you mean the fake yellow hair. Well, I guess we'll know if he's wired when he starts using complete sentences.

I was thinking the dead mics on the non-camera speaker could work well for Harris - she could needle him and goad him with actual facts and common sense, which would incense him if he's trying to speak and make up nonsemse.

I'm strangely engaged with this one - I think it'll be interesting. Very interesting.

Still hopeful she will preface every answer with 'Thanks, that's a great question, but before I answer it I just want to remind everyone that Donald Trump is an adjudicated rapist who owes $100M to a woman he assaulted and hung out with convicted child molesters, owes nearly $500M for fraud, awaits sentencing on 34 criminal convictions, and faces at least three other criminal cases including insurrection and theft of our nuclear war plans. But anyway, the economy...'
