So only 1.5% of the "gems" are diamonds and they'll be tiny lab-grown ones, topped off with solid gold... plating.  Yup, that's Trump through and through.

Even then there's some scam there, googling the price of even a tiny 0.1 carat VS1 diamond that'd make them worth about as much as the whole watch.  Maybe in this case "VS" stands for "very shiny".

Edited to add: 0.05 carats at VS1 are around USD30 and 0.02 carats USD10, that's 0.01 and 0.004 grams.  So it could be correct, add eight $10 diamonds and you've got your pretend bling.

No doubt made in China. Better get in quick before those tarriffs are applied.

is that the Doomsday clock?

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Do cheap Quartz beads class as Gemstones ?

What is the Greenland thing possibly about.

Its a  venal appeal to Trump and Family get via their Russian contacts.
These contacts are broader than many think as there are Oligarch links in Trumps Rich circle,
and the new Techbro circle.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidjeans/2024/08/20/8vc-russian-oligarchs/#:~:text=V%20enture%20capital%20firm%208VC%2C%20which%20has%20invested,the%20proximity%20of%20foreign%20adversaries%20to%20Silicon%20Valley.

"" Elon ( Would be an Oligarch ) Musk's bro Peter Thiel
Venture capital firm 8VC, which has invested in U.S. defense contractors like Palantir and Anduril, employs two children of sanctioned Russian oligarchs, Forbes has learned, at a time when the U.S. government is increasingly concerned about the proximity of foreign adversaries to Silicon Valley.
""

Its Putin building an argument for Trump to give him what he wants.

We are the same , you want Greenland, by force if necessary, we want Ukraine.
Mutual greed disguised as security.
(Trump too short sighted to care if Georgia, rest of Moldova, Baltics etc may follow )

Peter Thiel's argument that Democracy is overrated is convenient for Trumps 3rd ( 2nd consecutive :-) term or Jr's on his behalf.

Putin's argument delivered by those around Trump.
See we have same blocking our ambition.
Its EU, NATO, that want to foil you, Putin has his hand out ready to help.

Like Lex says , Putin loves his people, the Powerful and Oligarchy, and that is you Mr Trump.

The NY Times - Supreme Court Denies Trump’s Last-Ditch Effort to Avoid Sentencing

breaking

After the court declined in a 5-to-4 decision to block Donald J. Trump’s criminal sentencing, he is scheduled to face a New York judge on Friday morning. ...

In a brief unsigned order, a five-justice majority noted that Mr. Trump was not facing jail time and that he could still challenge his conviction “in the ordinary course on appeal.” ...

Four of the court’s conservative justices - Clarence Thomas, Samuel A. Alito Jr., Neil M. Gorsuch and Brett M. Kavanaugh - noted dissents without providing reasons.

The NY Times - Supreme Court Denies Trump’s Last-Ditch Effort to Avoid Sentencing

breaking<

Trump has already tried to slither away, but that doesn't stop him from filing frivolous cases, doomed to fail. Only poor and powerless people can be declared as vexation litigants. There's a different set of laws for entitled rich.

In Trump v. Vance (2020) New York District Attorney subpoenaed financial and tax records from Donald Trump's accounting firm as part of a state-level criminal investigation into potential financial misconduct before Trump became president.

Trump argued that a sitting president is immune from state criminal investigations while in office, citing the potential disruption such investigations could cause to presidential duties.

In a 7–2 decision, the Court ruled that no citizen, including the President, is above the law.

Unrelated to Trump's criminal problems, Trump cannot avoid civil cases either.

Clinton v. Jones (1997): This U.S. Supreme Court case addressed whether a sitting president has immunity from civil litigation for acts done before taking office and unrelated to the presidential duties.

Paula Jones filed a lawsuit against President Bill Clinton, alleging sexual harassment that occurred while he was Governor of Arkansas, before he became President.

Clinton argued that the lawsuit should be deferred until he was out of office, claiming immunity from such lawsuits while serving as president to avoid distractions from his duties.

The supreme court said "nope. Clinton was not above the law".

Trump is not immune from either criminal or civil cases for actions taken when he wasn't president.

In 1997, Clinton did not "own" the Supreme Court.

In 2025, Trump already "owns" the Supreme Court.

Trump is a totally amoral Narcissist, and is becoming increasingly dis-inhibited with progressing dementia (like his father before him, at the same advanced age).

God Help America. (and the rest of the world)  😟

From my count, of 5 cases where Trump did get to the Supreme court, Trump won 3 and lost 2.

The worst loss for democracy was when the Court ruled that Trump could not be disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

With the exceptions of Supreme court "justices" Clarence Thomas, who's always looking for some shady gifts, and Brett Kavanaugh, who's always looking for free beer, I'd hope it's a "what have you done for me lately" relationship.

14th Amendment Disqualification Decision Saves Trump but Damages the Supreme Court: The Verdict

...Princeton historian Sean Wilentz says that in their “dissenting-concurrence,” Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson agreed with their colleagues that Trump should not be disqualified “while demolishing the majority’s main argument.”

Wilentz calls the Court to account for what he labels the “brazenness with which the majority exercised its power to reach a decision in flagrant contradiction of the Constitution’s plain meaning.” The fact that it did so on such an important case, in his view, “only underscores how corrupt the Court’s majority has become.”

Google, Microsoft, Meta, Apple: Here’s a list of Big Tech companies donating millions to the Trump inauguration: Fast Company

Google and Microsoft are the latest tech companies to donate $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund.

Google, which will also livestream the swearing-in on YouTube on January 20, and Microsoft join Apple, Meta, Amazon, OpenAI, and other tech giants who are trying to blatantly curry favor with the incoming Trump administration by donating to the inauguration. The effort is especially unsurprising given Trump’s long history of favoritism—plus threats to punish his enemies. (Currently, Meta, Apple, Amazon, and Google parent Alphabet are all facing antitrust lawsuits from the federal government.)

There is a Supreme Court Judge with some significant health issues.
https://www.npr.org/2024/04/05/1242977819/whats-behind-the-calls-for-supreme-court-justice-sotomayor-to-step-down

So Trump may get at least one opportunity to stack the court further ?
