Nothing about lowering grocery prices then? But renaming the Gulf of Mexico or a mountain? Absolute, top-shelf, grade A priority 🙄

Donald Trump Jr. parody conversation

"Hey daddy [snorting nose covered in cocaine]. Someone dared me to outdo the movie "Idiocracy". How about I become an advisor to a gambling web site that, get this, bets on your decisions! Game fixing, throwing a game, point shaving, or rigging: whatever you call it, it's easy money. And it's legal! How dumb is that!"

Trump Jr. joins betting market Kalshi as adviser: The Hill

Donald Trump Jr. announced Monday he is joining Kalshi, a prediction market that allows users to bet on political developments, as a strategic adviser.

“On Election night at Mar-a-Lago, while biased outlets called the race a coin toss, my family and close friends used the prediction market @Kalshi to know we won hours ahead of the fake news media,” Trump Jr. wrote in a post on the social platform X.

Trump Jr. advises his father, President-elect Trump, and is influential within the MAGA movement.

“I immediately knew I had to contribute to their mission. Today, I am proud to announce that I am joining Kalshi as a strategic advisor,” Trump Jr. posted, quipping that it was time to bet on “whether Biden is going to pardon Fauci and Liz Cheney.”
...
On Monday, Kalshi offered bettors the opportunity to wager on how many executive orders Trump might issue on his first day in office, whether President Biden would issue preemptive pardons, or how many senators would vote to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence.

“President Trump says he has pardoned the founder of Silk Road, the world’s first dark-web drug market. Ross Ulbricht had been sentenced to life in prison and has been behind bars for more than a decade. At Ulbricht’s sentencing, family members of those who died while using drugs purchased on Silk Road delivered victim impact statements.”

You think that menace cares about victims? All he cares about is letting the worst of society back into it. I swear he's doing it to stir up fear so that he can tighten his authoritarian grip.

Dictator on day one? I'm pretty sure he intends to be a dictator for the rest of his life. Him, and his Project 2025 backers. Margaret Attwood must be aghast at seeing her book used as an instruction manual.

Trump's Executive order stating there are only two sexes has these two specific definitions:

(d) “Female” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.

(e) “Male” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell.

A paper published on the National Library of Medicine An official US government website, has this interesting titbit:

..."During early development the gonads of the fetus remain undifferentiated; that is, all fetal genitalia are the same and are phenotypically female. After approximately 6 to 7 weeks of gestation, however, the expression of a gene on the Y chromosome induces changes that result in the development of the testes....

I'm no biologist, but that reads to me like we're all female until 6 to 7 weeks of gestation. Trump has decreed that sex is to be taken as at conception (not sure how you're actually going to test at that exact point, but anyway...), so I'd argue that, under his regime, every single person in the US is legally female.

Looks like he has, in a typical piece of ignorant stupidity, taken on the harder-to-defend case of targeting biological sex rather than gender as a social construct.  There's a whole pile of different conditions collected under the general term intersex which don't fit either of the above, or fit both of the above.

I'm not a biologist, but even I can spot the, frankly stupid, scientific flaw with this definition.

They obviously picked up the "person belonging, at conception" from a believer in Noah's ark and not a healer of nature's spark.

A single cell literally doesn't have balls. Really I think they're spreading the slang of "babies having babies" impossibly thin.

It's the same as saying: a house is a building, made of a forest and an oil reserve, that produces small meals. A restaurant is a building, made of a forest and an oil reserve, that produces big meals.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/why-trump-could-regret-jan-100000706.html

For starters, Trump’s blanket pardon is unpopular, and it could help to frame early perceptions of his return to the White House. After the election, multiple polls reported that somewhere around two-thirds of Americans opposed Trump’s promise to pardon the Jan. 6 defendants, including about two-thirds of independents.

I hope those totally unnecessary pardons hang like an albatross around his neck for the rest of his presidency!

The midterms next year are going to be interesting.

Trump's pick to run the DOJ really, really doesn't want to talk about the January 6 losers now. Maybe a few questions should be asked like the ones in here?

Also: these judges are someone to aspire to be like (as opposed to someone like the orange buffoon):

She's right, they will forever be "poor losers", as they deserve to be called, because that's exactly what they are!

Trump: "How dare a bishop brings up Jesus teachings in Church. For Christ sake, I wrote and sold the best selling God-damn Bible. Me. Alone.

No one knows more about Jesus H Christ than me. Christ's middle name was "hammer" by the way, because he was a carpenter. Betcha the communist Bishop doesn't know that, because she hasn't read my Bible."

Where's the Constitution? White House says website will bring it back soon.: USA Today

When President Donald Trump's team took over the White House website this week, it made quick work of taking down web pages that featured the country's founding documents and espoused the views of the previous administration.

A silhouette of Trump and a bold-faced "AMERICA IS BACK" message appeared on the homepage. New links to presidential statements and remarks appeared along with the text of a mountain of newly signed executive orders.

But what was missing from the revamped White House website was nearly as noticeable to frequent visitors: pages explaining the Constitution and Bill of Rights, promoting tourism, equity, internships and information about former American presidents of both political parties.

The NY Times - Trump’s Order to Restrict Birthright Citizenship ‘Blatantly Unconstitutional,’ Judge Says

breaking

A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked President Trump’s executive order to end automatic citizenship to babies born on American soil, dealing the president his first setback as he attempts to upend the nation’s immigration laws and reverse decades of precedent.

In a hearing held three days after Mr. Trump issued his executive order, a Federal District Court judge, John C. Coughenour, sided at least for the moment with four states that sued. “This is a blatantly unconstitutional order,” he said.

Frankly,” he continued, challenging Trump administration lawyers, “I have difficulty understanding how a member of the bar would state unequivocally that this is a constitutional order. It just boggles my mind.”
