neb:Which is going to cause a clbuttic dumpster fire as they delete pages talking about things like privilege-escalation attacks and equality comparisons in ACLs and similar.

I love the word but I can't find a translation. Is it like covfefe?

Yeah, clbuttic is to sandwiches what covfefe is to flat whites or hamburder is to McDonalds.

EDIT. Oops. I read the word as CIBUTTIC instead of CLBUTTIC. That enabled me to find:

-------------------------------------------------------

AI Overview "Clbuttic" is a humorous term that means "classic". It's used to refer to an instance of the ...thorpe problem, which is a content filtering issue.    Explanation The term "clbuttic" is created by replacing the word "ass" with "butt" in the word "classic". For example, "clbuttic" is used in place of "classic".      The ....thorpe problem occurs when a word or phrase is mistakenly blocked or flagged as inappropriate. This can happen when a substring with offensive meaning is present unintentionally.      The term "clbuttic mistake" is used online to humorously point out instances of the ....thorpe problem. ------------------------------------------------------- LOL. Something new everyday :-)

Unsuccessfully tried posting this six times until I realized the rejection was because of the 'Scun' thing. OK now. Clbuttic Clbuttic Clbuttic Clbuttic :-0

Now I can say there's no way that Donald Cutrumpnt could ever be described as clbutty.

The Conversation - NZ depends on the rules-based world Trump is dismantling – why the silence?

14 Feb 2025

This is about here and now.

The opening para:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ 2023 strategic foreign policy assessment, “Navigating a shifting world”, accurately foresaw a more uncertain and complex time ahead for New Zealand. But already it feels out of date.

The Trump administration’s extreme disruption of the international order (which New Zealand helped construct) is going further and faster than foreseen in the assessment. Were another nation responsible, the government would have been quick to condemn it.

But New Zealand has so far been largely mute ...

New Zealand has been largely mute for similar reason the small and vulnerable hobbits did not draw the attention of eye of Sauron.

We lack the power to oppose America, and go toe to toe.
Gun totin Trumpicans call these targets.

Already we will be begging for a tariff deal for our exports.
Compounded now Trump is looking to VAT as a 'hostile tariff' and we have GST putting us inline for punishment already.

Could be a message for NZ as well.
UK at risk of £24bn tariffs as Trump targets VAT

Then you have a Government that is more Trump/Bro aligned anyway National - ACT, got about 10x more money to fight the election than Labour.
ACT are just salivating at doing an Elon to Government departments and going fully private 'pay or die' Healthcare.
While we may have thought that the EOL Bill was for more noble reasons.
It would give an out if you can't afford care and suffering.

The world needs to cut this muppet off at the knees. Sanction the US; export nothing to them. It'll only take a couple of months of no imports for prices to skyrocket so high that the well regulated militia will be breaking down the gates of the Capitol for real, and then they can have a national good hard think about what they've done and reset the system.

Everything New Zealand produces is already locally sourced in America. The exception is Manuka Honey.

There’s nothing that NZ exports that would cripple the U.S. if suddenly unavailable. However, certain luxury food products (grass-fed meat, wine, and Mānuka honey) would become harder to find or more expensive.

Let's say that the US closes its border completely.

The U.S. is one of the world's largest agricultural producers, producing far more food than it consumes. It would be blander but possible in the short term.

They'd miss Canada very quickly. The US depends on imported fertilizer components. especially potash. 90% comes from Canada. There would be severe problems in as little as two years. Within 5 years they'd be in seriously trouble.

Contrary to what most believe, without Canada, the US would struggle to cope with being self-sufficient in refined petroleum. American refining capacity is specialized for heavy crude oil of which it produces very little. Most of what America needs is light crude, a lot of it Canadian. Given time and billions of dollars the US refineries could painfully convert. The reasons Americans haven't done it before is because why spend money on expensive refinery conversions when there is cheap imports, and profitable exports?

They'd miss Mexico very quickly. Much of the agricultural system relies on migrant labor, mostly from Mexico. Perhaps all the workers displaced by AI could return to picking cotton by hand in the hot Alabama days.

So while we Kiwis can't make America change its way, Canada and Mexico can.

Oh its up to big dogs to do the hard yards here, we will mainly 'be like water'.
Americans had their chance, stayed home as alternative was 'better' but not 'perfect'.

You can see with Trump being so nice to Putin offering gifts of quick sanction/tariff relief.
Meanwhile for allies.
Putin has the plan down, get the 'would be Oligarchs' and Evangelicals to isolate Trump.
Putin is the the true friend that understands him, they won't let you have Greenland, even that tiny Gaza.
Putin just wants Russian Imperial / Soviet lands, you can have Canada, Greenland, Gaza.
Melania's Slovenia is awaiting the return of the old guard.

Those around Trump especially Elon Musk and friends find Putin's Oligarch Kleptocracy ideal Government.
Evangelicals see the ROC as more like the 'Non Woke' Church of old testament, so brothers.
Jesus we use his name but don't pay attention to that woke stuff.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare , gets a double whammy as it has a Mexico factory.
Plus its a NZ company, though Mexico seems to be popular medical devices MFG location for USA.

Its not like CPAP machines and humidifiers for respirators is an essential need for Americans.

Trump is just looking to find more distracting things for Americans to hate while he robs them.
If he makes Americans more miserable and grocery prices skyrocket they will get more hateful .
Like Mr H give them an 'other' who is to blame for everything to Hate. Mussolini also, Stalin similarly.

No shortage of material for the cartoonists this week:

And finally, in the spirit of Valentine's Day yesterday:

The USA NEEDS imports and exports to survive. More to the point it need to exploit poorer nations for their resources, where the USA gets them without pesky health and safety, environmental concerns, fair wages and working conditions...

But we have

F&P healthcare

Rakkon

A number of aerospace industries

A number of Marine industries

A number of software industries

A number of high-tech industries

A LOT on high-tech flies under the radar because the public never sees it, but certain industries rely on it

But here is another thing, we as consumers can reject US goods, services, companies .

96% of the worlds population is NOT American.

The world has got in to this mess by reliance on ONE "provider" when it should have been about diversification.

And we should NOT be selling off our companies cheap nor our IP

I wanted to expand on my thoughts that Mexican agricultural workers would be hard to replace.

The U.S. agricultural sector has long relied on Mexican labor. About 49% of the U.S. agricultural workforce is undocumented, with a significant portion hailing from Mexico. This deep-rooted connection has established a labor pipeline that is not easily changed.

The American H-2A visa program provides temporary employment of foreign agricultural workers. While this program is open to anyone, the majority of H-2A workers have historically come from Mexico. Shifting this demographic to any other group would require a lot of work. Work is something Trump hates worse than losing at golf or a wife with visible wrinkles.

Geographical proximity makes Mexico a more practical source of agricultural labor for the U.S. If you've ever visited the US, you know there's plenty of established Mexican communities.

In 1964, the US government tried to recruit American students for fill agricultural labor gap. As you'd expect it failed due to the demanding nature of farm work and inadequate living conditions.

The US established reliance on Mexican labor, coupled with practical considerations, makes such a transition improbable before Trump leaves office, dies of old-age, or from choking on a KFC chicken bone.

US eggs are up 18% nationwide since Trump was inaugurated, from NZD $11.44 to NZD $13.50 in less than a month.

Finland has reported the Seqirus bird flu vaccine is effective

I'm sure the Trump's health secretary, RFK Jr, will argue the vaccine is a “bioweapon” that targets white and black chickens while sparing Jewish and Chinese chickens.

I haven't seen figures for American's demand for Youtube "instant karma" videos since Trump was elected, but I'm guessing they're as popular as Trump's promise to bring down grocery prices on day one.

US egg prices continue to rise as inflation increases
