Giant Golden 'Saddam Hussain' like statue of Trump in Gaza.

When reality is so dark that satire is unrecogniseable.

There was a Russian who did a short comedy cartoon series lampooning Putin's Russia
and fellow Russians who accepted it.

Shortly after invasion of Ukraine, revelations of the atrocities in Bucha, Maripol and countless other places where Russia bought their 'liberation'

He kinda gave up as satire could no longer outpace the atrocity of Putin's Russia, it would certainly no longer be funny.

Its notable that Elon Musk and friends, Trump and GOP no longer mention the Russian atrocities that need addressing in a just peace. Its all about business opportunity and how Musk, Trump and their Techbros can make more billions and get a tax cut for selling out.

A big brains company among fellow big brains: GulfOfAmerica™.

I'm wondering why they have a ™ on Gulf of America™?

Selling a globe with an extra set of Great Lakes, for a mere USD $250. At least they were able to find America on a globe, which is beyond many MAGA's abilities.

From the manufacturer:

"A striking symbol of American pride and craftsmanship, the Gulf of America™ Prestige Globe is a must-have for collectors and patriots alike. Featuring a beautifully detailed United States emblazoned with the American flag, this limited-edition piece highlights key landmarks, including Mount McKinley and the Gulf of America™...

Expertly crafted ... this globe ... serves as a timeless reminder of America’s enduring legacy"

Trump at cabinet meeting about 25% tariff against the EU. I didn't edit out the rambling, because to know Trump is to know rambling. The only winner is Putin, who must love allies fighting.

Musk, who is not a cabinet member, ran the cabinet meeting. Don't worry. Tesla is not getting off easy. The EU has threatened to immediately retaliate. I'm sure Tesla is high on the EU's list of tariff targets, though I'd like to see a 100% tariff.

"uh we have made a decision, and we'll be announcing it very soon, and it'll be 25%, generally speaking, and that'll be on cars, and all the things, and European Union is a different case than Canada. Different kind of case.

They've really taken advantage of us in a different way. They don't accept our cars. They don't accept essentially our farm products. They use all sorts of reasons why not, and we accept everything of them, and we have about a $300 billion doll deficit with the European union.

Now I love the countries of Europe. I guess I'm uh from there at some point, a long time ago, right? But uh indirectly. Eh, pretty directly too I guess. But I love the countries of Europe. I love all countries frankly. All different.

But European Union's been it was formed in order to screw the United States. I mean look let's be honest: the European Union was formed in order to screw the United States. That's the purpose of it and they've done a good job of it, but now I'm president."

And the anonymous Russian group who took Nazi slogans and songs and translated them to Russian which were very popular on VKontakte, with Russian politicians and leaders favouriting it.

But in Gaza, the majority of the population follows Sunni Islam. It is generally conservative and traditionalist interpretations of Islamic teachings.

The ruling group, Hamas, enforces strict religious and social norms based on their interpretation of Islamic law (Sharia).

Gaza is a highly conservative society where gender roles are rigidly defined.

There is little to no social acceptance of transgender identities, as gender is traditionally seen as assigned by God and unchangeable.

Any deviation from conventional male and female roles is often met with severe social stigma, discrimination, or even violence.

In Gaza, transgender individuals could face harassment, imprisonment, or physical harm if they openly express their gender identity.

This is a problem with Hamas and other religious zealots, not Islam in general, which has recognised gay and transgender (intersex) people since the religion was founded.  Traditional Islam actually had seven genders, while Judaism, which is much older, has eight.  All of them were based on observation of biological and behavioural traits of people rather than religious dogma, which unfortunately many more recent interpretations use.

Not sure about Christianity although they've been pretty dogmatic from day one, I assume there's only two and then pretending nothing else exists.

Well, just like what you just said about Islam, it depends. Do you mean the Destiny Taliban, or the Anglican church?

I was thinking more the historic view before it got mangled by dogma.  For example the Anglican church today is fairly liberal (as is, in some instances, bastions of dogma like the Catholic church), but what was the original position 1,500 years ago before they all splintered and modified things to suit themselves?  I haven't been able to find much.

Edited to add: This made me curious about other religions, from a quick Google: Buddhism has four genders but the fourth is a sort of catch-all that covers a lot of different options.  Hindus start with the option of having gods as male, female, bigender, or non-gendered, so I don't think they have any hangups about human genders.

Here's the 'Fire Elon Musk' Ad the Washington Post Refuses to Run: Common Dreams

"Is it only okay to run things in The Post now that won't anger the president or won't have him calling Jeff Bezos asking why this was allowed?"

Critics of the Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post are targeting the newspaper over its "gutless" refusal to run a paid wrap-around advertisement that makes a prominent demand for President Donald Trump to fire mega-billionaire Elon Musk from his cohort of inner-most advisers.

The special ad, at a cost of $115,000, was orchestrated by the pro-democracy watchdog Common Cause, a progressive advocacy group, and scheduled to be delivered to members of Congress and subscribers at the Pentagon and White House on Tuesday. On Friday, however, the newspaper notified the group that it was backing out of the arrangement.
