Trump is demanding Canada pay three times the entire defense budget to be part of the Golden Dome missile defense system, or join the US as the 51st state.

Now I know why Trump called it Golden Dome.

Can Trump build a Golden Dome without Canada?

The Washington Post -  Prompt - In the Trump-Musk spat, what happens next?

Hell hath no fury like a billionaire scorned. ...

These are two raging narcissists who cannot take responsibility for their own actions, and since they have already blamed everyone under them, they now must blame each other. It’s Kang the Conqueror vs. Thanos.

Musk must blame Trump because Musk cannot acknowledge that DOGE failed because he actually has no idea how the government works. Trump must blame Musk because Trump’s bill is on the rocks.

Is this all theater? ... a political version of professional wrestling?  😐

Looks like spat is over with both thinking it was the other's fault.

Even though I hate Trump more than Musk, it looks like Musk was first to press the nuclear button.

Trump probably won't care about Musk's Epstein accusation, but Musk saying he won the election for Trump is unforgivable, with impeachment talk.

In Trump's mind, Trump is a God who never loses a fair battle, and Musk was just the beginning of periodic alms, a temporary revocable subscription, or a nuisance payment.

Steve Bannon and other Trump toadies will constantly praise Trump and prod about Musk's betrayal, scheming for revenge.

Musk's on-line worshipers will do the same.

D-Day, on June 6, 1944, marked a pivotal moment in World War II, the largest amphibious invasion in history. Nearly 160,000 Allied troops landed on D-Day - more than 4,400 of whom died in the assault.

The German leader Merz has to remind Trump that the Nazi are the bad guys.

"We are having June 6th tomorrow, this is D-Day anniversary, when the Americans once ended a war in Europe," Merz said.

"That was not a pleasant day for you," Trump responded. "This was not a great day.”

Merz replied: “In the long run, Mr. President, this was the liberation of my country from a Nazi dictator.”

I think the "tell-all on Trump" will be a death by a thousand cuts tweets.

Elon Musk has not been actively involved in the U.S. Libertarian Party. Some of his views align with libertarian principles: very limited government regulations, free (hate) speech, universal basic income (because of robots), and gun rights.

In the 2020 elections, Libertarian candidates received over 1 million votes across 119 contests but did not win any seats.

He has not endorsed or participated in Libertarian Party activities ... but I wouldn't be surprised if they connected.

Still if Elon invests millions into campaign runs, he could split the vote.

The U.S. Constitution requires the president to be a natural-born citizen.

So Elon Musk cannot become President of the United States, but he could hold other positions like U.S. Senator, Congressman.

It's not a cause of celebration though, because neither side has any compassion for innocent bystanders.

Today Trump President Donald Trump has reposted a denial by Trump's personal lawyer David Schoen.

The same lawyer represented Trump during his second impeachment trial, and said that Jeffrey Epstein had information on Trump.

And the Schoen is using hearsay from a dead pedophile.

"I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer nine days before Epstein died. He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked him!”

Trump warns Musk of ‘very serious consequences’ if he backs Democrats: The Guardian

Donald Trump warned Elon Musk on Saturday that he faces “very serious consequences” if he funds Democratic candidates following the pair’s epic public bust-up this week
...
Trump was also asked whether he had any wish to repair his relationship with Musk. “No,” he said. Asked whether he thought their relationship was over, he said: “I would assume so, yeah,” and said he had no plans to speak with his erstwhile sidekick.

“I’m too busy doing other things,” Trump said, adding: “I have no intention of speaking to him.”
...
But he predicted that the spat had helped to unify the Republican party around him, saying the “party has never been united like this before. It’s never been. It’s actually more so than it was three days ago.”

Musk’s opposition to the Republican budget bill, formally the “one big beautiful bill act”, would not, he predicted, affect its passage through Congress. The bill narrowly passed the House and is now under consideration in the Senate. However, some conservative Republicans share Musk’s concerns about the need for significant spending cuts and are considering making changes.

Trump deploys National Guard after second day of Los Angeles immigration protests

This reminds of the 1969 People's Park protest associated with the University of California, Berkeley. Unfortunately, the National Guard opened fire, wounding eight and killing four.

As it was then, so it is now. Those protests came about due to the growing Vietnam anti-war movement and the public's dissatisfaction with Nixon's policies and of course his band of "Plumbers" and the Watergate break-in, which all ended in 1974 with Nixon's resignation. The famous line "I'm not a crook" and all those lovely Oval Office tapes.

Except now, we have an actual crook in the Oval Office and today's LA protests are with the public's dissatisfaction with Trump's immigration policies and his ICE agency. Hopefully this will be the start of his and the GOP downfall, starting with the mid-term elections and the Democrats taking both Houses.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

As far as I can work out it started when federal ICE agents began to conduct mass raids on California workplaces with the intention of arresting employees. The California government opposes this action.

CNN commentary interview with an elected member of the California state government:

In other locations protesters try to disrupt federal operations by preventing entry and exit.

Governor Gavin Newsome says Trump's deployment of the National Guard will only inflame the situation further. The L.A County Sheriff's office says it is not getting involved in ICE arrests and is there to keep the peace.
