Hmm. Wonder how much tax he'll pay on that income. I remember him claiming way back that he paid almost no tax because he was 'smart'.

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

2000 venues are set to go on peaceful anti-Trump administration protests this weekend, labelled "No Kings"

No doubt there will be a few idiots being violent, which will be Trump-eted as an uprising, the nation will burn....

As I understand it the underlying cause - rounding up of "Undocumented Immigrants" has been stopped for most locations (another TACO- Trump always Chickens out).

Obviously the economic effects of the stupidity have started to be seen. Hopefully the Undocumented Immigrants will have a better negotiating position with their employers if not in fear of ICE.

Ah, he still has to pay the money, even being president doesn't let you squirm out of your responsibilities for this one. Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

Violent acts and threats at some 'No Kings' protests around the US: The Guardian

A man intentionally drove an SUV into a crowd of protesters in Culpepper, Virginia, on Saturday, striking at least one person, according to Washington DC’s Fox affiliate.

The man, identified by authorities as Joseph R Checklick Jr, was arrested and charged with reckless driving. Checklick was held without bail at the county jail, the news outlet said.

Authorities alleged that Checklick knowingly accelerated into a group of “No Kings” protest attendees. Organizers reportedly said that more than 600 attended the event, with 200 on Main Street and 400 along James Madison Highway.

As hundreds of thousands took to the streets to protest Trump’s military parade and his policies, violence has cast a shadow over demonstrations.

In San Francisco, a car hit at least four “No Kings” protesters in what authorities are investigating as a “possible intentional act”.

Texas authorities closed the state capitol grounds following a “credible threat” toward lawmakers planning to attend a protest.

Early Saturday, Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman, a Democrat, and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed. State senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot, but are expected to survive.

Minnesota officials said the incidents appeared to be [right-wing] politically motivated attacks.

The NY Times - Manhunt for Assassin Stretches On as Minnesota Mourns Lawmaker

The police are looking for a suspect, Vance Boelter, 57, in relation to the killing of a state representative and the shooting of a state senator.

Officials said the gunman was impersonating an officer and carrying a list of about 70 potential targets.* ...

This was an act of targeted political violence,” Gov. Tim Walz said.  ...

Horrible news,” said Representative Steve Scalise, who was shot at a baseball game in 2017.

Paul and I are heartbroken,” said former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose husband was bludgeoned with a hammer in 2022.

My family and I know the horror of a targeted shooting all too well,” said former Representative Gabby Giffords, who was shot in the head in 2011.

* The list included politicians (dozens of Minnesota Democrats), doctors, community and business leaders, and locations for Planned Parenthood and other health care centers.

The suspect worked at a funeral home, owned firearms and voted for Donald Trump last year.

Besides being a Fox New TV presenter, now secretary of defense Hegseth has a history of supporting controversial policies, including
  • using the US military to put down domestic riots

  • speaking in favor of enhanced interrogation methods such as waterboarding

  • pardoning US soldiers convicted of war crimes

  • targeting cultural institutions in drone strikes

  • banning women from combat roles.

  • flagged by a fellow servicemember as a possible “insider threat” due to a “Deus Vult” (Latin for “God wills it”) tattoo on his right arm, a symbol used by White nationalists.
and an amateur inevading questions, and just parroting rehearsed talking points. Maybe he should invest in a teleprompter setup 24x7, because words are hard.

It's official:

Guardian: The New York Times reported that an internal email was sent on Thursday by Tatum King, a senior official with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice), to regional department leaders at Homeland Security Investigations, directing them to stop workplace immigration enforcement actions unless related to criminal investigations.“Effective today, please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels,” King wrote in the guidance, according to the outlet.

One battle ends, another will begin, or Trump might change his mind next week who knows. In the best case this whole fiasco has clearly demonstrated to more Americans that immigration reform is long overdue.
