The NY Post - Trump drops new merch playing off NATO chief Mark Rutte calling him ‘Daddy’

26 June

President Trump’s allies offered supporters a new, limited-edition T-shirt with his mugshot and the word “DADDY” on Thursday - playing off a lighthearted exchange with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday.

When Biden was President, we were LAUGHED at on the world stage. The whole world WALKED ALL OVER US!” the Trump Fundraising Committee wrote in its email promoting the shirt.

But thanks to your favorite President (ME!) we are respected once again. Please never forget that I wouldn’t be here without you. THANKS TO YOU, OUR COUNTRY IS RESPECTED AGAIN!

Yours for US $35.  😕

When did this purported "laughing at us...on the world stage" actually happen? I don't recall that. I bet he would struggle to give an example of this, outside of his own head 🙄

Also the orange buffoon has been having a go at AOC lately (deflection? distraction?) calling her one of the "dumbest" people in Congress. Her response is quite brutal:

Oh yay 🙄 now we'll never hear the end of what "a beautiful decision" it was, as it essentially gives him unchecked power to do whatever nasty stuff he wants. Sigh.

Could be one or these a psychological concepts:

Incongruous / inappropriate affect: laughing when under stress or discomfort.

Nervous laughter: a coping mechanism to diffuse inner tension, stress, discomfort, or anxiety. Seeing the collapse of a once great nation will do that.

Or maybe it's just dark humor / gallows humor: making light of the grim reality. A crazed king leading a torch carrying angry mob.

Trump's belief that people are laughing at him is more than just narcissism alone. He showing his paranoia, and fragile self-esteem.

For a narcissist, hypersensitivity to shame is a core vulnerability. He has a deep, hidden sensitivity to feeling flawed, or inferior. A good example is actively avoiding daily Presidential briefings.

Superficially Trump's narcissism makes him appear arrogant, confident, or superior on the outside. But in reality he is extremely sensitive to perceived criticism, failure, or rejection. He knows he's bad, defective, or unworthy.

I don't think there's any doubt that he really is a cowardly, weak-witted, unstable bully, but he's a cunning and clever manipulator who plays up his instability to keep everyone guessing at what he'll do if provoked.

Good coverage of this on The Bulwark too: https://www.thebulwark.com/i/166971480/mission-re-accomplished

When Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin asked a straightforward, factual question—whether Hegseth could say for certain whether Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium had been destroyed in the strikes—Hegseth went nuclear. “Jennifer, you’ve been about the worst. The one who misrepresents the most intentionally,” he replied, visibly emotional.

It almost goes without saying that this is deeply stupid. Reporters trying to figure out what can be known about the aftermath of the strikes is no more unpatriotic than America’s intelligence agencies trying to answer the same questions. But it’s more than just stupid—it could prove dangerous.

With every passing day, the entire White House is committing itself to the argument that it is unthinkable Iran could bounce back from these strikes. In doing so, it is putting itself in a policy straitjacket. Months from now, if troubling intelligence reports start to bubble up that Iran did indeed manage to get its uranium to safety and intends to get back to further enrichment as quickly as possible, how will Trump and Hegseth respond? Will they allow this information to shape their thinking on the matter? Or will they thrust their heads back into the sand, waving it off as more treasonous nonsense from Deep Staters trying to make our great warfighters look bad?

I watched that, totally embarrassing. Human nature favours yourself, your family, your friends, and any political affiliation you have, thats normal. Most normal people can differentiate between their inherent bias and honesty

Trumps obliteration was based on his weak needs, not facts. Embarrasingly for him and others, they took the backlash as demeaning the military pilots. Embarrassing.

Now we see the seemingly impaired RFK Junior who is anti vax, who also seemingly eased back on that, has fired 18 or so in his department and replaced them by 8 anti vax people.

Im not sure how you reconcile autocracy, dictatorship, going against the Constitution and law and International law with democracy. Ultimately democracy will rule in the next US election. Whether Rupublicans or Democrats win, thats irrelevant. Whats relevant is a good and honest person who wants to do best for his/her country. Which is the populous.

The change to class action being required was anticipated and papers had already been prepared for filing as soon as the decision was announced.

Make America Great Again cuts to Medicare and Medicaid in the Big Beautiful Bill are massive:

Senate Finance Committee: Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that the Senate bill will cut $930 billion from Medicaid,” Wyden said. “Just as before, these cruel cuts to Americans’ health care will strike a mortal blow to rural health care, and threaten the health and safety of kids, seniors, Americans with disabilities, and working families across the country.

Something about paying for more sections of a big beautiful wall and increasing funding for ICE deportation and detention activities. The most important thing? Tax cuts for billionaires.

The NY Times - With Supreme Court Ruling, Another Check on Trump’s Power Fades  ( this is an unlocked link to a frightening read )

28 June 2025

The Supreme Court ruling barring judges from swiftly blocking government actions, even when they may be illegal, is yet another way that checks on executive authority have eroded as President Trump pushes to amass more power.

The decision on Friday, by a vote of 6 to 3, could allow Mr. Trump’s executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship to take effect in some parts of the country - even though every court that has looked at the directive has ruled it unconstitutional.

That means some infants born to undocumented immigrants or foreign visitors without green cards could be denied citizenship-affirming documentation like Social Security numbers.

But the diminishing of judicial authority as a potential counterweight to exercises of presidential power carries implications far beyond the issue of citizenship.

The Supreme Court is effectively tying the hands of lower-court judges at a time when they are trying to respond to a steady geyser of aggressive executive branch orders and policies.

ICE arresting US military veteran families

Guardian:A US marine veteran, during an interview on CNN, said he felt “betrayed” after immigration officials beat and arrested his father at a landscaping job. The arrested man had moved to the US from Mexico in the 1990s without documentation but was detained by Ice agents this month while doing landscaping work at a restaurant in Santa Ana, California.

In another recent case, the wife of another Marine Corps veteran was detained by Ice despite still breastfeeding her three-month-old daughter. According to the Associated Press, the veteran’s wife had been going through a process to obtain legal residency.
