The NY Times - Room for One More on Mount Rushmore?  (unlocked link)

27 June 2025

President Trump has made no secret of his fondness for Mount Rushmore and his desire to join its rock-star lineup. ...

During his first term, Mr. Trump told Kristi Noem - now Mr. Trump’s Secretary of Homeland Security - that his “dream” was to be on Mount Rushmore. The idea has resurfaced since Mr. Trump returned to office.

A congresswoman from Florida sponsored a bill in January to “direct the Secretary of the Interior to arrange for the carving of the figure of President Donald J. Trump on Mount Rushmore National Memorial.”

It was referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources, which has yet to act on it. ...

Hopefully the House Committee will consider this very, very slowly ...   😐

The Fall of the USSR was relatively quick, 1985-1991, in 6 years.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, died on 2020. By her hubris for refusing to step aside before her death at 86, provided the Republicans the opening for a killing blow / fatal thrust. Senator Mitch McConnell was happy to exploit, handing the justice appointment to Trump.

I'd say we're safely on the way to Putin style presidency in the US.

I think the best case event the November 2026 general election gives both house of the legislature a majority of Democrats. However it won't be enough.

America is a type 2 diabetic patient unwilling to change their sugary drink habits, and the Democrats were simply Pepsi and the Republicans Coke.

I don't believe China's going to step into the vacuum, because they inflicted too much damage to themselves also.

LA

May be issues there, or problems, if so, need to be dealt with. Or its a Democratic state, that's even worse...

They should become a Canadian province. Silly comment, but OTOH it aligns with Trump's ideas with Canada. Canada become the 51st state or CAL allows the US to dump CAL so the US has 49 states. Win win??

Representative Jasmine Crockett suggests Melania Trump might not have actually qualified for “Einstein Visa”: Vanity Fair

Democratic representative Jasmine Crockett suggested on Wednesday that the process by which Melania Trump received her green card back in the early 2000s may not have been on the up-and-up, while also implying that the first lady was a cut-rate model.

Speaking during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, the lawmaker from Texas lit into Republicans over immigration, saying, “Integrity is not snatching lawful visa holders off the streets and throwing them into unmarked vans. Integrity is not revoking visas based on social media posts that hurt somebody’s little feelings, because kids decided they wanna go after Trump or this administration. We have a thing called free speech in this country.” Then she wondered aloud why her colleagues across the aisle hadn’t looked into visas obtained by “the president’s family.”

Noting that Melania Trump, then Knauss, obtained permanent residency through an EB-1—which is known as an “Einstein visa” and meant for individuals with “extraordinary” abilities—Crockett declared: “You’re supposed to have some sort of significant achievement, like being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer; being an Olympic medalist; or having other sustained extraordinary abilities and success in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. Last time I checked, the first lady had none of those accolades under her belt.”

She continued: “Melania, the first lady, a model—and when I say model, I’m not talking about Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford, or Naomi Campbell–level—applied for and was given an EB-1 visa…It doesn’t take an Einstein to see that the math ain’t mathin’ here.”

The Cato Institute’s Alex Nowrasteh, who was testifying at the time, quickly interjected that “not everybody could marry Donald Trump, and I think that’s quite an achievement, so I think she deserves credit for that. Nobody up here could have done it!” Crockett responded, “You sure are right. I couldn’t do it.”

Also; I'm not sure if the second sign is actually a real sign or AI, but it's fairly true:

quickymart , They need to move on this quickly as Don Jr has expressed interest in replacing his father as dictator for life once daddy is out of the way.

The other solution is Elon Musks Digital God, forever dictator.
( He did say vote for Star Trek, all the dystopian civilizations including with a digital god )
Disney have a template add TeslaBot internals.

You will never need to vote again.  Techbro paradise

In 2018 Trump reportedly referred to several nations—including unspecified “African countries”—as “shithole countries”

Recently on several occasion, including this year, “The Congo has just released a lot of people from jail… and brought them into the United States.” and asserted they were criminals.

This April Trump said to Italy’s PM “Many, many people come from the Congo. I don’t know what that is…"

During a televised Oval Office meeting with South Africa’s President, Trump showed roadside graves from Congo and misrepresented it as evidence of genocide of white South African farmers.

By the way, even though Trump took credit, Qatar diplomacy in March paved the way. While altruism played a role, the Eastern DRC holds vast reserves of rare earth minerals.

Qatar is investing heavily in green energy supply chains. Peace in Congo mean easier mineral access, and reduces dependence on Western or Chinese supply chains.

Qatar aims to be an early player in African infrastructure, logistics, and mining sectors in the lucrative Congo.

Trump Flirts With Female Reporter: Wish More Were ‘Like You’: Yahoo

President Donald Trump joked that his political career could end after he told a female reporter she was beautiful and wished there were more reporters like her.

The awkward scene took place in the Oval Office on Friday as a peace deal facilitated by the U.S. was signed by the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, with the aim of ending the decades-long, deadly fighting in eastern Congo.
...
[A female reporter who's] a native of Africa, told Trump what she had seen on the ground in Democratic Republic of Congo upon news of the peace agreement.

“I saw hope. They have hope now for a better day in Congo,” she said, adding that Congo’s President wanted to nominate Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize.

“So beautifully stated,” Trump replied, before telling Veras she was also “beautiful”.

“I’m not allowed to say that,” he joked. “You know that could be the end of my political career, but you are beautiful—and you’re beautiful inside. I wish I had more reporters like you.”
...
The deal has been dubbed the Washington Accord—although Trump joked that it should have been called the “Trump Accord.”
...
Under the agreement, the U.S. will also get access to the DRC’s deposits of metals and minerals, such as gold, lithium, and copper.

Trump took credit on Friday not just for the Washington Accord, but also for his role in other foreign conflicts.

“In a few short months, we’ve now achieved peace between India and Pakistan, India and Iran, and the DRC and Rwanda, and a couple of others, also,” he said.
...
[He also stated she deserved a Trump coin]

Trump is cutting support for wind and solar by taxing it. Media reporting said its like the POTUS when Henry Ford was in full flight, was taxing cars and subsidising horses. Some say its vengeance against Musk, even though the economics stack up, let alone the climate benefits. Oh well, 3.5 years to go
