I don't see a revolt happening, but I do see a "sovereign default", basically bankruptcy.

Trump is spending way too much on extravagant vanity projects, for instance "the wall", "alligator Alcatraz", military parades.

Since the 1950's the Republicans are quick to offer themselves as the solutions to a moral or cultural decline, and spending wastefully.

In a perfect world, the US would balkanize and California would become its own country.

It would be lovely to see how "red" states being broke in their libertarian Nirvana.

Gerrymandering is the fox guarding the henhouse

Cross-posted from the Elon thread: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1dn04lvgpdo

So he went ahead with it and is actually creating a new party? I'm skeptical as to how well this will do though - the last time a third party got any votes of significance in the US was 1968:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_United_States_presidential_election

(from Wikipedia):

Given this was over 50 years ago and the US has basically been really a two-party system since then, I think Musk faces a bit of an uphill climb.

It's a concentration camp, not a prison. "Alcatraz" is the wrong A-word.

The NY Times - Opinion - Trump’s Politicized F.B.I. Has Made Americans Less Safe

05 July 2025

Over the past five months, many F.B.I. agents, including other top managers and national security experts, have been fired, pressured to leave or transferred to lesser roles.

Hundreds have resigned on their own, unwilling to follow the demands of the Trump administration. ...

These losses have obliterated decades of experience in national security and criminal matters at the F.B.I.

Mr. Trump’s playbook for the F.B.I. is plain to see.  He is turning it into an enforcement agency for MAGA’s priorities. ...

America may be too big to go bankrupt and will bail itself out with more debt?
Already Trump has been using its size and power to extort from other countries.

The tariff play can be played again and again when needed?
Pay us tribute or else.

Trump has droned on a lot about everyone else rigging their currency to be too low.

A rapid collapse of the USD is actually a win, see Trump you got what you wanted.
Everyone else's currency is now higher.

Join South America in economic and currency instability, America North and South is finally one.

Putin gets a collapse of USA that Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev could not manage.
The most successful operation in KGB history.

CCP says thank you Putin, we will now take over, your economy does not even make the top 10.

EU the only island of economic stability?

The Daily Beast - White House Launches Bonkers Cartoon of Trump at McDonald’s to Push His MAGA Bill

Brace yourselves for yet another adventure into the unhinged reality that is MAGA World with a livestreamed cartoon of President Trump hanging out at McDonald’s to promote his spending proposals.

The White House launched the video on its website under the title “One Big Beautiful Lo-Fi MAGA Video to Relax / Study to,” featuring an animated version of the president working the fryers and waving to customers as soothing beats play in the background.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is a terrible, terrible Governor, for too many misdeeds to list.

He has also repeatedly cast doubt on the scientific consensus that human activity is driving climate change, often using noncommittal or dismissive language about its causes and seriousness.

He has frames weather events as part of general weather variability, not human-driven shifts, even up to the present.

Trump during his first term, tried (and failed) to make things worse. He wanted to cut the National Weather Service funding by 5 to 16% every year. He also wanted to slash NOAA’s weather satellite programs, research, local forecast office staff. He tried to eliminate many positions relating to climate research and improving weather modeling tools.

There was also the “Sharpiegate” scandal, where he actively ignored experts Hurricane Dorian predictions, and used a sharpie pen to adjust a map, based on his gut feeling.

He also in 2019, diverted $155 million from FEMA’s disaster relief fund to help fund detention and immigration enforcement.

ICE Barbie Dodges Blame for Disastrous Texas Flooding on Trump’s Watch: Daily Beast

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has defended the Trump administration from suggestions that the delayed warning residents received during the flash floods in Texas this week was insufficient.

Speaking at a press conference alongside Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Saturday, Noem was asked by a reporter whether the fact that he and many others did not receive warnings from the National Weather Service until 7 a.m. was a “fundamental failure of the federal government’s responsibility to keep people safe.” Noem argued that the technology was “ancient” and that the Trump administration is working to upgrade it.
...
Noem [wanted to shift] the blame onto previous administrations that failed to upgrade the technology. Trump was previously president from 2017 to 2021.

When asked about the impact of cuts and closures made to weather research labs as part of Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” Noem once again defended the current administration, telling reporters that she would relay their concerns to the president.
...
In addition to the cuts detailed in Trump’s tax bill, the Department of Government Efficiency cut hundreds of jobs at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service earlier this year.

A May report from NPR detailed how the NWS was left reeling by the cuts, with eight of the 122 NWS offices across the U.S. falling below the level of staffing that enables them to operate 24 hours a day, with a former NWS meteorologist telling host Scott Simon that the current situation was not sustainable.

“The National Weather Service is putting together plans to really help with this short-term challenge of short-staffing. But that’s really what it is—it’s a Band-Aid on the short-term challenge of that short-staffing,” meteorologist Brian LaMarre explained.

At least 47 people, including 15 children, have lost their lives in the floods. More than 20 young girls are still missing after their camp was flooded, and at least four of the young campers have been confirmed dead.

From this month. NOAA is "National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration"

Trump announcement to cut NOAA funding was the same day as Texas activated the state emergency response resources too late for flooding

This cost cost $10 billion in damages, killed 47 people, including 15 children.

15 white American Christian girls, by the way. The type him and Jeffery Epstein like for beauty contests.

New NOAA document spells out further deep Trump cuts: Axios

A new NOAA document sheds further light on the Trump administration's proposed cuts and changes for the weather and climate agency.

Why it matters: The proposed budget would gut federal climate research efforts and spending at a critical moment in the fight to understand and address human-driven climate change.

Driving the news: Most notably, the proposal would eliminate NOAA's Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), which performs and coordinates climate research.

Some of OAR's functions would be transferred to the National Weather Service, but others would be cancelled.

"The FY 2026 budget eliminates all funding for climate, weather, and ocean Laboratories and Cooperative Institutes," reads the document.

"It also does not fund Regional Climate Data and Information, Climate Competitive Research, the National Sea Grant College Program, Sea Grant Aquaculture Research, or the National Oceanographic Partnership Program."

The Washington Post - We asked 5 AI models to fact-check Trump. Here’s what we learned. (unlocked link)

01 July 2025

We asked each of five leading AI models - OpenAI’s ChatGPT; Anthropic’s Claude; X/xAI’s Grok (owned by Elon Musk); Google’s Gemini; and Perplexity - to verify the president’s most oft-repeated claims or assertions.

The questions asked:

01. Will Trump’s current tariff policies be inflationary?
02. Is the U.S. being taken advantage of on trade by its international partners?
03. Are Trump’s cryptocurrency investments a conflict of interest?
04. Has the Department of Government Efficiency actually “found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud”?
05. Is Harvard more antisemitic than other universities?
06. Is Trump right that the media is “dishonest” or “tells lies”?
07. Did the “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris that aired in October distort the truth and damage Trump’s candidacy?
08. Was the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 President Joe Biden’s fault?
09. Was the American economy the worst in its history under the Biden presidency?
10. Was the Biden administration responsible for higher levels of inflation following the covid-19 pandemic and through 2024?
11. Did 21 million illegal immigrants enter the United States [during the Biden administration]?
12. Were the Jan. 6, 2021, rioters who stormed the capitol “patriots” or “heroes”?
13. Was the 2020 presidential election stolen from Trump?
14. Is Trump the most dishonest president in U.S. history?

Follow this unlocked link for the answers.  😐

This is an economists view on what is happening in the USA, and why ultimately the USA will lose.

Its worth a listen to, because I see ACT etc trying to install similar policies here.

Republican Wisconsin Representative Derrick “Little Bitch” Van Orden was excited about the laundry list of benefits he’d just voted to strip away from his own constituents in Wisconsin.

By the way, the Republican himself coined his nickname "Little bitch", not me. Like Marjorie Taylor Greene he's proud of hi brash, combative communication style.
