Trump threatening to take away the American citizenship of a random American born talkshow host he's had a running feud with for many years - for no other reason:

https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/360755700/trump-says-hes-considering-taking-away-rosie-odonnells-us-citizenship

A USA president cannot legally do that. Legality isn't always considered by the current administration before acting. The threat was hardly notable for that reason. This is not a normal situation. It's incredible.

The Washington Post - Defense Department to begin using Grok, Musk’s controversial AI Model

15 July 2025

The U.S. Department of Defense will begin using Grok, the AI chatbot built by Elon Musk’s start-up xAI, the company announced in a post on Monday.

The announcement came as Grok unveiled what it called “Grok for Government,” a suite that allows agencies and federal offices to adopt its chatbots for their specific uses.

President Donald Trump has encouraged more rapid adoption of artificial intelligence tools since taking office in January.

Bad timing: Just last week, Grok started spewing antisemitic comments, even invoking Adolf Hitler.   😕

The NY Times - The Supreme Court agrees that the firing of thousands of Education Dept. workers can proceed

breaking

The Supreme Court agreed on Monday that the Trump administration can proceed with dismantling the Education Department by firing thousands of workers.

The order is a significant victory for the administration and could ease President Trump’s efforts to sharply curtail the federal government’s role in the nation’s schools.

Ignorance is MAGA bliss!   😟

I see after he single-handedly won the FIFA Club World Cup, Trump is contemplating an Executive Order to rename Association Football (known as Soccer in the USA) as "Football".

Inspirational.

I'm laughing my head off. The ‘mood of the president’ reminds me of the court jesters in the Middle Ages, who literally had the freedom of fools and if you wanted to get something done with the king, you first asked them what his mood was today. What ridiculous governance in 2025 and the rest of the term. 🤣

Right, so people in the US can't afford to buy groceries, and this is the type of pointless crap he's focused on? 🤔

Amazing that no-one's thought of that before.

To keep Trumps idiocracy simple, he doesnt like another person, Rosie O'Donnell. Fine, that happens in life. So he says he will remove her citizenship, that's crazy. Crazier is that he probably cannot do that

His agenda is being the big man, classic narcisist behaviour. Stop Russia Ukraine war in 24 hours, etc. Just words, in Marketing its termed puffery.

You would think that bombing apartments, schools, kindergartens, hospitals would be an issue? Russia does that, no news from Trump. His best mate Netanyahu does that but he goes a step further, by waiting for the masses to congregate to scrounge crappy water and crappy flour, then they get gunned down. Horrific. Again, no news from Trump, after all Netanyahu, like Putin are smart cookies, they feed the monkey. I'd suggest that Trumps ego desire to be the big man and solve the war problems, has in fact cost many many lives. Iran. He went from words and flexed the military muscle, it stopped. Pity it is allowed in Ukraine and Palestine.

The NY Times - Opinion - If You Like 35 Percent Inflation, Go Ahead, Fire the Fed Chair

15 July 2025

President Trump is ramping up his campaign for lower interest rates. It is a high-risk and potentially self-defeating effort.

For months, Mr. Trump has called for the Federal Reserve to ease monetary policy, to which he’s added calls for its chair, Jerome Powell, to resign.

In recent days, the administration appears to have opened a dangerously novel front, even if it is potentially legal: building a case to fire a Fed chair for cause.

The risk of allowing the central bank to be perceived as a political tool is depressingly obvious, illustrated by even a cursory review of similar efforts overseas.

Even if the American economy and financial markets are strong enough to moderate the impact of the Fed’s tarnished reputation, the directional response seems clear: higher long-term borrowing costs for households and businesses and a weaker currency that would support inflation.

Trump is a financial idiot.  🙄

EDIT
