Trump is a financial idiot.  🙄

It's like he wants China to become the new singular superpower (because I don't think Europe has quite got its head around whether they collectively want to do it).

Journalist Mehdi Hasan reviews the facts

I noticed he didn't comment either way on Trump's Clinton claim after playing it. It's unclear to me what the point of that clip was. Other than that, spot on.

A spine-chilling read ...

The NY Times - For Trump, Domestic Adversaries Are Not Just Wrong, They Are ‘Evil’  [unlocked link]

16 July 2025

“Evil” is a word getting a lot of airtime in the second Trump term.

It is not enough anymore to dislike a journalistic inquiry or disagree with an opposing philosophy.

Anyone viewed as critical of the president or insufficiently deferential is wicked.

The Trump administration’s efforts to achieve its policy goals are not just an exercise in governance but a holy mission against forces of darkness.

If Mr. Trump’s adversaries are not just rivals but villains, then he can rationalize going further than any president has in modern times. ...

He has devoted enormous energy in his second term to prosecuting perceived enemies, purging career officials deemed disloyal and destroying what he calls “the deep state” that he believes thwarted his policies last time and then persecuted him through criminal prosecutions after he left office. ...

Mr. Trump has demonstrated willingness to use power against those he considers evil. On a single day two weeks ago, he threatened to arrest two political rivals and deport an estranged ally who had angered him. ...

Trump is becoming increasingly disinhibited.   Narcissism + paranoia = mad emperor.  😠

Regarding Coca Cola and cane sugar versus high fructose corn syrup HFCS, it's a contentious debate going back decades.

Many may know RFK Jr hates HFCS.

In the US, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo fully switched to HFCS in 1984, because it's cheaper. There are Americans who insist on buying Mexican bottled Coke.

Corn syrup still has domestic farm subsidies and protectionist sugar policies. Corn farmers are not going to be happy, and most corn farmers are hard-core MAGA.

Also Coke switching back to cane sugar will be hurt by Trump's tariffs, eventually raising the price of cane sugar 10-25%.

Trump's uncle, the professor, was dead before the terrorist Unabomber enter college, and the Unabomber went to Harvard than Trump's uncle at MIT.

Trump, 79, forgets who is with him on Pittsburgh trip as rambling talk includes unlikely Unabomber story: The independent

President Donald Trump delivered a rambling speech in Pittsburgh Tuesday, but set off alarm bells by forgetting names and telling ‘facts’ that were, at best, very unlikely to be true.

Some of the president’s comments that drew attention. Trump claimed that his uncle, a noted physicist who helped develop radar systems during the Second World War, taught notorious future terrorist Theodore Kaczynski at MIT, despite none of it having actually happened. The 79-year-old president also forgot names and who was with him on the trip.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-diagnosed-with-vein-condition-causing-leg-swelling-white-house-says-2025-07-17/

Reading a letter from Trump's physician, [press secretary Karoline] Leavitt said at a press briefing that an ultrasound on the president's legs "revealed chronic venous insufficiency ... a common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70."

I don't know how common this is, but I've never heard of it? And I have a fair few relatives over 70.

The NY Times - Prosecutor Fired by Trump Calls Fear the ‘Tool of a Tyrant’

breaking

Maurene Comey, a career federal prosecutor who worked on the Jeffrey Epstein case and was abruptly fired by the Trump administration this week, implored her colleagues Thursday not to give into fear, calling it “the tool of a tyrant.”

If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain,” she wrote in an email that was circulated to her colleagues within the federal prosecutor’s office in Manhattan. “Do not let that happen.”

Ms. Comey is the daughter of James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director and an adversary of President Trump. She also prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell, who conspired with Epstein ...

The bad news keeps coming. That means less golf, and more time for chaos.

Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) at 78 years old can affect a person's ability to play golf.

Since only the rich in the US get good health care, I'm sure he's already had the various surgeries available.

One of the worse side effects of these failed surgeries is emotional and mental strain due to chronic discomfort, appearance of legs, and limited mobility.

Which could explain a lot.

1,282 days left until 20 January 2029. 12% through, meaning 88% remains

Much easier for devils to whisper in Satan's ear.

Epstein files if they get released will be heavily faked to protect the Republicans , (and not the Democrats )

Watch them pile all the "Epstein" document tampering on her, "she has TDS" , "out for revenge because her father got fired" , etc etc etc. Or she may be involved is an "accident" , Violent home invasion, etc to shut her up as a warning to anyone else.

Mean time they are probably very busy trying to find any other information Maxwell has stashed somewhere else with a deadman switch attached.

They tried to blame Obama fro creating false documents, even though it was Trump who was POTUS at the time

Just watch for more and more egregious redirection, denials, and lies.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/cover-musk-floods-posts-attacking-trump-epstein/story?id=123836343

Even the orange buffoon's biggest backer is part of the pile-on now:

Musk also took a shot at how Trump has handled past issues, listing, "1. Admit nothing; 2. Deny everything; 3. Make counterclaims" -- before adding, "But it won’t work this time."

While I expected things to (eventually) go south between two of the world's biggest narcissists, I didn't think it would be that quick.
