Horrendous. People struggling to put food on the table, and this is the crap he focuses on.

Any chance it could be demolished after he leaves office?

Just say how the Democrats are going to name/rename it "The Obama ballroom" in honour of the 1st Black American to be elected as President.

Watch Trump pop a fuse...

The NY Times - After a Weak Jobs Report, Trump Says He’s Firing That Agency’s Commissioner

breaking

Hours after disappointing jobs data reflected cracks in the U.S. economy, President Trump said Friday that he was firing the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Erika McEntarfer, and said without evidence on social media that she “rigged” the data “to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad.”

Mr. Trump and his top aides have made a habit of attacking government agencies, researchers and watchdogs when they have produced findings that the president personally does not like.

That has led to concerns that he could seek to interfere with the operations of statistical agencies, particularly if the economy begins to take a turn for the worse.

Shooting the messenger?   🙄

EDIT:  The bureau released a jobs report showing the worst three months of job growth since the early days of the coronavirus pandemic; Trump has claimed the report was “faked.”

United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth paranoia shines through, so much so that Trump steps in.

Hegseth has faced allegations of sexual misconduct, white supremist beliefs (including a sus tattoo) and financial mismanagement, which make him overqualified for the Trump administration.

Maxwell moved to minimum security prison

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/08/01/politics/ghislaine-maxwell-federal-prison-texas

"Maxwell’s transfer to a minimum-security prison is relatively uncommon, as those convicted of sex offenses are almost always deemed too high of a risk to public safety. That means that those inmates are at best assigned to a low-security prison."

The Justice dept has not responded to questions.

Minimum security looks like a reward for cooperation with Trump's assistant attorney general Todd Blanche previously a lawyer for Trump. Oh lord the insanity.

Hardly a reward, she has no been made available to other prisoners who now pose a significant security risk to her.

I am sure the "plan" is to remove the "source" of names, publish the ones they want to (ie Trumps enemies), with zero risk of anyone (Maxwell) correcting the facts.

Everyone in Trumpland will be devastated by the loss....

I would have thought a smart lawyer would have considered this...

The Trump Whitehouse has redone the rose garden. It's now a concrete slab with American flags circling the slab on the ground to provide sewage drainage.

It means anyone using the Whitehouse rose "garden" will trample multiple American flags unwittingly.

Flag burning is a singular act, a one-off specific protest. But apparently trampling American flags is OK.

Trump last year: “You should get a one year jail sentence if you do anything to desecrate the American flag … Now, people will say ‘oh it’s unconstitutional.’ Those are stupid people. Those are stupid people that say that. We have to work in Congress to get a one‑year jail sentence … you get a one‑year jail sentence and you’ll never see it again.”

The Washington Post - Opinion - Firing the statistician won’t change the job numbers

03 Aug 2025

The Bureau of Labor Statistics, a unit of the Labor Department, revised its estimates for May and June payrolls sharply downward, by more than 250,000 jobs, and estimated that the economy added only 73,000 jobs in July, well below analysts’ expectations. Virtually all these new jobs came from health care and social services.

The numbers contain no sign of the manufacturing boom that President Donald Trump has promised.

This is not the sort of jobs report any president wants to see; it’s the kind that portends falling approval ratings and party losses at the next election.

So Trump took immediate, decisive action: He hopped on Truth Social and announced that he would fire Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. ...

It’s banana republic stuff, and it won’t work any better in the United States.

To all patriotic Americans (yes, you too)

How much longer are you going to put up with this lunatic 'president' who daily craps on the laws and principles that brave American soldiers have died to protect. He's not a deity, just a second-rate loudmouth who lied his way into the White House. The very least you can do is vote out his toadies in the next mid-terms. Get your act together and take back your country.

A rule of thumb: if you live in a country where the an authoritarian leader doesn't like factual employment figures, so invent a new unemployment figure
  • certainly has an authoritarian leaders
  • very likely somewhere you don't want to live.
Nazi Germany reduced official unemployment by excluding women, Jews, forced laborers, public works programs (e.g., Autobahn).

In Argentina, under authoritarian ruler Kirchner, the economy began to deteriorate and stagnate. So naturally he manipulated inflation and poverty data to paint a rosier economic picture.

The Soviet Union (USSR) officially claimed “full employment” because unemployment was ideologically considered impossible. Those that weren't employed were called parasites.

In present days, authoritarian regimes Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan often shows inflated GDP growth and virtually nonexistent unemployment, despite widespread hidden poverty.

China local officials often overstate GDP growth and underreport unemployment to meet central government targets. Urban unemployment rates often exclude migrant workers.

North Korea claims near-full employment and rapid growth.

Notice again: not time and places most would want to live in.

The Epstein thing isn't going anywhere fast, but that doesn't mean the orange buffoon wishes it would hang around:

and finally on Epstein...if Trump wants it to go away he does actually have a few options, just not any good ones:
