I wonder if The Peacebroker will offer up Greenland as a swap for some fertile Ukranian soil in his "peace talks" with Putin?

Land that neither of them have a right to...

I do love that he's so desperate to have a Nobel Peace Prize. The longer he goes without one, the longer he remains an angry embittered old orange.

Reminds me of.

Before Assad was toppled in Syria there was a move underway to declare peace.

Normalise relations with Assad, pressure rebel groups to stand down.
Freeze the situation if not roll it back.
A call to 'realism' that Assad regime was going nowhere and get back to business.

It would have been a kind of peace but really peace ?

A pause for Assad to build up and then move to a final solution from ?

There's a joke in here somewhere...

Alfred Nobel created the Peace Prize after he made a shiteload of money from blowing things up with dynamite.

Gunman in CDC attack fired over 180 shots at building [and killed a police officer] and broke 150 windows: The Guardian

The man who attacked the CDC headquarters in Atlanta on Friday fired more than 180 shots into the campus and broke about 150 windows, with bullets piercing “blast-resistant” windows and spattering glass shards into numerous rooms, according to information circulated internally at the agency.
...
A Georgia man who had blamed the Covid-19 vaccine for making him depressed and suicidal opened fire late on Friday, killing a police officer. No one at CDC was injured.

The shooter was stopped by CDC security guards before driving to a nearby pharmacy and opening fire late Friday afternoon
...
The US health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr, traveled to Atlanta and on Monday met with the agency’s director, Susan Monarez.

Monarez posted a statement on social media on Friday night that said at least four CDC buildings were hit in the attack.
...
[Wihtout speaking to the press] Kennedy issued a statement on Saturday that said “no one should face violence while working to protect the health of others,” and that top federal health officials were “actively supporting CDC staff”.

[Later when RFK spoke to a reporter, he stated that he is unaware of the gunman's motives in the CDC shooting. He added that he is working to restore the agency to a "gold standard."]

The fascist takeover of Washington DC continues ...

The NY Times - Bondi Tightens Trump Administration’s Grip on D.C. Police

breaking

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday night rescinded Washington, D.C., policies that restrict the local police from aiding in immigration enforcement as she moved to tighten the Trump administration’s grip over law enforcement in the nation’s capital.

The two-page order from Ms. Bondi also declared that Terry Cole, the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration, who had already been overseeing the federal takeover of the city’s police department, was now the “emergency police commissioner,” with “all the powers and duties” invested in the city’s police chief, Pamela A. Smith.

The police department, including Chief Smith, must now receive approval from Mr. Cole before issuing any directives, the attorney general declared.

The new directive, which seems intended to turn Washington from a sanctuary city into one that aggressively pursues undocumented immigrants, was the most overt imposition yet by the Justice Department on the city’s police since the federal takeover.

It could prove to be a new flashpoint in the relationship between the city’s Democratic leadership and the Republican administration.

re "Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday night rescinded Washington, D.C., policies that restrict the local police from aiding in immigration enforcement "

The New York Post claims before Melania Trump got her visa, she was doing paid nude photo shoots in the US. The pictures were published.

Associated Press found Melania Trump was paid for 10 modeling assignments when she was on a visitor visa

Legally, working for pay for a US company is a clear violation of the terms of that visa.

So good thing she wasn't in Washington when she ignored the law.

Stricter enforcement rules later issued by the Trump administration, such a violation could have made her a deportation priority, had her actions been discovered.

In 2000, Melania self-sponsored her green card as an individual of “extraordinary ability” (EB-1 visa), a category generally reserved for Nobel laureates, Olympic medalists, etc.

Representative Jasmine Crockett publicly questioned whether Melania’s modeling career met the EB-1’s rigorous benchmarks, hinting at possible favoritism in her visa approval.

Desperate Donald ...

The Guardian - Trump reportedly called Norwegian minister ‘out of the blue’ to ask about Nobel prize

14 Aug 2025

Donald Trump cold-called Norway’s finance minister last month to ask about a nomination for the Nobel peace prize, Norwegian press reported on Thursday.

The Norwegian outlet Dagens Næringsliv reported: “Out of the blue, while finance minister Jens Stoltenberg was walking down the street in Oslo, Donald Trump called … He wanted the Nobel prize – and to discuss tariffs."

The outlet added that it was not the first time that Trump had raised the question of a Nobel peace prize nomination to Stoltenberg.

Pathetic  🙄

Hmmm, methinks bribe territory. Let alone I cannot think of any reason for the Peace prize, very much the opposite

Putin has been on TV pre the Alaska meeting. As BAU, showering bouquets on the USA and Trump. Not really news as thats par for the course for years.

Lets see if Trump wised up as he mentioned in recent times about Putin.

Now I see that Putin has stated that the meeting will be about nuclear and the economy as well as Ukraine.

So, UKR is a minor issue. I can see Trump being wooed, so that no further sanctions, we are working together, its going GREAT. Meanwhile UKR is cast aside.

EU needs to take over. Every day the US is involved, people die. IMO get feet on the ground and planes in the air, as Starmer stated. Its either lets keep shooting for years, or not

Joseph de Maistre, a French philosopher and diplomat, 1811: "Toute nation a le gouvernement qu’elle mérite."

"Every nation has the government it deserves."

Nebraska: Historically, Nebraska heavily leans Republican.

Iowa: Trump improved his margins in 98 of 99 counties and even flipped traditionally Democratic areas; the state voted more Republican in 2024 than even Alaska did.

Not discussed in video: Alaska. They depend heavily on imported goods making Alaska uniquely vulnerable to tariffs. This year 70% of small businesses reported higher supplier costs, and 60% said they had to hike their own prices. Alaska’s vital seafood sector is export-heavy to China, and faces retaliation risks.

A meeting with just the U.S. president, a foreign leader, and interpreters, with no aides, note-takers, or official record, has only happened twice before.

That is except for Trump who did it twice with Putin. This will be his third suspicious meeting.

1985. Ronald Reagan & last leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev. 1 hour.

1997. Bill Clinton & Chinese President Jiang, 1.5 hour

2017& 2018. Trump & Putin. Each meeting over 2 hours.

The reason these meetings are suspicious
  • no formal record for U.S. archives
  • no accountability to Congress
  • no accountability to the public
