Before a few days ago I might have heard Kirk's name in relation to Turning Point and various pro-Trump events and conferences. The shooting on a university campus in front of a huge crowd of people was extremely shocking.

Even so, I figured it as random nutjob shoots random youtuber and probably of limited interest outside politics forums compared to the Colorado school shooting which occurred on the same day.

The Colorado school shooting on the same day was perpetrated by a 16 year old with a pistol, a lot of ammunition, and some combination of white supremacist ideology and admiration for the columbine shootings according to news reports. I can see why Kirk's death attracted more interest. It was relatively unusual compared to the frequency of white supremacist ideology influenced attacks.

Trump driving people to Labubu.

Is recession coming in US? Expert gives stark warning on high popularity of Labubus: Economic Times

The craze of Labubu dolls reached new heights and the recent burglary from a Los Angeles-area store is the proof. Though labubu dolls have been spotted dangling from Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent purses as fashion’s quirky new status symbol but an expert has flagged that their popularity could soon spell doom for the economy.

Studies have shown that during economic downturns, consumers are more attracted towards dopamine-spiking splurges that don’t break the bank — like lipstick, ice cream or movie tickets, labelled as "affordable luxuries" by experts. These creepy but cute mischievous Labubu dolls could be its latest iteration.
...
“Labubus are not really just a toy, but more of a tiny, tangible flex that people get to walk around with,” the economist said.

As for the next recession, Lang said one is on the way — it’s just a matter of when. Close to two million Americans are currently collecting unemployment, the most since the COVID-19 pandemic threw the economy into its last recession, new Labor Department data released Thursday revealed. The number of Americans who have been continuously receiving unemployment benefits rose by 38,000 to 1.97 million in late July, the data said.

Vance and Miller host an episode of the Charlie Kirk podcast:

BBC: Report those who celebrate Charlie Kirk death to employers, Vance says: People who celebrate the killing of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk should be held accountable, US Vice-President JD Vance has said. "Call them out, and hell, call their employer," Vance said as he guest-hosted an episode of the Charlie Kirk Show. "We don't believe in political violence, but we do believe in civility." Pilots, medical professionals, teachers and one Secret Service employee are among those who have been suspended or sacked for social media posts that were deemed inappropriate about Kirk's death. Critics have argued the firings threaten free speech and employee protections, although US companies have wide latitude to terminate employees.

There have been a few well known past cases where courts have found USA public sector employees cannot be fired for differences of opinion in a personal capacity. It's unclear where public sector cases of this kind will land when challenged.

Miller says the administration will use every resource to go after "vast domestic terror movement" etc etc.

Something tells me he's not referring to the white supremacist nutjobs at all. I've looked around for the whole episode can't find it for some reason.

Remember the Charlottesville car attack

A white supremacist terrorist in 2017. James Alex Fields Jr. deliberately drove his car into a crowd of people peacefully protesting the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia,

He killed one person and injuring 35.Fields, 20, had previously espoused neo-Nazi and white supremacist beliefs.

Trump's response:

"you had people that were very fine people, on both sides."

JD Vance and Miller could have at least pretended that all violence is not OK.
...
"I wanted to zoom out with Stephen a little bit and talk about all of the ways that we're trying to figure out how to prevent this festering violence that you see on the far left from becoming even more and more mainstream.

A lot of people are very worried about how we got here in the first place. And you have the crazies on the far left who are saying, "Oh, Steven Miller and JD Vance, they're going to go after constitutionally protected speech." No, no.

We're going to go after the NGO network that ferments, facilitates, and engages in violence.

That's not okay. Violence is not okay in our system.

And we want to make it less likely that that happens. Walk me through at a high level like what you and I have been working on, what the whole administration has been working on to try to make sure that we don't reward and promote this craziness"

NGO network could mean anything. Coming from those two it is very likely a reference to George Soros and funding of various civil groups. Needless to say, Soros also funds a range of superpacs and democratic candidates.

Based on Tyler Robinson's reported messages it seems reasonable to assume someone provided him with the murder weapon he picked up from the "drop point". As yet I have not seen any news about that aspect. Given the range of weird messages engraved on the shell casings the provider of the armaments may have had their own combination of motives.

I think the reason Vance is getting 'terror-fied' is he's panicked that the next bullet will be either aimed at him, or that he'll cop a stray meant for Trump.

Look to see Vance in disguise at future outdoor events.

Australian reporter Lyons asked Trump how much wealthier he had become since returning to the Oval Office for his second term in January, noting that he was regarded as the wealthiest man to occupy the White House.

“I don’t know,” Trump said, explaining that his children were responsible for the family business, the Trump Organization.

“But most of the deals that I’ve made were made before,” he said. “This is what I’ve done for a life. I’ve built buildings.”

The Australian reporter continued: "A president in office should not be engaged in so much business activity.

Trump: "Well, I'm really not. My kids are running the business. I'm here. You know what the activity? Where are you from?"

Australian reporter: "I'm from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Four Corners program."

Trump: "The Australians. You're hurting Australia. Right. In my opinion, you are hurting Australia very much right now and they want to get along with me.

You know, your your your leader is coming over to see me very soon. I'm going to tell them about you. You set a very bad tone."

Awww poor Donnie, his little feelings are hurt over being asked a "hard" question by that "mean" reporter. I guess his fragile masculinity just couldn't handle it 🙄

He probably wishes he'd got a reporter from this crowd instead:
