kingdragonfly: This article has a bit more of Jimmy Kimmel's comment. Note that copyright laws is chilling attempts from publishing his full transcript.

What exactly did Jimmy Kimmel say about Charlie Kirk that got him fired: ‘We hit some new lows…’: Livemint

People Magazine has a full transcript of Kimmel's jokes. Same as the video on YouTube. No surprises in there. All about Trump:

https://people.com/what-did-jimmy-kimmel-say-about-charlie-kirks-death-on-his-late-night-show-read-the-full-transcript-11812440

TVNZ reporting says both Disney and Nexstar have billion dollar mergers in the works:

"Both Disney and Nexstar have FCC business ahead of them. Disney is seeking regulatory approval for ESPN's acquisition of the NFL Network and Nexstar needs the Trump administration go-ahead to complete its US$6.2 billion (NZ$10.5 billion) purchase of broadcast rival Tegna."

I removed the image but that was clearly manipulated. Shouldn't have been posted.

The Don has gone into Full Egomaniac mode ...

The NY Times - Trump Asks Supreme Court to Allow Removal of Fed Governor  (unlocked link)

breaking

The Trump administration on Thursday asked the Supreme Court to allow the president to remove Lisa Cook as a Federal Reserve governor, setting up a key test of presidential power with potentially huge economic consequences.

President Trump has moved aggressively to fire leaders of independent agencies as he seeks to expand executive power and seize control of the federal bureaucracy. His administration has targeted the central bank for months, pressing policymakers to lower interest rates.

The court’s conservative majority has repeatedly allowed Mr. Trump to at least provisionally fire leaders of other agencies without stating a reason, despite statutes passed by Congress designed to ensure political independence. ...

The emergency request to the Supreme Court came three days after an appeals court refused to allow the president to remove Ms. Cook, who was appointed by President Joseph R. Biden Jr., while her lawsuit challenging her firing was pending.

From Yahoo:

After-dinner drinks were drowning in symbolism. It's a 1945 vintage port, in honour of Trump having been the 45th US president, although he does not drink alcohol.

There was a 1912 cognac, from the birth year of the president's Scottish-born mother.

Cowards. They should have had a 2013 port, the birth year of girls that Donald Trump thinks are OK.

Thanks for doing that - the one about Tucker Carlson was correct though - as per here: https://ca.news.yahoo.com/tucker-carlson-says-trump-administration-140957975.html

These ones are more satire than imagery:

This one reminds me of Jeb Bush saying "Please clap" during a 2016 campaign speech:

and this one indeed points out the irony:

Stacking the deck. The US is screwed.

Senate confirms 48 of Trump’s nominees at once after changing the chamber’s rules: AP News

The Senate has confirmed 48 of President Donald Trump’s nominees at once, voting for the first time under new rules to begin clearing a backlog of executive branch positions that had been delayed by Democrats.

Frustrated by the stalling tactics, Senate Republicans moved last week to make it easier to confirm large groups of lower-level, non-judicial nominations. Democrats had forced multiple votes on almost every one of Trump’s picks, infuriating the president and tying up the Senate floor.

The new rules allow Senate Republicans to move multiple nominees with a simple majority vote — a process that would have previously been blocked with just one objection. The rules don’t apply to judicial nominations or high-level Cabinet posts.

Despite Trump swooping in and taking credit, the fighting broke out between neighboring Armenia and Azerbaijan, Trump had very little to do with it.

Trump's administration, not him, tried to mediate but achieved very little. The U.S.-brokered ceasefire collapsed almost immediately, and the final outcome was shaped almost exclusively by Russia (and to a lesser extent Turkey).

You'd think if Trump did indeed broker the peace, at some point he stopped mistaking Armenia and Albania. They are 2,000 KM apart, 4 time zones apart.

Additional bonus to Trump if he could at least learn how to pronounce Azerbaijan, mispronounced for the third time in different occasions.

You'll remember Trump claimed brokering peace between India and Pakistan, which still infuriates Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Does Trump Know the Difference Between Armenia and Albania?: New Republic

For at least the third time, President Donald Trump on Thursday mistook the country of Armenia for Albania, falsely claiming he’d brought an end to an Azerbaijan-Albania conflict that never took place. The gaffe came during a press conference in England, where the president touted his purported record as a peacemaker.

Attempting to mention a peace declaration he arranged, laying the groundwork to end a decades-long conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Trump said: “To think that we settled … uh … Aberbaijan and Albania, as an example.” (Beyond the country mix-up, the president botched the pronunciation of Azerbaijan)
