If, like me, you felt there was something amiss with the results of the 2024 US Presidential election, please spend 28 minutes watching this clip. It seems quite possible that there could have been some very sophisticated manipulation of the totals in certain ares of the country. Definitely worth a full watch.

I hate Trump with a passion ... but "Election Truth Alliance" is missing a lot proof.

Hanlon’s Razor: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

in game theory and political science this Self-defeating behavior/“cutting off your nose to spite your face” can be called
  • Spiteful preferences: deriving satisfaction from reducing someone else’s payoff, even at cost to oneself.

  • Negative-sum strategies: all players end up worse off.

  • Perverse incentives: the rules of a system encourage harmful choices.
In particular ETA’s “93%” figure aligns with the share of NC counties using ES&S machines (93 out of 100). But that’s not the same as “machines lacking full certification.” ETA appears to conflate vendor prevalence with “lack of certification testing.” They appear to treat “using ES&S machines” plus “not clear evidence of full certification tests (to their satisfaction)” as enough to assert that machines “did not receive full certification testing.”

They talk about "chaos” that “may have provided opportunities for bad actors.” But they stop short of presenting physical proof the tabulator recoding was improper or manipulated.

Frankly there statistical evidence is also weak. I won't go into details, but many events could be a "stretch": unusual, but not unlikely.

Yes, I'm saying American voters are self-destructive, self-sabotaging and short-sighted and spiteful, in particular in the South East.

BBC News - Six years ago Trump's UN audience laughed, this year they were silent...

Washington Post columnist Ishaan Tharoor wrote, “I’ve reported on every Trump UNGA speech. This is easily the craziest one.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s verdict: “What a disgrace.”

My summary: too bizarre to summarize.

Gavin (or his alter-ego) also (quite amusingly) said this, too:

gzt: ABC isn't concerned about their license. ABC and a partner have a couple of mergers planned for approval.

Plus, they can divert to streaming which is unregulated (yet)

Donald Trump and his medical "expert" Robert F. Kennedy Jr have just announced that paracetamol causes autism, and that his officials plan to tout a lesser-known drug, leucovorin, as a potential autism treatment.

This is pure unadulterated Trump / Kennedy BS.

The Guardian - AMA president says no studies show paracetamol use in pregnancy causes autism

today

Danielle McMullen, the president of the Australian Medical Association (AMA), said this morning there are no studies showing paracetamol use in pregnancy causes autism. ...

"There are no studies showing that paracetamol use in pregnancy causes autism"

"There have been some studies showing what we call an association between paracetamol use and autism in children, but there’s also been really large studies showing that there’s no association. And it’s important to remember that association doesn’t mean cause."

"It could be that there’s a whole range of things that happened during pregnancies, and one of those was that the pregnant mother took paracetamol, but it also could be that she had a fever or there were genetic factors."

"In fact, in autism, it’s most likely that autism is linked with genetic factors as its primary driver, but we really don’t know the full cause of autism."

Disclosure: I am a retired Australian paediatrician.

EDIT:

Radio NZ - 'Safest medicine to take'

today

Chief Science Advisor Dr Ian Town of the New Zealand Ministry of Health said its advice had not changed.

"Paracetamol continues to be the safest medicine to take in pregnancy if you require pain relief or treatment for fever," he told RNZ in a statement.

"The safety of all medicines continues to be monitored in New Zealand by Medsafe. We also continue to monitor emerging information about the safety and effectiveness of the products overseas."

He said Cuba has no autism. Cuban doctors said the opposite as expected.

Watched a clip on this. Autism hasn't increased, but diagnosis has increased, showing more stats, but the level of incidence is unchanged.

These guys are fixated in autism.

It won't be long before Trumptler is influenced by his Minister of Propaganda Stephen Miller and starts T4.

Fixated in Trumps context, is diverging, get eyes and ears to look elsewhere. Seeks a win, looks good, sounds good, but its a narcissist divergence for success in his one dimension mind.

BBC News - Six years ago Trump's UN audience laughed, this year they were silent

today

Donald Trump's speech to the United Nations was one of the clearest expositions of the way he sees the world, his ideology in its rawest form.

To his supporters, it will be seen as Trumpism unplugged; to his critics, Trumpism unhinged.

Over almost an hour, he took aim at his opponents and their ideas, picking them off one by one as he toured the world. He began at home, praising the United States and himself.

He said the US was living through a golden age and repeated his much-disputed claim that he had personally ended seven wars, something he argued merited a Nobel Peace Prize.

But then the president laid into his hosts. The UN, he said, had not helped his peace-making. He questioned the organisation's purpose, saying it had tremendous potential but was not living up to that. ...

Climate change, he claimed to audible gasps, was "the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world" and was lumbering European countries with expensive energy costs compared to fossil fuels. ...

"If you don't get away from the green energy scam, your country is going to fail," he said. ...

Six years ago Trump's audience at the UN laughed at his at times unfactual assertions; this year they listened largely in silence.

"I am really good at this stuff," he told world leaders. "Your countries are going to hell."

See also my earlier post, with free links to The NY Times and the Washington Post

I and others said a long while back that he feels emboldened by his second term. First term was usual BS, this term he is a bulldog. But as the US is so powerful, other Govts cannot be honest, they have to cave. Smile, shake hands, give him the required compliments and pandering, that gets each Govt what it hoped for. Behind closed doors, we all know what Govts and leaders think. Soon enough he will be gone, so, they pander to help their citizens, knowing that the farce of all farces will end. When that happens, US will be weaker, EU etc will be stronger as they gradually release the trade tendons of the US. THEN, the US will have to work hard to be part of the "other" international community

The Bulwark has a great piece on the orange buffoon's ridiculous speech to the UN (and the escalator that stopped working, which his administration is seeking "accountability" for):

https://www.thebulwark.com/p/the-worlds-brittlest-ego-meets-the-globes-biggest-stage-trump-un-speech-putin-russia-zelensky-ukraine-tylenol

After rattling off a long list of international wins, Trump said this: “Everyone says that I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for each one of these achievements.”

At first, I laughed at this comment. But then I realized that this wasn’t just bluster. Trump doesn’t just think he deserves a stack of Nobels—he actually thinks that everyone thinks this.

Think of what it’s like to go through life as this guy. You’ve just spent a decade purging your party and personnel of all but the most pliable and spineless tongue-bathers and yes-men. You sit atop perhaps the largest and most powerful cult of personality the world has ever seen. You’ve repeatedly demonstrated your love for retaliatory action against everyone who displeases you on any matter, no matter how petty—business leaders, opposition politicians, international leaders. And recently, you’ve shown zero compunction about wielding the entire U.S. government to settle those scores.

The result is a life crammed with people, from sunup to sundown, who do absolutely nothing but kiss your ass. It doesn’t matter if you’re meeting with your staff, your congressional allies, business leaders in your country, foreign allies, foreign foes—every single person you meet knows their best course of action is to spend the whole interaction buttering you like a roll. Add that on top of your preexisting lifelong egomania, and it’s a wonder you haven’t actually gotten around to proclaiming yourself Lord of the World.

For the record, I'd love to know what/where these "seven wars" he keeps banging on ending about were?

Some nutjob writes "anti-ice" on a bullet casing and snipes at ICE office in Dallas killing one detainee and seriously injuring another detainee, then shoots self:

Law enforcement currently saying the attack was politically motivated. Imo it looks more like some nutty suicide plan.

"Only the best people" 🙄

and get a load of this: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/574093/trump-says-secret-service-probing-sabotage-of-escalator-at-un

Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform, said an escalator carrying him and his wife Melania "came to a screeching halt" on the way to the main floor, nearly causing them to fall. He called for the arrest of whoever was responsible.

He also said his teleprompter went dark at the start of his speech and that world leaders in the hall could not hear him because the sound system had failed.

"Not one, not two, but three very sinister events!" Trump wrote.

Jesus...paranoid much?

I wonder if Trump will go the way of Nicolae Ceausescu Romanian Dictator who, apparently, had complete daily wardrobe changes in hermetically sealed plastic bags — one for each day of the year. The bags were stored in a secret, heavily guarded warehouse. Shoes and clothing for the current day were burned. A new ensemble was opened in Ceausescu’s presence and laid out for him. Spot checks were routinely carried out to ensure a fresh bag had not been opened or tampered with.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Have patience, he has to finish his mausoleum (ballroom) first.

Ceausescu's vanity project was a palace so bigly huge it sinks by 6mm/year. The ballroom may be smaller but Washington is built on a swamp after all.
