quickymart: as to the Human Rights watchlist: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jul/30/us-civil-society-watchlist-trump

That is a civic freedom watchlist. Not exactly a human rights watchlist.

You're right - but even then, still not a good thing.

This Friday, this year's Nobel Peace Prize will be announced. I fear that someone in his glittering wannabe palace will be very upset. 😎

Note: Europeans (especially Norwegians) are NOT MAGAmericans, they just have to „deal“ with it.

Recognition of the State of Palestine in the U.N by the USA and it's associated holdouts would almost certainly get Trump the Nobel Peace Prize imo. Without recognition of Palestine - no chance.

Trump's current plan does not mention recognition and gives Netanyahu the ability to drop a peace deal at any time that suits Netanyahu's corruption court avoidance strategies.

Trump has pushed to get voter rolls from all states. He set a deadline of this Friday. For reasons unknown, he seeks information that includes full names, addresses, drivers’ license numbers and final digits of Social Security numbers.

In South Carolina, its state constitution guarantees residents a right to privacy.

Trump’s Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Justice Harmeet Dhillon targeted a Judge Diane Goodstein.

"This Justice Dept’s Civil Rights will not stand for a state court judge’s hasty nullification of our federal voting laws. I will allow nothing to stand in the way of our mandate to maintain clean voter rolls. One Citizen, One Vote!”"

Judge Diane Goodstein’s ruled releasing a voter’s personal information could cause “immediate and irreparable damage” in violating her right to privacy.

Yesterday, Stephen Miller went after all “far-left Democrat judges,” accusing them of “shielding” left-wing terrorism.

Two days later, Judge Diane Goodstein's house was set on fire.

Arson is suspected. Hmmm. I wonder who is shielding whom of terrorism?

Oh well, just another day of peace in Trumpland like the 6 January riot.

Protect Trump's civil right to an election where only potential democrat votes are questioned:

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-six-states-failure-provide-voter-registration-rolls

Bondi's vague attempt to use civil rights legislation doesn't make much sense. This might be another one for the Supreme Court to sort out eventually, if it gets that far. It's pretty obvious the Trump team is planning to go fishing in majority black democrat areas, and add a side of hispanic names here and there.

Is he personally going to go through the entire American electorate and see who didn't vote for him, and then hunt them down?

Jesus, how pathetic and childish. He won, for God's sake! 😠

Seems to be saying that the Department of Justice has sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's blackmail tapes.

Commerce Secretary Calls Jeffrey Epstein ‘The Greatest Blackmailer Ever’: Time

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick accused convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein of being “the greatest blackmailer ever” in a new interview, diverging from the Trump Administration’s efforts to downplay concerns over the Epstein case.

Speaking with the New York Post’s Miranda Devine for a podcast episode, the commerce secretary alleged that Epstein could have given federal authorities video footage of his associates receiving massages from young women in return for a controversial 2008 plea deal, though Lutnick admitted that he had “no knowledge” of the situation and didn’t provide any evidence to back up his claim.

Lutnick, who lived next door to Epstein on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 2005, said that Epstein once showed him and his wife a “massage room” in Epstein's townhouse and made a suggestive comment to them. The commerce secretary said he and his wife decided that he would “never be in the room with that disgusting person ever again.”

“What happened in that massage room, I assume, was on video,” Lutnick said. “This guy was the greatest blackmailer ever, blackmailed people. That’s how he had money.”
...
The lenient deal has since been the subject of widespread scrutiny and conspiracy theories—along with many other aspects of Epstein’s life and case.
...
Acosta went on to serve as Labor Secretary in Trump’s first Administration, but resigned in 2019 as he faced mounting questions over the plea deal. He has previously defended how he handled Epstein’s case.
...
The Epstein case has generated renewed interest in recent months after the Justice Department and FBI released a memo this summer in which they concluded that Epstein didn’t have a “client list” of co-conspirators and that his 2019 death in jail was a suicide
...
President Donald Trump himself has faced scrutiny over his years-long friendship with Epstein
...
Multiple members of the Trump Administration had previously promoted conspiracy theories related to Epstein’s case, but have walked back those comments as the President and top officials have tried to dismiss the concerns.

The general trend in the US is life expectancies are getting shorter, even ignoring COVID's influence.

The other trend is the more conservative your state, the shorter your life expectancies. California, Hawaii, and New York the highest. Alabama, West Virginia and Mississippi the lowest.

From "Population Reference Bureau" a "nonpartisan, not-for-profit research organization focused on improving people’s health and well-being through evidence-based policies and practices."

Life Expectancy Is Increasingly Tied to a State's Policy Leanings

People in U.S. states with more liberal policies can expect to live longer than their peers in states with more conservative policies, thanks in part to laws on minimum wages, tobacco taxes, gun safety, and the environment, according to new research.

Life expectancy differences among states have widened in recent years, as state policies have become more polarized. In general, states where policies have become more liberal have added years to their residents’ lives more quickly, while states where policies have veered conservative have seen slower gains in life expectancy

Isn't that going to happen to everyone as the economy tanks regardless of who they voted for?

Three property developer landlords who some have accused of being slumlords:

- Donald Trump
- Steve Witkoff
- Jared Kushner

who are now negotiating the future of a bulldozed strip of Palestine. Who could have predicted that? Incredible.

Jared Kushner - Series 2, Episode 3, Dirty Money. There are very few excerpts of the documentary on YouTube for some reason. YouTube video has unfortunate title:

JD Vance Funded AcreTrader. Here’s Why That Matters.: Civil Eats

Some of the most pristine farmland in California can be yours, at least by proxy, in just a matter of minutes. That’s the promise that AcreTrader, a company with the mission of simplifying investing in valuable U.S. farmland, makes to prospective financiers.
...
AcreTrader is just one of many companies launched in the past decade that facilitate the sale of farmland, which has increasingly become a staple in investor portfolios. Recently, it was revealed that this includes the investment portfolio of vice presidential nominee JD Vance, the Republican senator from Ohio.
...
“It’s just the expansion of the Real Estate Investment Trust [REIT] business model into farmland,” said Taber. “It’s basically like a mutual fund for real estate.”

[It] opens the doors to large-scale real estate investments for smaller investors. It’s a model that has enabled real estate hedge funds to buy up large swaths of the housing market, driving up demand and prices. Recently, companies have begun applying a REIT-like model to land.
