Well I can see a GREAT reply post to Trumps AI Garbage...

" Our real heroes, the men and women in our armed services, on real missions under real enemy fire"

<Switch to clip of Trump plan dropping sh!t>

"They did not SH!T themselves"

<Back to Trump with his crown, but with King changed to Coward"

"Call name Coward, or as you know him Major Bone Spurs"

Newsom actually posted an AI video as well in response to Trump's nonsense (which I can't find at the moment), but it's basically the same as the orange buffoon's, however Newsom is flying the plane dropping crap on the thugs violently invading the Capitol on January 6 instead.

MichaelNZ: I am breaking ranks here but the clear facts are the Woke Right are not doing anything the Woke Left didn't already set the ground work for. In some ways they are just being more overtly debased about it.

I get your general idea. I'm struggling to think of any real examples.

Sounds like someone still smarting from the fact that during a global pandemic with tens of millions of deaths they were forced to make a choice between taking a vaccine (to help reduce the risk of death or serious illness in others) or facing the consequences of not taking a vaccine (others seek to exclude them to minimise their risk of exposure to those likely to have more severe infections).

For as long as politics has existed Authoritarians have had a PR spin lined up.

Something the Woke Left and Woke Right can agree on is anything they want "is for the common good".

The left were on top and milked it as hard as they could, and now they are not, and this has made them angry the populace rejected their self assured greatness. Now the right are having a go at this playbook too. The left will deny it but the reason the right is able to proceed is because they have a buy-in from a large number of their fellow voting citizens.

The pendulum swings back hard.

Whereas any rational person looks and sees they are both as bad as each other and in this a certain satisfaction in seeing the sacred idols of both sides are crashing down.

My two cents is sit back, grab some popcorn and don't volunteer to fight in any wars.

I don't think Biden was an authoritarian. Trump? definitely (cancelling and/or arresting and/or threatening people who disagree with him), but Biden, not really.

Hell, Harris wasn't really either, for that matter - and I quote her here:

https://x.com/KamalaHarris/status/1849578386902921397?lang=en

"Trump has an enemies list. I have a to-do list."

That's a matter of perspective. To the MAGA hat wearing crowd its Trump who is the great liberator.

As a previous poster so eloquently put (in effect - not an actual quote) its all for the greater good and liberal minded folk should just be damn happy The Dear Leader does it all for the greater good.

For sure. But to everyone else? A childish, thin-skinned narcissist who cannot handle any criticism, and anyone who doesn't agree he's wonderful and amazing and blah blah blah is an enemy who needs to be cut down to size or put in their place. If he doesn't get his way he becomes a spoilt, petulant child having a tantrum (see: his loss in the 2020 election).

Again, I don't remember Biden or Harris threatening comedians who mocked them, and that happened quite a bit across Biden's term.

Trump ran against Hillary Clinton in 2016 and won. President Trump ran against Biden in 2020 and lost. At that point Team Trump organized the January 6th events in an attempt to disrupt the transfer of office. There really was no precedent for that in a pendulum sense.

I always thought it was "anything not conservative". But I could be wrong. Ask the orange buffoon and it's "terrorists, thugs, the radical left, Antifa, RINOs, basically anyone who disagrees with me" 🙄

The difference is covid restrictions were based on scientific evidence, experience and recommendations.

I don't see a lot of reason behind the actions of the Trump regime.

This is such a silly argument. It is like toddlers crying 'Jimmy hit me first', or Luxon bleating that it is all Labour's fault. I don't care whose fault it is, or who is more to blame. All I care about is how can we fix this? That usually means everyone pulling together.

You guys are feeding a troll. There are obvious logical Fallacies in "Left-wing woke is as bad as right-wing woke"

False equivalence / Moral equivalence

“Left woke = right woke” ignores differences in who is harmed, who holds power, and what tactics are used.

Equating progressive social justice movements with much more violent culture war tactics ignores their different foundations.

Straw Man

Reducing left-wing "woke" to censorship and right-wing "woke" to conspiracy theories, then equating them.

Hasty generalization

Observing a few extreme left incidents and generalizing “the whole left” behaves that way.

For example I could point to recent pro-Trump / anti-King protestors pointing guns at peaceful protestors, and then say "see what the right wing woke does!"

Whataboutism

Someone already mentioned. "You say right-wing woke is bad? Well, left-wing woke is just as bad!"

False balance / Appeal to moderation

Saying both sides are equally bad as a way to avoid making a judgment on effects.

For example: Fascism and an attempted violent coup attempt in the USA is as bad as trans athletes, and drag queens.

Tu quoque, You Too! Appeal to hypocrisy

“You say the right does X; but the left work does Y!” This sidesteps whether X is right or wrong.

ICE’s ‘Athletically Allergic’ Recruits: The Atlantic

Push-ups, sit-ups, and a brisk jog pose a threat to Trump’s deportation campaign.

President Donald Trump’s plan to double the size of the ICE workforce has met a foe more powerful than any activist group. It is decimating new recruits at the agency’s training academy in Georgia. It is the ICE personal-fitness test.

More than a third have failed so far, four officials told me, impeding the agency’s plan to hire, train, and deploy 10,000 deportation officers by January. To pass, recruits must do 15 push-ups and 32 sit-ups, and run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes.

“It’s pathetic,” one career ICE official told me, adding that before now, a typical class of 40 recruits had only a couple of candidates fail, because the screening process was more rigorous.

The academy’s standards have already been eased to boost recruitment, he said, and the new parameters “should be the minimum for any officer.” He and others, none of whom were authorized to speak with reporters, told me that agency veterans are concerned about the quality of the new recruits being fast-tracked onto the street to meet Trump’s hiring goals.
