Must admit I am quite astonished by the transformation in James (and his wife, possibly moreso) since he became Vice President. He does look kinda tired and worn out.

And we're only 9 months in...

To be fair you could find equally contrasting photos of just about anybody.

I think, sadly, Occupy Democrats focus on picking the fly shit out of the pepper instead of taking on meatier more important issues.

If you ask me it's this sort of attitude that allowed Trump to be successful in the Presidential election.

Conversely, Breitbart fall over themselves to do the exact same thing about the Democrats (as does Fox News). But Occupy Democrats do look at more complex issues, I just saw that one and found it interesting.

And I don't think that reason you state is the main one as to why Trump won last year, not by a long shot.  There were a whole host of reasons, that one was probably quite minor. If you'd taken that logic and applied it to Trump and the appalling way he speaks to/about people he doesn't like or who disagree with him/challenge him, it should have resulted a landslide win for Harris. So I don't believe that was a factor.

Another Trump Nepo-Baby gets a massive leg up over the competition...

She's currently ranked 461st in the game, but she gets a "sponsor exemption" to play against the best of the best because...well...the surname.

Well, at least the Speaker of the House has grown (something of) a spine and said there's "no path" for the orange buffoon to serve a third term. Whether that actually comes to pass and Trump is just winding people up? Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Trump has been frequently screaming at visitors "I'm wearing this from now on, the best gold gourd, which I won from God during my beautful wrestling match. You all saw it! Don't deny it!"

It is a gold painted hollowed out gourd, attached with a string around his waist, and Trump is wearing nothing else. Since marble is slippery, while yelling he frequently hold onto furniture for support. He often slowly gyrates at apprecitive crowds.

The Speaker of the House say that Trump is still fit as President, and gourd wearing has always been popular.

President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea presented President Trump with a necklace & a replica of a golden crown

The NY Times - South Korea’s president gives Trump a crown evoking ancient history.

29 Oct 2025

President Trump has sometimes likened himself to a king. Now he has been given a crown.

Or at least a replica of one that researchers believe was worn by an ancient Korean ruler.

Mr. Trump received the crown from President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea when they met on Wednesday in the city of Gyeongju.

Mr. Lee also gave Mr. Trump the Grand Order of Mugunghwa, South Korea’s highest decoration, in the form of a shiny, ornate necklace.

I’d like to wear it right now,” Mr. Trump said.

All in the very best of taste ...  🙃

EDIT:  according to Reuters:

The day will wrap up with a dinner with the leaders of Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Thailand, and Singapore.

The leaders will be served Trump Chardonnay and Trump Cabernet Sauvignon, from a winery run by Trump's son, Eric Trump ...

Korea and everyone else has to play the cards the USA voter has given the world.
For good of your country, you have to.

I think there was an interview with the Queen.
She was describing the weight of the crown was such you had to make sure to keep you neck straight.
Bordering on dangerous?

Maybe Trump would demand to wear this large top heavy snugly fitted crown.
He is old accident might happen.

Then we get J.D. Vance !, maybe the crown idea came from Mr Thiel :-)

3 and a bit more years to go still.

Why Hanseatic citizens have not accepted medals and decorations since 1270:

„One person happily pins it to their lapel to let it sparkle on their proudly puffed-out chest. Another accepts it gratefully, but keeps the precious item at home – for personal edification. Still others refer to medals as ‘dog tags’ or ‘frivolous pomp’ and rigorously reject the whole ‘nonsense’. In Hamburg in particular, it is difficult to make a name for oneself with honours. Because Hanseatics, it has always been said, do not accept medals – or are not allowed to accept them.

It sounds good somehow. Proud and sublime, free and independent. And entirely in keeping with the civic spirit of our constitution: ‘There is no lord above you and no servant below you.’ It is traditional practice that the acceptance of noble titles and orders by mayors, senators, members of parliament and civil servants is at least frowned upon. That's what they say. And that's usually the case. But is it right? Recently, more and more voices have been raised to say that the supposedly ‘long-standing’ obligation to refuse such honours does not actually exist de jure: contrary to all assertions, the Hamburg city law of 1270 contains no explicit prohibition.„

I disagree, but not in a bad way

Trump is an arse. That is an exponential understatement. While leaders fawn to him, they also laugh at him behind closed doors. To satisfy their constituents, you do the needful. Arse lick an idiot so your country get what they want. They could politely disagree, then you have bad mouth and 80% tariffs. Or you could fawn him and be the best PM/leader ever and get benefits (for your people) In 3.5 years, its over, normal service will resume.

Not that any American seems to care but the U.S. Constitution’s Emoluments Clause forbids officials from accepting gifts from foreign states without congressional consent.

With Trump accepting foreign gifts, it project the opposite: hierarchy, vanity, and subservience to foreign flattery, undermining the ideal of self-governing civic dignity.

There’s no actual law about it in Hamburg, but the idea that you shouldn’t take honors is still strong.

Trump’s acceptance of gifts might be technically legal, depending on Trump's process and reporting. It still raises moral and civic questions.
