Some background: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald-trump-reaction-oval-office-medical-emergency_n_690cfe02e4b027afb322c241?origin=home-zone-b-unit

Man suffers medical incident in White House, everyone nearby steps in to assist, bar one person (guess who).

"WAHHH! THIS ISN'T ALL ABOUT ME! WHY SHOULD I CARE???" 🙄

I can imagine earlier presidents jumping in to see what they could do to help, but oh noooo, not Trump...

Funny story about this Houston TV channel that speaks volumes about Texan's priorities.

A couple of years ago, the TV channel interrupted a "Buffalo Bills" NFL game with 23 seconds left for a tornado warning, which infuriated viewers. It was, for real, criticized for prioritizing public safety over sports coverage, suggested the tornado warning could have waited till after thee game.

Anyhow, critical US airport employee are federal and paid by the government.

The two companies reducing their fat drug prices in the US will receive valuable regulatory and market concessions.

They get priority/“national priority” review vouchers. In English faster FDA review.

They will also get expanded access to the enormous Medicare market.

Trump has increased the value of lobbying and political influence. He routinely trades regulatory/market favors for price-cuts. Drug firms lobby and hold out for a big, centralized deal. Industrywide reforms die on the vine.

Ozempic: Before these US concessions kick in, current U.S. list price (no insurance) vs NZ private price: NZ cost is 72% lower than the U.S. list price.

NZ private price currently about NZ$500/month.

Zepbound: product not yet be widely available in NZ yet.

Trump official says Americans will lose ’135 billion’ pounds by 2026 midterms: Yahoo

Dr. Mehmet Oz was front and center Thursday as President Donald Trump unveiled a new deal with two pharmaceutical giants to expand coverage and reduce prices for their popular obesity treatments.
...
Trump administrators touted the deals with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk that will make certain Medicare and Medicaid enrollees eligible for reduced-price obesity and diabetes drugs like Ozempic and Zepbound.
...
Oz said “Mr. President, our estimate, based on the company numbers as well, is that Americans will lose 135 billion pounds by the midterms.”

The Census Bureau’s latest estimate placed the current U.S. population at 342 million. Going off that number, every American would need to lose about 394 pounds over the next year to hit Oz’s figure.

“And I will tell you right now, as God is my witness,” [Steve] Bannon told the crowd. “If we lose the midterms, if we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison – myself included..."

Gee Steve, I dunno...maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't do illegal crap and you won't go to prison? Just a thought 🤷‍♂️

Also, oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

"Grinder" for a sandwich, primarily used in New England.

Origin either comes from Italian-American dockworkers slang , or it refers to the tough, hard crust of the bread that required a lot of chewing to "grind" through.

I still remember when the orange buffoon used to call him "Sleepy Joe" Biden. How things change so much in just a couple of short years.

Well, that's how it is when a nation's value system is hijacked by desperate wannabe elites with their own ideas and interests. They now have to live with what has been recklessly lost through political apathy and intellectual laziness. Even the last line of defence will break, that much is clear.

They're the modern stone-age family
From the town of Bedrock

When you're with the Flintstones
Have a yabba-dabba-doo time
A dabba-doo time
We'll have a gay old time
