Europe is under no illusions. The US has embarked on a policy of superpower politics that cares nothing for anything that is not in its own interests.

The NY Times - Opinion - Why Trump Won’t Face Prosecution When He Leaves Office in 2029

25 Nov 2025

Donald Trump, well on his way to becoming the most corrupt president in American history, will almost certainly escape criminal prosecution after leaving office.

Even though Trump has defied the law and the Constitution more egregiously in his second term than he did in his first, most legal experts agree that he will face few, if any, of the kind of prosecutions he was confronted with after grudgingly leaving office in 2021. ...

While Trump’s culpability may seem crystal clear to some, legal experts contend that the conservative majority on the Supreme Court has so muddied the law that prosecutors would face many hurdles - perhaps insurmountable - trying to bring a case against him.

I've Disobeyed an Illegal Order. Trump is Wrong

Combat Veteran News
...
Why do I know a little bit about disobeying illegal orders? because I received one in combat and I disobeyed it. I'm Paul, US Army combat veteran.
...
I want to share my own story, right?
...
it was just about securing the [Afghanistan] scene and collecting up the damaged vehicle and towing it back to the base to be uh, repaired or disposed of. Right? But there was a catch. You see, two individuals who had been in who had been shot planting the the [bomb.]... These guys show up right so they bring one of them one of them is [who we though was dead but] he is very much alive and he is lying he had been dumped on the ground next to a a military vehicle right and I was like what do you I got there. The person in charge of the patrol was a squad leader, right? So, I was a lieutenant at the time, so he was below me. So, I was in charge of this situation. I was the ranking officer on the scene. And so, I say, "Hey guys, what what's what's going on with this dude? He's just lying here." They go, "Oh, he's a combatant." And I'm like, "Uh, well, he's in our custody and under the law of war, he's now a prisoner. He's a combatant. He's alive and the and combat has passed. He is a prisoner of war." And I go, "He's a wounded prisoner of war. we don't have any of our own wounded. Treat him. And so I order my medic begin treatment of this guy. ...But then the company commander of this neighboring unit arrives. He outranks me and he marches up. He says, "Who's this guy you're treating?" I say, "Well, they reported it's a combatant. He was engaged. He's alive. We called a medevac. Medevac's on its way." He says, "F_ck this guy. Turn him over to the Afghans." Now that is an unlawful order. He is a prisoner of war in American custody and we are not going we can't legally just stop treating him say [ __ ] this guy give him to the Afghans. ... that's where his Afghan interpreter chimes in and really sort of saves the day. He doesn't realize it because he adds some some other thing like, "Yeah, [ __ ] that guy." And that's when I'm like, "Great, because I can't lecture a captain, but I can lecture an interpreter." So, I turn to the interpreter. I go, "I interpreter, here's where you don't understand. We're American soldiers bound by the Geneva Convention.

The Washington Post - Trump wants a bigger White House ballroom. His architect disagrees.

26 Nov 2025

President Donald Trump has argued with the architect he handpicked to design a White House ballroom over the size of the project, reflecting a conflict between architectural norms and Trump’s grandiose aesthetic ...

Trump’s desire to go big with the project has put him at odds with architect James McCrery II, who has counseled restraint over concerns the planned 90,000-square-foot addition could dwarf the 55,000-square-foot mansion in violation of a general architectural rule: don’t build an addition that overshadows the main building.

Trump will probably win - another tasteless ego trip at his donors' expense ...   😟

"Trump aesthetic". Maybe first he mentally grows and reaches, he can climb to at least the "tacky" level.

Reuters - Trump’s campaign of retribution: At least 470 targets and counting

26 Nov 2025

In his second term, Donald Trump has turned a campaign pledge to punish political opponents into a guiding principle of governance.

What began as a provocative rallying cry in March 2023 – “I am your retribution” – has hardened into a sweeping campaign of retaliation against perceived enemies, reshaping federal policy, staffing and law enforcement.

A tally by Reuters reveals the scale: At least 470 people, organizations and institutions have been targeted for retribution since Trump took office ...

The Trump vengeance campaign fuses personal vendettas with a drive for cultural and political dominance, Reuters found.

Yes, it is. But the new ballroom will be the main building! 😁🤣

From 3 days ago

Off subject, Thanksgiving U.S. totals are orders of magnitude smaller than China’s trips over Chunyun, China’s annual Spring-Festival travel rush.

The shutdown is over. Flights have resumed. Thanksgiving travelers might wonder: What now?: ABC
...
A week after lifting the unprecedented flight restrictions it placed on commercial airlines during the shutdown, the Federal Aviation Administration is preparing for its busiest Thanksgiving week in 15 years, with more than 360,000 flights scheduled between Monday and next Tuesday. That’s more than 17.8 million people who will be screened by the Transportation Security Administration.

AAA projects 1.3 million more travelers will be on the roads than last year, pushing the total number of people traveling by car to at least 73 million.

Not directly related to Trump, but will certainly Trump will get the blame, which is great. Plus will be good news for New Zealand farmers.

Short version how Trump may jump on this:

Reporter: "How about groceries prices going up?"

Trump: "nasty question, little pig. False news. Prices are going down."

Reporter: "Is Mexico making prices go up? for Thanksgiving"

Trump: "Great question. Love your show. Yes, it's those damn Mexican communist truck drivers raising grocery prices. That and Venezuela terrorists"

Protest in Mexico stopping produce from hitting U.S. grocery stores

A handy flowchart for decoding MAGA bs:

Also; harsh/accurate:

So much for the "Sleepy Joe" moniker that the orange buffoon made (seemingly endlessly) about Biden. Hypocrite much?

The Guardian - Denmark sets up ‘night watch’ to monitor Trump after Greenland row

28 Nov 2025

The Danish government has set up a “night watch” in the foreign ministry ... to monitor Donald Trump’s pronouncements and movements while Copenhagen sleeps.

The night watch starts at 5pm local time each day and at 7am a report is produced and distributed around the Danish government and relevant departments about what was said and took place ...

The position is understood to have been introduced in the aftermath of the diplomatic row between Copenhagen and Washington over Greenland this spring, when the US president threatened to take control of the Arctic island.
