I don't believe it has reached the time the tens of millions of lives should be taken.

So we should wait until something somewhere hits, and possibly takes more lives?

But he has no reason to attack anyone without provocation. He absolutely knows that the second he starts a real war, the US, South Korea, Japan, China and Russia will all collectively bring to bear the full force of their satellite surveillance and advanced long range precision weapons and highly trained special forces teams on the single goal of killing Kim Jong Un as fast as possible.

Starting a war means he is 100% guaranteed death inside a week. ... So why would he do that?

I like the idea that he wastes his time and funds on missiles and nukes that the rest of the world loses interest talking about. NK needs to be a lower level of news, downgrade it, talk less about it. He will never agree to no nukes and missiles,so fine. Play in your corner. Its best not to give him prime time

Says who? Just because you not interested does not mean others aren't either. More news on this subject is probably a good thing, I would much rather know what they doing, than know nothing at all.

Your comprehension is poor. Perhaps if you quoted all my post AND read it you would see my tactic.

Says who??? Me. Or are opinions only for you to put forward?

Peaceful means to resolve this issue should still be pursued, the alternative is just too horrible and too costly in human lives.

NK is firing missiles. The time for diplomacy is now over IMO.

NK is testing missiles. A commercial airliner flies at 10km high if you are lucky. The latest missile flight test was 700KM high. That's space. Higher than the space shuttle usually.

Sticking your head in the sand and pretending NK does not have this flight technology and additionally going on about never ever joining the nuclear club is just head in the sand again.

The time for diplomacy is most definitely now.

He isnt a rational man. What would happen if it was the US he fired his missiles over instead of Japan?

Its time to strike him imo...because its clear he is going to fire first.

Remember he isnt like us..his thinking is quite different. He wants war.

If the west does nothing and lets NK complete its program, then the slightest provocation..or if the west doesnt take the sanctions off...he will push the buttons..

Agreed. The last thing we want is an irrational man like him, holding the countries around him at ransom. He has already shown that he is not shy with his threats. Those threats up until now we have mostly laughed off. It will be a totally different game if we allow him to get to the point where he holds the power. We don't want him in such a position.

And what would you propose "we" do? (I look forward to see what your involvement would be given your use of "we")and what do you propose "we" do to deal with the aftermath?

Anyone who thinks there is an acceptable military solution to North Korea knows nothing about the military, North Korea, or history. People who think like this have seen too many video games.

I really want to agree, but how are talks possible? The idiot is nuclear armed. Now, we all know what Trump is like and we have a Trump bashing thread here to vent, but Trump is diluted lemon water compared to KJU. Do I want war and what the will bring to the impoverished North Korea people? Who has it happens dont live in palaces, ride on super yachts, or revel on a private jet like he does. Or the Japanese, or South Koreans? Let alone the others that will be affected by radiation fallout.

If KJU was Trump, we can talk and tweet, Trump is a [insert expletive here] but he isn't stupid. KJU is. Irrational. Yes, he is educated and that is more of a problem.

Its about sensibility and bargaining power, and thats very very unbalanced.

What should be done? How about tougher sanctions then?

North Korea produces only 150 barrels a day of fuel, they consume 150 000 barrels per day. How about shutting off their fuel supply as a start?

If the US attacks North Korea the toll just in NK will be huge. Those deaths will be people who can do sod all to alter the position of the rulers or depose those rulers. That is a huge complication.  Then there is the potential of massive death toll in South Korea, Japan possibly China and Russia.

Any strike would have to take out ALL the missile and artillery capability in the first hour(s) if not Seoul and the surrounding area is in artillery range and multiple launch missile system range.  General Mattis is against a strike as he will be very aware of the complexity and risks involved and the chances of it going very wrong very fast.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

That is what the US did to Japan and that did not end well

We can shut off full supply, the idea being to starve him. The argument is he will erupt. Or Russia and China will supply him.

As per my suggestion earlier which is JUST a suggestion, my opinion, starve him of his main need, publicity. Make it second page news. Let him run his tests and missiles, the US, Japan, and SK can just be silent and bear it. The basis is he wont fire first, the US wont, so no dramas. he can waste his money, and get a lower result. The UN can state an official policy of unhappiness and leave it at that. Then NK will be the only issue, no one else. The US, SK and Japan will be good, keep quiet, keep ready, no exercises. Just let one party be the dick, see what happens. He will crack.
