He is massively increasing the already massive defense budget. Because of dangerous times

‘We Are the Dominant Predator,’ Says GOP Lawmaker as Trump Weighs Military Takeover of Greenland: Common Dreams

A Republican congressman on Wednesday made the case for seizing Greenland while describing the US as “the dominant predator” in the Western hemisphere.

During an interview with Fox Business, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) claimed that taking control of Greenland from Denmark was a vital strategic US interest, saying it should be seized regardless of the opinions of its residents.

“It’s important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are, quite frankly, a protectorate of the United States,” said Ogles, who is the lead sponsor of legislation backing Trump’s Greenland takeover bid. “You know, they’ve been in... a relationship with Denmark, that needs to end... When you look at the Monroe Doctrine, you look at the Western hemisphere, we are the dominant predator, quite frankly, force in the Western hemisphere.”

I thought this was the guy I watched last two nights but I dont think its Ogles. Some idiot that said we own the Western Hemisphere.

Now, I googled Western Hemisphere two days ago, varying results. One included NZ, one included the Chathams

This was it, Stephen Miller

GOP vs GOP.

I have no issues with GOP. The key issue is you have GOOD people. If they are GOP, Democrats or Idependents, it makes no difference. Applies to all countries parties. But Far Quits are another issue

kingdragonfly: Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.)

He was the Republican clown who tried to put a bill forward with the idea that the orange buffoon should be entitled to a third term, as his two terms were "not consecutive" - fortunately his bill went absolutely nowhere. But yes, Miller is far worse.

There's an odd quote from the Republican that needs explaining:

"Stephen Miller doesn’t represent the US government, he represents the Article II branch"

Without the long explanation, "Article II branch" means Trump. It avoids saying “Trump” or “the White House” directly.

In plain English: "Stephen Miller is not speaking for the whole country or its long-standing foreign policy. He’s speaking for the President and the President’s inner circle.”

Haven't seen this mentioned earlier, but here's yet another example of Trump's ICE thugs overstepping their boundaries and just shooting anyone they like, to hell with following policy or procedure:

https://edition.cnn.com/us/live-news/minneapolis-ice-shooting-01-08-26

This happened in Minneapolis (not far from where George Floyd was killed) earlier this week.

Absolutely appalling - what galls me is the thug who pulled the trigger then jumped into a waiting car and just fled the scene.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't he have stayed and tried to render assistance? That's what the Police (which the a'holes aren't) would do!

Of course, Trump's administration are painting the deceased woman as being "a threat" when she was just trying to block the ICE thugs from - no doubt wrongly - trying to arrest someone 😠

(I've watched the actual video and it makes for uneasy viewing) 😢

I watched coverage of the Minneapolis shooting this morning. Governor gave a long speech, a great speech, a decent man saying decent things, backed up by the Safety Commissioner. Flicked then to Fox News, who are very right leaning. And loud and boisterous. Thats all good. But the media people there were so disgusting, calling the Governor blubbering and embarrassing. My God. We all know what its like there these days but the division is exponential. Every week it gets worse, nationally and Internationally.

Feds have said there will be no investigation

Speaking of Fox, this is based on their reporting:

And of course there won't be an investigation (CNN reports Minnesota officials have actually been blocked from doing anything of the sort) - Trump and his thugs would fall over themselves to prevent any accountability 😠

Sorry if I'm going on about this but I have family in Minneapolis so this is hitting a little close to home for me 🙁

J D Vance parody:

"The U.S. Declaration of Independence said we Americans have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. How long your life is depends on if you cross ICE."

The Executive Summary

The NY Times - Live: Highlights From The Times’s Interview With President Trump

(today)

He said that he did not feel constrained by any international laws, norms, checks or balances.

Asked by my colleagues if there were any limits on his ability to use American military might, he said: “Yeah, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me.

I don’t need international law,” he added. “I’m not looking to hurt people.”

She placed her SUV as a blockage or protest, could be arrested for that

She took off, could be arrested for that

She didnt try to run the ICE guy over

So shoot the tyres and arrest her and charge her for reckless driving. Or get her address from the plates and arrest her for reckless driving

Not hard

The growing division is becoming very very stark. US Government employees seem to be following Trumps direction and attitude. Them and us. But the Them are US citizens and residents. Us are employed dictators

Blocking/protesting could be interpreted as her 1st ammendment rights. The others, likely a fine.

These guys are thugs. They are fascists executing fascist policies.
