@tdgeek I edit your post. "Chins" is an ethnic group, unrelated to China. I assume it was a typo

Apologies, yes it was a typo, thanks for that

37-year-old mothers don't typically try to kill federal officers.

No,

But there is a fairly long list of times when US police/enforcement officers have used deadly force in situations that many believe they should not have..

Some end up causing huge social uprising (BLM etc) but most of the other thousands of other events annually get rapidly glossed over...

What disgusts me the most is how Kristi Noem has just "decided" the woman in Minneapolis must have been a terrorist...probably because the orange buffoon "said so", facts be damned 😠

https://www.thebulwark.com/i/184071142/quick-hits

NOEM WEIGHS IN, AGAIN: As news of the shooting death of Renee Good began to break online Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was hundreds of miles away, staging a prescheduled press event at the U.S.–Mexico border. This perhaps explained why, when she was asked by a reporter to comment on the breaking news, Noem’s original story was so ludicrously unmoored from reality: ICE officers, she said, had been “stuck in the snow” and “were attempting to push out their vehicle” when a woman “attacked them” and “attempted to run them over and rammed them with her vehicle.”

What defies explanation, however, is why Noem is insisting on sticking to that obviously insane story now. “Everything that I’ve said has been proven to be factual and the truth,” the secretary deadpanned in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper yesterday. “It absolutely is what happened.”

In the interview, Tapper pressed Noem further on various of her claims, including that Good had engaged in “domestic terrorism.” How, Tapper asked, does Noem define domestic terrorism? “She weaponized her vehicle to conduct an act of violence against a law enforcement officer and the public,” Noem said.

It’s become pretty obvious that Donald Trump didn’t watch any of the videos of the confrontation in Minneapolis before commenting on it. Maybe that’s administration policy.

CNN here still falling into the trap of supposing that if Donald Trump had seen the video he wouldn't choose the message that makes him look like a saviour and those that oppose him the enemies of America.

Trump is so extreme that CNN calling everything out to its fullest extent would be declaring war with someone that now has infinite legal resources, to go with their malice.

Every news organization has to deal with their financial incapacity to survive getting to court.
Especially when X, Meta, Google etc is eating their breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Trump just says stuff to get what he wants.
Immunity and impunity just amplify this natural trait.
Analysis beyond that is fairly pointless as he is not serious in that way.

Maduro also made all sorts of promises to his people.
Fully knowing what was left that he did not steal, his cronies in his party and military were taking for their loyalty and leaving nothing.

Like Elon Musk making all those protestations that child safety is an 'absolute' priority, while firing the team that is doing the work. Now?

For Trump.
A video of the execution makes no difference, just highlights what he has to distract from.
It does not suit what he wants, so alternative 'non facts' rule, no matter what he knows.

A relatively polite normal American with soft jibes who would expect its their right to go unmolested.
Has to be demonized.

If this was normal there would be no Sovereign Citizens left in short order.
YouTube devoid of long chase videos.

J.D.Vance joins the 'just make things up' as he has to tie himself to Trump until the day.
Not that his key sponsors Thiel ( Dictators just get it done, for him ), and Elon, Techbros of similar ilk would have him be any different.

CNN is currently a target of a hostile takeover bid. CNN is also a target of a non-hostile bid. One of those will succeed. The result in the non-hostile case may not be optimum but it will live.

I'd pay good money to get inside Judge Merchan's head these days to see what he makes of the world after he unleashed Trump 2.0 onto it. Happy he delayed and delayed and delayed the trial? Happy he didn't give any meaningful enforcement of consequences for repeated actions in contempt? Happy he delayed the verdict so that a convicted felon wasn't on the ballot? Happy he made the sentence unconditional discharge so that the President didn't have to president from a jail cell?

Of all the people who had the power to prevent this s***storm just by doing his or her job in exactly the same manner as they would have for any other person, he's most directly responsible.

Good work, Judge Merchan.

I'm quite relaxed about it. In a fake world, technology that creates and secures trust will survive – one way or another. It has never been a good business model in the long term. MAGA and the Thousand-Year Reich fall into the same category... historically speaking, they only last as long as people can be oppressed or controlled, or until misguided minds recover and take over again. Unfortunately, stupidity and cowardice prolongs this process. It is not the heroes on the battlefield who are important, but the silent heroes who do good.

US President Donald Trump was caught on video at a Michigan auto plant on Tuesday seemingly flipping off a factory employee and swearing at them after they questioned his response to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, Reuters reported.

Kinda grainy images but if true...wow that's so presidential 🙄 he's obviously quite triggered there, but imagine the uproar if Bush had done that to protesters against him?

Also...taking hypocrisy to a whole new level:

Days ago, literally, Trump said if too many deaths occur in the Iran uprising, he will act. It was about 40 then. Now its 2400+

I get that, words are great, Im so awesome, but time and deaths walk on. No doubt he hoped his words would work, but like everything else, its too hard, so another fail

The Peace President...

Yep.  Ignore Republicans or Democrats, if ANY other POTUS did that....  But Trump is a very very low bar, so no one is surprised. Lets do something easier than Venezuela, Iran, Ukraine etc and etc, lets send more ICE to Minneapolis-St Paul

I get the sentiment. In practice I can't think of any American intervention that has worked out well for the targeted country. The usuall situation is many tens of thousands of deaths and continued violent disruption to everyday life lasting years. Imo the people of Iran don't need anyone else to sort this out.

I agree fully. My issue is Trump meddles with his words, causing hope for the protesters, so they keep protesting, and like many i=of his actions, will cause more deaths.

Iran is an extremely complex situation

"I can't think of any American intervention that has worked out well for the targeted country." 100%. The list goes on and on

He may secretly accept that he cannot manage anything, so he may dig deep on Greenland. 55,000 citizens that are armed with honesty and fishing nets. If he does push on, NATO need to step up. Who knows, it may fold NATO and instantly create another Treaty Organisation, excluding the US. Just another step as the globe eases away from the US
