Incredible this person consumed so much of the world over the last ten years.

Trump may well end up having a worse affect on the world than Covid did.

Now that would be an achievement to be proud of. Wouldn't it? 🙄 I mean how could a Nobel Peace prize rank with that?

Well, he's definitely up for Time Person of the Year 2026 at least.

European (not NATO) troops are now starting to move to Greenland in an initial symbolic defense deployment. Not sure who watched the press conference from the Foreign Ministers of Denmark and Greenland last night but the Greenland FM said they did not change the US' mind on acquiring Greenland nor rule out force.

If Trump really pushes it this could be the end of the world order that has kept the world mostly stable since WWII. The collapse of NATO, a war between the US and Europe, and more importantly everyone calling in their US debts as an economic weapon will collapse the dollar and cause global financial chaos. It won't matter whether the US pays or refuses - either way, the dollar is done for.

It is not a defence deployment. It is a reconnaissance mission at Denmark's invitation in a civilian Danish aircraft (at least for the German part). They are not carrying any significant combat power with them. The task is to gain fundamental insights into the local conditions for deployment and training opportunities.

It's a "This is ours, just saying" deployment...

What would New Zealand do if Trump wanted Niue because their policy makers think it is a valuable area to deploy defence for US security?

It is a ‘we take care of Greenland together’ mission, surrounded by „heavy“ Russian and Chinese naval forces. Since it is not a NATO mission, they do not have to report to Trump. The Sirius dog teams are only responsible for changing the batteries in the weather stations (just kidding). 😁

They are formally there to justify Denmark's territorial claim in accordance with a ruling by the International Court of Justice. Until now, 14 elite soldiers, each serving only two years, and 80 sled dogs have been sufficient for this purpose. They are actually more like ‘Greenland National Park’ rangers.

The only one who poses a real threat to Greenland is Trump. If he is afraid of Russia and China, he should defend his MAGA homeland on his own land from now on. We should send him with the dog team; he wouldn't last a day out there, that loudmouth.

DISCLAIMER

The following claim is a podcast theory only, and does not come from a mainstream source. It MAY be true.

I am a retired doctor - 6 months older than Trump - and suffered a stroke 20 years ago, exactly as described in this article. (I made a full recovery over the next year.)

The Daily Beast - Doctor Claims Trump, 79, Suffered Serious Medical Issue

15 Jan 2026

Introduction only - read the article !

Donald Trump suffered a stroke several months ago and has kept it from the public, a prominent medical expert has suggested.

Professor Bruce Davidson of Washington State University’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine made the bombshell claim about the 79-year-old president’s health while laying out “lines of evidence supportive”  ...

I think his stroke was on the left side of the brain, which controls the right side of the body,” Davidson told biographer Sidney Blumenthal and Princeton historian Sean Wilentz on their podcast, The Court of History.

I think the stroke was six months ago or more, earlier in 2025,” he continued. ...

If he wants to adorn himself with a now morally worthless medal? Honour is not transferable – someone like him just doesn't get it. 😁

Incidentally, I also have a German Federal Cross of Merit First Class lying around in a drawer – only it wasn't awarded to me, but is a memento of someone who has passed away. Should I ask Trump if he'll accept it for Greenland? 😁 After all, he has absolutely no chance of getting hold of it by normal means. Joe, on the other hand, got one from us too - voluntarily. 🤣

I watched that. The Denmark people were stellar. Its not noteworthy that Denmark, Greenland or Trump didnt move their position. What I found noteworthy was security was the only thing mentioned by Trump. To Denmark thats easy. You used to have 17 bases and 10,000 people in Greenland, now you have 1 base and 200 people. Happy if you want to increase that, as its already agreed by default, and they offered that. They also stated that there hasnt been any Chinese or Russian ships/subs for a couple of decades. Plus if China/Russia did attempt a takeover, NATO, including the US is there, so I doubt they would even look at that

To me, Trump, yet again, has waffled a lot of fancy strongman rhetoric, that's largely incorrect, and now he's backed himself into a corner as his "offer (threat)" is public, so not so easy to walk back

He is solely interested in the mineral resources – everything else is just a smokescreen.

Under this lot? Find a way to agree. Under Labour? Hard to say. Probably wring their hands and tut.

Neither would seriously contemplate sending even the symbolic token force we could muster to actively resist.

I don't know much about her but this at least shows a lot of bravery and self-sacrifice. She's willing to debase herself for what the entire world knows is a farce in order to have the chance to save her country from Trump. She's also got to include in that calculation that even if he accepts it, he still might turn on her tomorrow.

Like Zelenskyy, she's in a no-win situation and is willing to put her personal pride behind her to do what she believes is best for her people.
