Epstein, it was aliens.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/19/us/politics/trump-ufos-aliens-files.html

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g57gqqln1o

Trump and cabinet knowing podcasters just eat up alien stories.

No one will be talking about all the contacts Trumps appointees, cabinet and Trump himself had with Epstein

Everyone can stop talking about Epstein inaction. Aliens !

I don't know if that will necessarily work - remember late last year before the Epstein files were released? He said he was going to release "the Amelia Earhart files", presumably as a distraction. For all the good it did him though (which was next to one - I remember one meme I saw at the time saying "unless Epstein is mentioned in the files, no one gives a s--t") he ended up releasing the Epstein files anyway.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgkn84e1nvxo

This is yet another distraction, and I think the Epstein fallout is going to get worse (for him) before it gets any better, if at all.

Reuters - US Supreme Court rules against Trump's tariffs

breaking

  • US Supreme Court rules (6-3) against President Donald Trump's tariffs
  • Trump called the ruling a 'disgrace'
  • More than $175 billion at risk of being refunded, economists estimate
  • The president hit nearly every foreign trading partner with tariffs

  • Read the court's 170-page ruling here

Partisan divide sharpens after Supreme Court rules

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries called the decision "a big victory for the American people. And another crushing defeat for the wannabe King."

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson said Trump's tariffs "brought in billions of dollars and created immense leverage for America’s trade strategy."

Cue the tomato sauce being thrown at the walls of the White House 😁

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-attacks-supreme-court-justices-after-he-is-handed-a-major-tariff-loss/ar-AA1WL1aB?cvid=a931978f2a534ef0d8387e4c84497aab&ei=9

The president said at a press conference hours after the court’s ruling that he’s “ashamed” for the justices who voted against his tariffs, singling out the liberal justices who joined three conservatives in blocking the tariffs as a “disgrace to our nation.”

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

He can still use tariffs under other Statutes, just takes longer. He will no doubt add an anger penalty

He talks about being ripped off by other countries. Other countries dont force Americans to buy their goods, Americans CHOOSE the goods

He's not mucking around:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/trump-orders-temporary-10-global-tariff-to-replace-duties-struck-down-by-us-supreme-court/ar-AA1WLcZ3?cvid=a931978f2a534ef0d8387e4c84497aab&cvpid=6343ab17cf544efc9314a41e9be8df07&ei=41

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he would impose a 10% global tariff for 150 days to replace some of his emergency duties that were struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Trump said that his order would be made under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 and the duties would be over and above tariffs that are currently in place.

The statute allows the president to impose duties of up to 15% for up to 150 days on any and all countries related to "large and serious" balance of payments issues. It does not require investigations or impose other procedural limits.

While I'm here, this week's cartoons (none about the tariffs being struck down - yet):

ICE (quite rightly) booted out of Minneapolis:

Republicans fleeing Congress as the orange buffoon becomes less and less popular, threatening their own jobs in the midterms:

AlterNet - Critics trash 'psychopath' Trump’s threat to 'destroy the country'

20 Feb 2026

President Donald Trump raged at the Supreme Court on Friday for snatching away his ability to wield unilateral tariffs to punish nations that make him angry.

The courts, complete with its conservative majority - many appointed by Trump - ruled against his claimed authority to impose tariffs, sending Trump on a tear of vowing to circumvent the court with tariff “alternatives.”

Trump called the decision a "ridiculous opinion,” and accused conservative members of the court who sided against him of a kind of betrayal, and said he was “ashamed” of them.

The court said that I'm not allowed to charge even $1! Can't charge one dollar to any country under IEEPA!,” Trump fumed in a public address after the court ruled 6-to-3 against him.

But Trump then followed his tantrum up with an unsettling threat:

But I am allowed to cut off any and all trade or business with that same country; in other words, I can destroy the trade, I can destroy the country!” Trump blared. “I'm even allowed to impose a foreign country-destroying embargo, I can embargo! I can do anything I want, but I can't charge $1!

A very dangerous, senile psychopath ...  πŸ˜Ÿ

The Washington Post - Trump banner on Justice Dept. building draws authoritarian comparisons

today

A new banner hanging along the facade of the Justice Department’s headquarters in Washington is sparking criticism from Democrats and a former FBI director, who suggest that it exemplifies President Donald Trump’s encroachment on the agency, which has long prided itself on being independent from the White House. ...

“MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN,” reads the banner, which is emblazoned with the Justice Department’s seal.

The irony of a twice-impeached, convicted felon putting his own picture on the wall of the Department of Justice”  Sen. Ben Ray Luján (New Mexico)

Extra 10% duty for Americans to pay for spendy Trumps monuments.
Why spend on infrastructure when world's most expensive ballroom and triumph arches need building.

As USA becomes North Korea, and Americans voted for it, Evangelicals praise the lord for it.

The Dictators stamp of supersized posters of 'Dear Leader', just confirmation.
I am immune, I decide the law. I say I am exonerated; I am exonerated.

Supreme Court in USA still failed to catch the moment, it should have been a unanimous decision.
Seems some want to have a King, a Dictator, finally a 1000 year Reich.

Unanimous decision, that would have shaken things, as typical for America, a lost opportunity like voting day.
Like if GOP had shown Trump, Vance, that 2/3 supermajority is there if they push it.
Now he has targets, and has mentioned the Judges families

Even midterms if vote is not stolen may still be ineffective, with supermajority out of reach.

Its not like Americans did not have a warning from his first go-around.
This time he even said it straight and plain 'you may never need to vote again'.

I fully agree with that. As in make it safe again. Not the mural.

Indeepndent, lol. He always adds "loyal" independents but 3 of them went by the law, which Trump is angry about, says it all

Trump's US Ambassador to Israel is obviously no restraint whatsoever on the actions and ambitions of the current government of Israel. Huckabee should be removed immediately:

"Carlson told Huckabee that the biblical verse had promised the land to the descendants of Abraham, including the area between the Euphrates River in Iraq and the Nile River in Egypt. Such a swath would encompass modern-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and parts of Saudi Arabia. β€œIt would be fine if they took it all,” said Huckabee, who was appointed by President Donald Trump last year."
