Reuters - From 'buy America' to 'bye America', Wall Street exodus gathers pace

Summary

  •     US investors shift to emerging markets, Europe, and Japan
  •     Weaker dollar boosts attractiveness of foreign markets for US investors
  •     AI stock rally slows, prompting shift to industrial and defensive stocks

LONDON, Feb 20 (Reuters) - U.S. investors are pulling money out of their own stock market at the fastest pace in at least 16 years as Big Tech returns fade and better-performing overseas markets look more attractive.

In the last six months, U.S.-domiciled investors have pulled some $75 billion from U.S. equity products, with $52 billion flowing out since the start of 2026 alone, the most in the first eight weeks of the year since at least 2010 ...

Another triumph for MAGA tariffs  🙄

Maybe Trump should order the US hospital boat from Greenland to depart for coastal city Brownsville, Texas, Gulf Coast region, near Mexican border?

It's ranked among the most needy cities in the U.S. overall, including access to health care and insurance coverage.

Nearly 29% of people in the broader area lack any insurance coverage, one of the highest rates in the country.

The coastal city Brownsville is generally not a traditional Republican stronghold, and historically dominated by Democratic voting, especially among Hispanic voters.

In other words, Trump will never care if these Americans are sick and "not being taken care of."

Greenland says 'no thanks' to Trump US hospital boat: BBC

Trump wrote on Truth Social that he was going to send a boat filled with medical supplies, alleging "many people" on the island are sick and "not being taken care of".

Jens-Frederik Nielsen responded "it's going to be a no thanks from us," and said that Greenland provides free healthcare for all citizens, unlike the US.

Trump has long coveted the vast arctic island - but conceded in January that he would not take it by force, after previously refusing to rule out doing so.

He later announced a "framework for a future deal" around the US and Greenland, after Denmark and Nato allies made it clear that they would not give in to his calls to relinquish sovereignty.

In his post on social media, Trump said that he and his Greenland envoy Jeff Landry were "going to send a great hospital boat to Greenland to take care of the many people who are sick, and not being taken care of there. It's on the way!!!"

The post included what appeared to be an illustrated or AI image of the USNS Mercy, one of two hospital ships operated by the US navy. It is not clear if Trump was referencing either of those ships, or what had prompted his decision.

Responding to the post, Nielsen said that Trump's idea "is noted. But we have a public healthcare system where treatment is free for citizens."

"It's not like that in the United States, where it costs money to go to the doctor," he wrote on Facebook.

Trump has said this a number of times in various ways.

Moving on from his pre election promise, 'You need never vote again'.
We don't need an election

The more his Cabinet, appointees, GOP accept these comments, the more he can assume everyone accepts this.

It seems to be a Neo Right thing, Trump, Elon, etc, to talk about their plans as 'jokes', 'memes', 'being edgelords'.
Probably a few do that here.
Message and prepair their followers, but for everyone else you can't take a joke.
Its easier than talking in code, you just say it straight out, even simple minded can manage.

Parody dies when parody is the real plan.

Then it just becomes, I am doing what you voted me to do, I said this out loud before your 'last' election.
Putin did what his KGB masters could not, destroy America, and the idea of America as a shining light, or could be.

Founders escaping a Mad King, bring about generations later a Mad King. Fates are nothing if poetic.

'Beware of Florida men bearing gifts'

Mining industry is ignoring that a Trump deal will be rewritten. Trump is not a gift horse.
A Trump deal is no deal, and the smiling assassins in his cabinet likewise.
Bessent, Lutnick and Cabinet who are all singing in unison that the world is ripping them off, and must pay.

Canada, that cornucopia of minerals and energy 'next door' tightly tied into USA industry.
What has Trump and friends done to them?

American companies suddenly bearing us gifts when its America first and only, quarterly balance sheet above all else?

Cos its no gift, there will be fishhooks to assure dependance and money flows out of New Zealand.
We will end up subsidizing and paying for infrastructure, then extorted, tossed aside left with the tailings and destruction.

Just waiting for the changes to fast track, reduced environmental, safety, deregulation on ownership and outflows.
Ownership structures that siphon profits out of NZ, minimizing to eliminating taxes,
while leaving an empty shell that can't manage tailings and clean up.

Held to ransom over tariffs for trade imbalance, to leverage more economic control and domination.
Farmers and industry could end up paying more so American mining companies make more.

Right now the world is looking to replace unreliable USA as a trade partner.
A once in a generation opportunity with everyone else.
Thinking goes to forming trade blocks without USA.
We should be concentrating our trade missions on that.

The notorious judge Cannon strikes again ...

Special counsel Jack Smith and U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon.

The Washington Post - Judge Cannon orders secrecy for report on Trump classified-documents case

23 Feb 2026

A federal judge in Florida blocked public release of special counsel Jack Smith’s extensive report on the classified-documents case against President Donald Trump - a resounding victory for Trump’s efforts to block public viewing of what probably would be damaging details about his retention of classified materials after he left the White House in 2021.

Cannon ruled that the report’s publication could violate grand jury secrecy rules.

Her decision can, and probably will, be appealed. ...

Delay, delay, delay ...

Minaj last month posed a photo of a trump Gold Visa which she claimed gave her a fast path to citizenship and other benefits. In reality it was a custom souvenir created just for Minaj with no validity. Bible signings. Whatever next..
