A few Saturday morning cartoons:

This last one refers to the SAVE Act; an, uh, "initiative" by the orange buffoon, which would make voting harder for a sizeable portion of the US population - currently it's sitting with the Senate for consideration:

Trump's military buildup in striking distance of Iran is huge. Hundreds of aircraft. A large number of naval assets. Embassies in Iran and Israel are withdrawing staff in anticipation of some kind of action.

Human rights issues in Iran are definitely not Trump's priority. Nuclear issues are not a serious concern either. Trump's key demands appear to be related to conventional missiles able to reach Israel. Iran will believe itself to be defenseless without that capability. I can't see Iran giving those up.

In Venezuela a protracted 'negotiation' period occurred in parallel with a military buildup. Likewise there has been a protracted 'negotiation' period related to Iran. The military buildup related to Iran is far larger and capable of far more destruction.

Yeah, they (quite rightly) believe that a massive wave of those concentrated on, say, Tel Aviv, are their only real way of ensuring that Israel or anyone else can't just roll right over them. They won't want to give that up.

Not to mention the fact that they had a good deal with the US and everyone else already, and they were sticking to it, and Trump decided to screw them over anyway. What would make them think he won't do it again as soon as his lack of object permanence kicks in?

It would be nice reprieve for Ukraine if Iran stops sending ballistic missiles, and parts thereof.
CKD kits and plans for Shaheeds, trainers/operators for same, newer drone tech to Russia.
Critical components in GPS, and technology from west and China routed through Iran's smuggling networks through UAE etc.

Iran has been playing a big part in misery in Ukraine, as it did in Syria, and elsewhere.
Peace would have had a better chance without the Ayatollahs and their military arm IRGC.

Not that Trump is a solution to any problem until he moves on.

Trump who is the oracle of truth and fact said that Iran's program was erased.

So according to himself there is no nuclear threat.
Contradiction of this according to Trump is 'Fake News', makes people traitors.

Life as MAGA must be very complicated if you have any kind of memory.

Anthropic AI is bad, because Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, has publicly refused to remove safety restrictions. Anthropic emphasizes guardrails and restrictions on how its AI should be deployed; the government wants no limitations.

Elon's Musk Grok AI not only OK, but given a government contract, and used by the Department of Defense War.

[satire] So expect spicy quips, taunts and zingers bluetooth speaker option in the next hellfire missiles: "Say hi to your maker”, "Dinner’s served.”, “Last stop: Oblivion.”, “Going out with a bang!”

You'll remember Trump has threatening Senators with sedition for a video saying soldiers can refuse illegal orders.

Trump orders government to stop using Anthropic in battle over AI use

US President Donald Trump said Friday he would direct every federal agency to immediately stop using technology from AI developer Anthropic.

"We don't need it, we don't want it, and will not do business with them again!" Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
...
The company had grown concerned in recent months about the government potentially using its AI tools, like Claude, in what it described as "mass surveillance" and "fully autonomous weapons".

Hegseth and the Pentagon have insisted that Anthropic agree to "any lawful use" of its tools and technology.

Both Trump and Hegseth announced their decisions against Anthropic on social media, with the defence secretary saying on X that Anthropic would be "immediately" designated a supply chain risk, prohibiting any business working with the military from "any commercial activity with Anthropic".
...
"No amount of intimidation or punishment from the Department of War will change our position on mass domestic surveillance or fully autonomous weapons", the company added.

The Department of War is a secondary name Trump has given to the defence department.

Trump just made a hell of a speech. Sounds like an all-out declaration of war on Iran. He is also encouraging and calling for regime change.

Ironic in this case especially since this comes from Mr "No New Wars" 🙄

Not dissimilar to Bush's encouragement for an uprising against Saddam Hussain's government of Iraq. In reality Bush did nothing to support those, probably did not intend to support them in the first place, and those uprisings failed. Other than that, Trump's speech in large part asks Americans to imagine that Iran will have missiles that can reach America.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2026/2/28/live-israel-launches-attacks-on-iran-multiple-explosions-heard-in-tehran

Over 200 dead in Iran according to Al Jazeera.

I wonder if the orange buffoon is doing this sort of thing now while he still can? Normally I understand approval for this sort of military action needs to go through Congress, but Trump appears to be basically just thumbing his nose at them (and the process) and doing whatever the hell he wants.

Then again, if either the House or Senate (or both) were controlled by Democrats, he knows he'll be held accountable, so he's probably trying to push through as much of his (crappy) agenda as he can before November, as it's not looking optimistic for him - or Republicans - to still be fully running the show after then.

FLASHBACK to a 2019 tweet from The Don:

"The United States has spent EIGHT TRILLION DOLLARS fighting and policing in the Middle East. Thousands of our Great Soldiers have died (or) been badly wounded.

Millions of people have died on the other side. GOING INTO THE MIDDLE EAST IS THE WORST DECISION EVER MADE ..."
