Trump invokes Pearl Harbor in front of Japanese prime minister to defend Iran attack secrecy: CNBC
...
In an apparent awkward moment at the Oval Office on Thursday stateside, U.S. President Donald Trump referenced Pearl Harbor in his first meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi after her landslide electoral victory.

When asked by a Japanese reporter on why the U.S. did not inform allies such as Japan before carrying out the attacks against Iran on Feb. 28, the U.S. president said it was to maintain the element of surprise.

“Who knows better about that. Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor? You believe in surprise much more so than I.”

Federal law says living presidents can’t appear on currency, but commission approves design for US’s 250th birthday

A federal arts commission on Thursday approved the final design for a 24-karat gold commemorative coin bearing Donald Trump’s image to help celebrate the US’s 250th birthday on 4 July.

The vote by the US Commission of Fine Arts, whose members are supporters of the Republican president and were appointed by him earlier this year, was without objection.

What a miserable-looking a-hole. I can see that appealing to diehard MAGA fans, but everyone else? Nope.

It's depressing that someone like him is the president, 250 years later 🙄 shows how far backwards the US has truly gone since independence.

In the hackers' community, it's been widely known you can hack cross walk audio for some months. I guess Colorado missed the memo on the importance on patching crosswalks.

Still funny.

One comedian quipped at least he didn't do the Japanese eyes trick, and accent, so that's better than what you expect from him.

First Trump didn't warn his allies of the attack, then when things go badly, asked Japanese to commit Japanese sailors to risk their lives.

Japan's leadership has already signaled that an invasion of Taiwan from China could trigger Japan’s right to collective self‑defense. With the US fleet occupied elsewhere if Japan also put some of their limited resource near Iran, it really would be the best time to attack Taiwan.

The Japanese Prime Minister was non-committed to helping Trump. I'd bet she pretty firm on not helping America's/Israel's war on Iran.

President Donald Trump on Friday said the fight to stop a nuclear-powered Iran is “militarily won,” while lashing out at NATO allies for not helping the United States and calling them “cowards” for not helping open the Strait of Hormuz.

...

“So easy for them to do, with so little risk. COWARDS, and we will REMEMBER!” Trump added.

I'm sure they'll fall over themselves to help you now and in the future, you orange moron 😠

Also (apparently): https://archive.ph/fyNlN

[Far-right MAGA extremist Laura] Loomer told the Financial Times she had assured the president: “I said it’s a great job and people all around the world are cheering you on,” adding that he was “making us proud to be American.”

The second paragraph at least looks like incorrect hyperbole to me.

Obviously Trump's staff wrote the following "Truth". Most likely Trump's too tired from golfing to write himself.

It doesn't match his style, or literacy level.

Which mean Trump will contradict all points within 15 minutes if questioned by a reporter.

You'll notice it has a formal, structured, numbered list of policy objectives. Spookily there are no contradictions or policy inconsistencies within the text. Its style is a long, uninterrupted policy‑memo‑style.

Where's “obliterated,” “totally defeated”, “It’ll be over fast”, “It’ll be done before they know what happened”?

Most tellingly: no slogans? no insults? no self‑praise? ... where have you hidden the body of the real Trump!!!

Note it frames a high‑risk, high‑stakes military task as something simple, routine, and easily handled by other nations.

So at least it's burden shifting, which is very consistent with Trump when he fails.

Trump's "Truth" post

"We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran:

(1) Completely degrading Iranian Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them.

(2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base.

(3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry.

(4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place.

(5) Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others.

The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not! If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated. Importantly, it will be an easy Military Operation for them.

Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

Agreed.

Is staff "support" / takeover in progress?

Progressing dementia / incompetence?

Either way, the White House is in self-destruct mode.  🙄

Hyperbole/exaggeration? Yes, quite possibly. But the way things are going with this pointless war so far (that he started) chances are it may become reality sooner or later. Hopefully I'm wrong 🤞

https://www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-is-getting-drilled-baby-drilled-iran-war-energy-oil-natural-gas-lng-qatar-israel

But the whole alarming affair is a good analogy for the Iran conflict writ large—indeed, for Trump’s whole floundering second term. Trump is spending his time this week fighting tooth and nail just to get back to the previous status quo—an Iran war that mostly spares globally vital energy infrastructure. Zoom back and he’s fighting to get to another, higher-order previous status quo: no war in Iran at all to drive prices up like crazy. Zoom back one more time and it’s the story of his whole second term: He’s fighting just to get back to the levels of support he had this time last year as the midterms loom and his coalition crashes down around him.

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/590294/robert-mueller-special-counsel-who-probed-but-did-not-charge-trump-dies-at-81

Robert Mueller, who investigated Russian interference during the 2016 election has died at the age of 81. Apparently he was diagnosed recently with Parkinson's disease.

Unsurprisingly, the orange buffoon was ecstatic about this:

Trump on Saturday celebrated Mueller's passing. "Good, I'm glad he's dead," Trump wrote on the Truth Social site. "He can no longer hurt innocent people!"

What a nasty, childish, petty response. He could have just said nothing, but oh no, he has to have the last word.

Kindly allow me to make a response to Trump:

Y'know Donnie, I think there's probably more people in the whole world that are going to say something quite similar about you when your time finally comes (myself included!) 😠
