You are not a stable genius if you expect to walk past security at the entrance with your open carry shotgun.
In common with Trump, not even concept of a plan.
There will be some serious mental issue.
Oh they found out he worked as a part time teacher and video game developer from Southern California, according to public records.
Oh dear, Queue internet social media meltdown, the evil empire California.
Oh hell he donated $25 to Kamala Harris.

Of course this whole thing will have nothing to do easy availability of guns, and mental instability made worse by mad social media.

A mentalist was the host, replacing the comedian because Trump has no sense of humour. There are plenty of mental issues to go around.
A couple of memes I've seen being bandied around the internet today regarding this (there is also a lot of skepticism out there that this was all staged):

Personally, I don't see how his tacky, gaudy pathetic ballroom could have stopped (yet another) shooting from happening, but hey, what do I know? 🤷♂️
I'm sure Republicans will manage to tie it in with this incident, as they're already falling over themselves to do going off the first pic. That, and this must have been caused by the Democrats 🙄
Will be interesting to see if this actually does anything to his poll numbers - although unlike when Reagan was shot in 1981 (and the public basically rallied around him), opinions on the orange buffoon are (by this point) pretty much baked-in with American voters; for what happened with Reagan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attempted_assassination_of_Ronald_Reagan#Aftermath
The events contributed to Reagan's initial popularity. Though he had enjoyed approval ratings of up to 60% until March, his ratings surged to nearly 70% in the following months.
At the moment, Trump is nowhere near those numbers. I'll be stunned if this gets him anywhere near 40%, never mind 50%.
On the good side...
MAGA has exposed the truth about the USA, and it's not pretty. It's a country with decaying education, health and governance systems. It's a country that now seems incapable of leading or working in a progressive way with other countries, allies or not.
Considering this, smart nations are distancing themselves from this circus and starting to work for the betterment of their people, e.g. the EU and Mercosur/Mercosul agreements and NATO nations investing more in defence capabilities.
Smart Americans will realise that 50% of their population has been indoctrinated into a cult.
When someone tells you who they are, believe it.
Remember that Trump voter who said, "[Trump]’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting". This defines MAGA. They don't want to be better. The cruelty is the point.
Republicans in general are defined by technobros influencing grifters dressed as politicians, scooping all the media so they can control the message and protecting an elite that is up to their necks in terrible stuff.
Q Anon believers thought democrats were running a pedo ring from inside a pizza basement in Washington. The pizza basement didn't exist, and the pedo ring is managed from the halls of political Republican power, tech and finance boardrooms.
And remember, every accusation from Republicans is a confession.

Exactly.
And when Trump goes, I (hope to) see MAGA dying off as well.

The Washington Post - Trump says he sees shootings as a reflection of his impact
today
President Donald Trump said Saturday that he views his repeated brushes with violence as a sign of his historic significance and is determined not to let the dangers affect him. …
“I’ve studied assassinations, and I must tell you, the most impactful people, the people that do the most ... they’re the ones that they go after,” Trump told reporters at the White House soon after a shooting suspect was apprehended.
“And I hate to say I’m honored by that, but I’ve done a lot.”

Apparently - according to the Wall Street Journal - the shooter was a guest at the motel, which probably helped him get as far in as he did:
Why is it that secret agents wear jackets with the words "secret service" emblazoned on them, but ICE have to wear masks?
According to CNN it is the democrats fault for pointing out Trump's disastrous policies.
CNN Host Slammed For Asking Dem About 'Heated Rhetoric' Toward Trump
Raskin:
I’m talking about policies. I don’t personalize it, and I certainly have never called the press ‘the enemy of the people'
NYPost: "Like, the one thing that I immediately noticed walking into the hotel is the sense of arrogance. I walk in with multiple weapons and not a single person there considers the possibility that I could be a threat. The security at the event is all outside, focused on protestors and current arrivals, because apparently no one thought about what happens if someone checks in the day before"
