I’d wager it’ll get to at least 5000 if he goes full-term.

The NY Times - A revealing Trump remark points to Republicans’ midterm challenges

13 May 2026

President Trump has never been a fuzzy, feel-your-pain kind of politician.

That came through in an especially striking way yesterday, when he answered a question about whether he was motivated by the financial situation of Americans to make a deal to end the war with Iran.

Not even a little bit,” he replied. “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing: We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all.”

It was a response that flouted fundamental rules of American politics - that voters are motivated above all by economic concerns, that they want to support politicians who “care about people like me” - and it was a risky one, given Trump’s dire political standing …

OMG he really needs to be tied to a chair with his eyes held open and made to watch the entire 155 episodes of The West Wing.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

This genuine 14 carat carrot gold-painted Trump phone is a grift and farcical cash grab. The marketing around it is as unserious as the product.

Just out in the news, Trump phone may actually not be vaporware.

And the term and condition specifically say "no specific timeframe", so anytime between now and full Middle East peace.

Ironically I do agree that the Trump phone is the best contemporary example of "American values" as stated.

"USA Today" is news for people who considered Vanilla ice cream as too cutting-edge/spicy. It is slightly right leaning, friendly to Republicans, mostly non-confrontational but not as bad as Fox News.

Trump’s gold T1 phone will start shipping this week: USA Today

Trump Mobile phones are being shipped this week, the company exclusively confirmed to USA TODAY in an email May 11.
...
The company faced delays after announcing its intention to create the phones in the United States. Now, the website states the phones are "designed with American values in mind."

Written before the article you quoted, but The Bulwark had a good piece about exactly this yesterday: https://www.thebulwark.com/i/197344912/ive-got-a-bridge-to-cell-you

Nearly a year on, though, the whole thing is starting to look like—stop us if you’ve heard this one—a scam. Customers who wanted to sign up were encouraged to plunk down a $100 “deposit” to preorder the group’s bespoke, made-in-America, Trump-branded $499 smartphone, the T1, which was supposedly right around the corner. In June, the company was promising to ship phones by August. According to International Business Times, more than half a million people ponied up, pouring an estimated $59 million into Trump Mobile’s coffers.

But no phones have arrived, the “made in America” promises have vanished, the launch date keeps sliding back, and this week, Moneywise.com reported on a quiet change made last month to the company’s terms of service:

"A preorder deposit provides only a conditional opportunity if Trump Mobile later elects, in its sole discretion, to offer the Device for sale. A deposit is not a purchase, does not constitute acceptance of an order, does not create a contract for sale, does not transfer ownership or title interest, does not allocate or reserve specific inventory, and does not guarantee that a Device will be produced or made available for purchase."

I couldn't care less; the damage has already been done. And if the successor continues down that path, the USA won't recover from it for a very long time—at least not in any honest way. We will have to be prepared for anything.

Speaking of Trump phones, Powerus is the drone company.

Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. own stakes in Dominari Holdings, which controls American Ventures, which in turn is an investment arm backing drone companies including Powerus.

Dominari controls American Ventures, which has raised around $1 billion across vehicles backing AI, crypto, drones, and related sectors.

Poerureus Greenway Holdings is the golf‑course operator/shell company being used to take Powerus public.

So I expect as much honest good faith above the board dealings with the Department of Defense War contracts with Powerus drones.

Nothing shady here .. now move along before we arrest you for impeding progress.

more dirty deeds …

Daily Kos - Trump won’t rest until DC is just one massive gold pile of cr*p

14 May 2026

In a move that the Washington Post is desperately trying to gentlewash as simply “unusual,” [link] it appears that President Donald Trump has been trying to staple an entirely different contract for construction at the White House, over a mile away, to his efforts to build his Big Dumb Arch.

The administration loves this sort of One Weird Trick garbage, where it comes up with some utterly preposterous idea that Trump thinks absolves him of any obligation to follow the law.

This time around, he wants to use an existing contract for engineering work at the White House complex, which is over a mile away, and s-t-r-e-t-c-h it to somehow also cover work on the arch.

Here’s the dumb, corrupt thinking: Work on the White House complex doesn’t require the competitive bidding process that work on the arch does, what with the proposed site for the arch not being remotely near the White House. …

I'm convinced the Trump phone, Trump watch, Trump trading cards and other similar articles are just an elaborate money laundering scam to allow the supporters to hide their support from public view. That includes people like V V Putin.

To be upfront, I don't like the current politics in the US, and never liked China politics, so I don't have a horse in this race.

Trump expected a more ceremonial welcome to China. He was irritated that Xi did not personally greet him upon arrival

Of course Trump literally has never got his well-padded derrière to meet a foreign head of state or dignitary at a U.S. airport.

See the wonderful German word Schadenfreude

Of course Trump has authoritarian-envy of Xi, and wishes the constitution would get rid of those nasty, nasty checks and balances. Luckily for Trump the Supreme Court has taken a rain check, until a Democrat gets elected.

China finally did it to Trump and it's hilarious!

Really American

The NY Times - Late Night -  The Punchiest Punchlines (Beijing Edition)

14 May 2026

President Trump arrived today in Beijing for his two-day state visit. And, apparently, he’s so jet-lagged that he’s been sleeping at night and staying awake during meetings.” - SETH MEYERS

Blink and you would have missed it.

The Thucydides Trap a rising power (China implied) threatens to displace an established power (USA implied), often leading to war.

This idea comes from the ancient Greek historian Thucydides, who wrote that "it was the rise of Athens and the fear this instilled in Sparta that made war inevitable."

So an implied threat that went over Trump's head completely

Trump: "Did best bud Xi say I was 'more Dromio than Daedalus'? I love Italian food. He also said my 'lucidity trap'. My doctor is always asking me to take these tests, which start easy peasy, but man they get hard. I am literally the most lucid person in the world according to the ...umm ... yeah ... the ..." begins to snore at the conference table

What is the 'Thucydides' Trap' Xi Jinping mentioned to Trump?
