Apparently the orange buffoon got up and stormed out in a huff towards the end at being asked "hard questions". I'm sure next we'll be hearing about what a "mean, nasty woman" she was 🙄



I propose a new dictionary entry for "futility": "You correcting Trump".

Regarding the “I built our military.” comment, a new dictionary entry for "self centered": "Trump correcting you"

She replied saying to "be fair I'm not", so she handled his tantrum quite well.

Looks like an AI 'cartoonist' to me. Visually they are pretty awful to the extent they hurt my brain. I wonder how long it will be until we look back on those and think ah yeah.. 1st generation AI..

It may be an AI cartoon - but the message/theme is still the same, regardless; Obama took all the questions thrown at him (even the really tough ones) while in office.

 

By comparison, Trump gets argumentative and does act like a spolit child if anyone dares to question him or even challenge what he's doing.

Precisely, which setting aside any psychological considerations, will be a result of his expectations while heading up the Trump organisation.

 

He is used to being the boss, instructing his minions and firing those that fail to do as they are tasked or who dare to question him. He is not capable of being held accountable like the rest of us. Recall the theatrics of the board room in the Apprentice TV programme years ago, where if a team member / contestant failed to deliver on the previous episode's task, they were "fired" and left the programme.

 

It's a pity Trump cannot (yet??) be subpoenaed to testify before a Congressional committee and face the really hard questions and be forced under oath to explain the utter shambles that his presidency will hopefully be remembered for. If he thew his toys and stormed out of that setting he would surely be in contempt of Congress.

The problem is that there are now so many people, in so many different levels, executing the grift, that unless there's a Nuremberg-style prosecution, nothing will be learned.

 

The irony is that his followers, and other conspiracy theorists keep shouting about Nuremberg tribunals. but for the people they dislike or blame (remember Dr Fauci, PM Jacinda Ardern), without ever looking inwards.

I agree.

 

May I suggest that assuming the Dems, following the mid-term elections this November, regain control of both houses of Congress, they should implement a Congressional inquiry once the next Congress is sworn in come January 2027, subpoena Trump's senior team, ie: his top advisors, the entire cabinet and the heads of every government department reporting to the cabinet and grill them. If they refuse to partake, then hold them in contempt and put them in jail until they comply. If the constitution allows them to be impeached while they are in federal office, then surely US federal law allows for follow-up accountability after they leave office. Congress is ultimately the only entity that can hold federal officers to account, including the president. If they have to change the law then so be it.

 

The US Constitution needs to be reviewed (this will take quite a while) with changes considered to make it more fit for purpose. As it stands, if a sitting president is impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate, the only punishment per the constitution is removal from office. There is no legal way to imprison a convicted president who has been found guilty of high crimes and misdemeanor etc. The current president is arguably one of the worst in US history for breaking rules and laws while sycophants watch and do nothing.

 

Trump and his senior team need to be held to account for the mess they have jointly created not only domestically in the USA, but around the world too. His childish tariffs and Iran war have very likely cost the rest of the world's economy many trillions of dollars in lost opportunity and waste.

He's due in LA at a FIFA game this Friday afternoon/evening US time, so he'll be in front of cameras etc with live signal going out to the world.

 

I wonder how that crowd will be with him there, hopefully equally disapproving.

I see Trump's policies are now affecting the FIFA World Cup. 

 


Iran's staff are not allowed to travel with the team into the USA. 
Iranian players have to arrive and leave on the same day. 
Their supporters have apparently (according to The Guardian) had their ticket allocations cancelled (although this is yet to be confirmed). 

 

A referee from Somalia was sent home from Miami airport when he arrived with a valid visa and was still refused entry because he's Somali. 

 

Iraq's WC striker was questioned for over 7 hours by staff at O'Hare airport before finally being released to join the rest of the squad. 
Their team's photographer was sent home by the US customs and border patrol lot after he had his phone checked. 

Senegal team players had their baggage inspected on the tarmac in the Texas heat and the Uzbekistan team had their training base inspected thoroughly by the drug sniffing dog squad. 

No mention of any Trump-allied teams having any issues, however.

Agree. Natalya Guseva plays tennis on the LPGA she is Russian. Often but not always they remove the country flag that shows next to each player on the leaderboard

 

She plays and is welcome. Russia and Iran arent the issue its the relevant dictator. Sport is sport, leave it alone
