This part I find the most baffling thing of all:

Trump seems determined to use his time in office to degrade, vulgarise, and deface the prestige of the presidency as much as he possibly can. How someone can come from so much privilege with so little content is incomprehensible. Trump's instincts are those of a low class trailer park resident. He serves his guests hamburgers on the best White House porcelain. He organises fight matches on the White House grounds. I am surprised he has not started drawing beards on the portraits of former presidents. He is not just an imbecile, which would be bad enough. He is malevolent, determined to drag down everything and everyone that is better than him. He wants to look good by making everything else look bad. Tragically, he is succeeding.

This was actually better viewing last night, which was early Saturday morning before dawn in DC.

Workers at the Kennedy Center spent much of the day erecting a scaffolding, to support a tarp, to hide them removing Trump's name from the Kennedy Center, ie: so there would be no pictures of the name being removed.

As far as I can tell, the workers were ultimately removing his name in the wee small hours of the morning, to be compliant with the court order imposed on the Kennedy Center which required the name to be removed by the end of Friday. They must have been on good overtime pay.
