Actually, he more-or-less has.

gzt: Trump administration moves to eliminate programs for LGBTQ+ veterans:

https://www.advocate.com/politics/national/trump-abandons-lgbtq-veterans

Presumably that's initiated by Hegseth and his weirdo ideas about nearly everything.

Regardless of a veteran's persuasion, if they have served their country, then the government of that country has a duty to support them as a veteran as and when required.

Decent American's usually say "thank you for your service" to those who have served their country.

Which, to me, sounds like a glorification of violence.

No one says "Thank you for your service" to doctors or nurses.

This text looks like a quote from a psychiatric textbook.  The Don is seriously disturbed. 😳

Reading them, it's just struck me that he actually wrote the text on them. I was rather slow to realise that.

If the wall of photos remain commemorating past presidents, then the plaques should be replaced by ones that contain verifiable historical facts, rather than the rantings of an individual with a huge chip on their shoulder.

I think they're a fabulous reminder of his lunacy. A warning to never repeat this kind of idiocy.

Fair call. May be they should be moved to a suitable location in the future with other examples. Not his presidential library though.

They too, in the fullness of time will be removed. Just as the name on the Kennedy Centre has been corrected. I bet that has hurt the over sized toddlers pride.

Perhaps buried with him. After all there have been famous leaders in history buried with some of their prized possessions.

There was a group of volunteers forming to strip all the tacky gold trim from the oval office at the end of Trump's term. Those plaques could be added to their list.

I haven't seen the President's bedroom's bathroom, but I can guarantee two things: Melania hasn't even got a toothbrush in there, and Trump covered everything from the toilet to the shower in gold.

The only reason Trump wouldn't remove it himself is because he's in the Lincoln bedroom's bathroom, and chained himself inside so he can't be physically removed from the golden shower.

Wait I thought Trump said that is was never a war, so the pesky Congressional overnight was not needed, and the war was already over within an hour of its start.

There is still no indication that Congress has formally reviewed, approved, or been briefed on the agreement.

And despite all the exaggerated trumpeting, this is a ceasefire agreement, not yet a full peace treaty.

Any agreement described as ending a war would require Congressional involvement, at minimum through
  • briefings to relevant committees (when awake, Trump hates)

  • War Powers Resolution compliance (Trump hates)

  • appropriations or sanctions‑related legislation (Trump hates).
There is no record of such activity.

Somewhat buried in the announcement was this qualifier.

US, Iran reach agreement to end war, signing set for Friday: Reuters
...
"Iran's deputy foreign minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, said a more expansive agreement would be negotiated during a 60-day ceasefire period, including sanctions relief for Iran.

The fate of Iran's nuclear program, another thorny issue, will also be addressed in those later talks, sources previously told Reuters."
...

Iran's deputy FM has said the text will be published after the signing in Geneva

https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/us-iran-to-sign-peace-deal-on-june-19-hold-final-negotiations-during-60-day-period-11636681

Previous statements from Iran indicate they plan to continue charging a coordination and service fee for vessels transiting the strait. Trump says Hormuz will be open with no tolls. There is potential for problems.
