The BBC https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce8mv6l6eezo is quoting officials as saying the Strait will reopen on Friday.

From that report: "Senior US officials also began giving some details about the contents of the deal, briefing that the Strait of Hormuz would re-open on Friday - the same day the deal is formally inked in Geneva."

Presumably that is this Friday 19 June.

Until then, nothing much moves.

From what Ive seen on MSM, that wont happen as it needs to be mineswept, an option was mentioned to get Iran to manage the ships in its own waters, that seems doable. Although probably like moving a 6 lane freeway to one slow lane

George Conway vows to put Trump 'away for good' in bid for congress

Longtime Never-Trump critic turned Democratic congressional candidate George Conway is mocking President Donald Trump in a campaign video and a social media post  ...

Conway is running for a reliably blue seat in Manhattan.

Here's the ad they're talking about! (1 min)

I’m actually surprised that no one has clamored for the Nobel Peace Prize yet. 🎺😁

Perhaps FIFA can give him a second one as a special surprise at the closing of the World Cup.

FIFA could even create the FIFA Weekly Peace Prize, given out every Monday morning. That would keep a toddler happy.

I expect that every breakfast at a Trump household was ruined by little Donnie emptying all the cereal packets so he could 'win' the cheap plastic toy. So much winning!

AlterNet - Vance Reveals Trump Lied About the Iran Deal

And a good bit on The Bulwark about the "deal": https://www.thebulwark.com/i/202117679/bread-and-capitulation

The reality is that the war will close with the regime in Tehran intact and in the grip of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; the Strait of Hormuz will remain under the threat of Iranian attacks; Iran will continue to possess significant drone and missile stocks; the regime will maintain the capability to be a state sponsor of terror; and many sanctions will be lifted and billions of dollars in unfrozen assets will flow to Iran. In other words, the Iranians have achieved their key strategic aims—regime survival above all—while the Americans have achieved none of their own.

Indeed, the United States has perhaps done worse than gaining nothing. Iran, while temporarily weakened, is now an even more powerful political actor: The regime in Tehran stood up to a massive U.S. onslaught, survived, and then inflicted pain on various states in the Gulf as punishment for going along with Trump’s war. . . .

So much winning πŸ™„

I am far more worried about the people who fall for his tricks than about the master himself—and I don’t even mean US-Americans. Whenever a media journalist tries to explain Trump’s latest "tactic" to me, it is a surefire reason to change the channel immediately. I am so sick of this individual that I personally couldn't give a sh!t about paying higher prices as a result of his omnipresence, if it meant I didn't have to see or hear anything from him for once. The trouble is, not everyone can afford that. 🀨

So the Youtube Channel "What's going on with shipping" has discussed this recently.

I may have misunderstood him the Youtube presenter but I blelieve he put forward this idea: the "Trump's reality on the ground" is American flagged ships will get American military escorts. That's all.

Very likely. I'm fairly sure Trump made mention several weeks ago that if countries wanted oil tankers to sail out of the Gulf, then they would need to protect those tankers themselves.

PBS says that the Reflecting Pool cost up to $14 million to clean up.

Now this post https://x.com/bkovoDC/status/2066836681693565058 claims that workers are pouring bottles of hydrogen peroxide into the pool to try to keep the new water clean.

They could have saved all that money and just chemically treated the previous water, as they will obviously need to keep doing that going forward.

Or they could have kept the previous colour, which helped control algae.

The Alaska Native Inuit / Yupik / Inuktitut "Eskimos" do have multiple terms for different kinds of snow, (but not the exaggerated 100 words)

We really need stronger English words than "tacky", "classless", "vulgar", "gaudy" for Trump.

It's likely saying a red-warning (US Category 5) cyclone is humid.

May I suggest something along the lines of Trump, Trumpism or Trumpers / Trumpesque, as words to be used when describing Trump, his beliefs or his followers?

He and his ilk are completely in a league of their own.
