Four out of five living presidents, except the current horror show leader, attended the Obama Presidential Library opening (with a beautiful photo of all of them together):

If the current horror show leader doesn't wangle a third term and actually leaves office, hopefully if/when his library is built, no living presidents will attend, as the current horror show leader is not worthy of the title usually bestowed upon the occupant of that office.

A joke making the rounds in Washington DC.

"Trump always said the conflict would end with complete surrender. He just never specified who would be surrendering."

The nice change is some Republicans are expressing it out loud.

It's about time to start taking bets on how long it is before Demented Donnie is stood down from being POTUS. There must come a time when those around him decide that he is too much of a liability for them, for their careers and for their fortunes.

At the moment, people like you're describing are very much in the minority in the Republican Party, sadly - they're far too busy throwing themselves at him and kissing his robes so they can stay in his good graces for as long as possible.

I agree, that's why Demented Donnie is still at the helm.

However there's nothing wrong in trying to predict when he'll be removed. I think the way he's going it'll be within a year and likely before the end of the year.

Actually I'd like to see him do the full term. That way I think it's much more likely there'll be a change of party at the top. If he's removed early it gives time for Vance to make some tweaks that gets him over the line at the next election. Then we end up with another 4 years probably 8 years of crap similar to what we have now. Peter Theil and co will be very happy.

I agree with you but I don't quite think James shares the same charisma as the orange buffoon. Sure, people don't like Trump - but they like James even less. Which is quite bad for a vice president who might hope to run for president one day.

It's America's birthday soon...but Trump wants the focus to be on something (someone) else:

The NY Times - A President Using Super Glue ... Takeaways From a New Trump Book

18 June 2026

Extract from the book “Regime Change,” by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan ...

Trump can be a hands-on interior decorator.

Some of Mr. Trump’s construction projects in Washington are multimillion-dollar affairs, requiring workers in hard hats and towering cranes.

But one morning, Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, entered the Oval Office to find Mr. Trump personally making changes in décor.

The president had a tube of super glue in his hand, the book says, and was trying to adorn the marble fireplace mantel with new golden decorations.

As he was known to prefer his own aesthetic handiwork to anyone else’s,” the authors write, “the sight of the president squeezing glue onto gilded appliqués and mounting them on the wall himself surprised no one in his inner circle.”

Add to that, this opinion from a clinical psychologist and former professor at Johns Hopkins University, who fears Trump may want to start a nuclear war:

Trump, Nukes, I doubt it. There is little gold in it.

There is much more money in conventional weapons.
Protection money racket can't keep going if you one shot it.
Iran has seen how conventional weapons Trump Nukes in that you can use them.

They could stump Trump by giving it up, putting up a price on the nuclear material.
More money for fancier drones and conventional ballistics to threaten neighbors.

You can on again off again your war. Pump markets for insider trading with conventional.
Build Trump golf course and resort immediately on the rubble.

Your would be Trillionaire friends of convenience will kiss your ring, shower you with golden idols.
For there are more economic opportunities.

Italy's Meloni says Trump 'made up' story that she 'begged' him for photo at G7

Trump:

A big strong man came up to me, with tears in his eyes. He said "Sir, you tell the best completely made up stories that never happened. I hope you mention this one."

I really do wonder how history will treat Trump, and how his memory will be respected in 10 years time. I guess a lot will come down to how his remaining time goes, which is very uncertain in many ways.  But I think the people he surrounds himself with will retreat into the background once he is gone and people won't want to be associated with him.

Rubio is likely to survive and run for president. Vance is likely to give it a go. Expect Vance's wife to theatrically and miraculously convert to Christianity if Vance runs. Rubio is smarter and should probably win. Either of them might take vice spot for the other.

Vance is hard line. Out of the blue he is targeting Israel, why is that? It could be that he is honest and genuinely wants the best for America. Or it could be that he is aligning himself with Trump, mid terms approaching, US citizens hate this war and the cost they have to bear, let alone the billions of taxpayer dollars that have been spent for a loss. Might even be to run for POTUS!

Like Trump they have backed themselves into a corner, so lets remain dishonest and chase the votes...
