The Cuban descendant who rather round up his cousins...

Agree, I hope the voters see that in Florida. He is smart though, while this MOU unravels he is strangely silent. If it unravels badly, he is clean, if it unravels positively expect to see him front and centre.

tdgeek: Vance is hard line. Out of the blue he is targeting Israel, why is that? It could be that he is honest and genuinely wants the best for America. Or it could be that he is aligning himself with Trump, mid terms approaching, US citizens hate this war and the cost they have to bear, let alone the billions of taxpayer dollars that have been spent for a loss. Might even be to run for POTUS! Like Trump they have backed themselves into a corner, so lets remain dishonest and chase the votes...

Yeah it's more or less theatre. Trump has not denied one bullet or bomb for Netanyahu's ongoing reelection campaign. Vance is supporting the president that's what vice presidents do.

Netanyahu continues to both rely on and be pressured by Ben Gvir and Smotrich:

MEE: "Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called for a far more aggressive military response. "For every tear shed by an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry," he wrote on X. Ben Gvir said that "all of Lebanon should burn" and that Israel must make clear that "the blood of our sons and the security of our citizens are not up for grabs". Last week, Ben Gvir called for the kidnapping of Lebanese “women and youth” to put pressure on Hezbollah. Shortly after Ben Gvir’s statements, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on Israel to “open the gates of hell”,"

Trump says the Lincoln reflecting pool was vandalized:

https://edition.cnn.com/2026/06/20/politics/trump-reflecting-pool-vandalism-investigation

There will be an investigation. I somehow doubt they will be arresting the contractors responsible for the entire debacle but who knows..

The orange buffoon is not adverse to throwing James under the bus if it all goes south though: https://edition.cnn.com/2026/06/19/politics/vance-iran-peace-agreement

Trump, who has closely monitored Vance’s progress on Iran and frequently quizzed friends and advisers on how Vance and Rubio compare, semi-jokingly acknowledged the vice president’s bind during a Wednesday press conference.

“If it works out, I’m going to take the credit,” Trump said of the peace agreement. “If it doesn’t work out, I’m blaming JD.”

Quelle surprise! He blames others for his mistakes 🙄

Bookmark that next to Putins 3 day special military exercise, and Trump in a similar vein in Iran in 2025 and 2026...

It is a bit depressing when you don't know which administration to trust - both are fairly economical with the truth.

Flipping between MSM, and Iran Foreign Minister in Tehran, I am seeing some nice trends. USA wants peace, Iran wants peace, Israel doesnt. He said that Iran has an issue with Israel in Lebanon, and that Hezbollah also needs to play a part. While it wasnt stated, its clear that US needs to reign in Israel, while its clear that Iran can mange Hezbollah. In short, everyone wants a resolution, except Israel. Not late breaking news obviously, but if one nation operates as a barrier to literally every other country, they need to be isolated. Somehow.

That is so far wide of the mark to be nonsense if you are trying to claim you can't tell the difference between the Democrats and Republicans.

Do you also think that Fox News is "Fair and Balanced"? "Fair and Balanced" even redirects to Fox News on Wikipedia, not because it is true but because of the association.

I suggest look at False equivalence

Out of the recent presidential impeachments, Nixon, Clinton and Trump. Were they all equivalent? The reason Clinton was impeached over lying about his marital infidelity is because they could not find any thing else, and impeached by the likes of Newt Gingrich

During the time of Swiftboating of John Kerry where having served in active duty now counted against you compared to a draft dodger who hid in the National Air Guard organized by daddy.

It was also a time when having a nuanced messaging was problematic, because it required people to think to make up their minds. In general the Democrats appeal to reason where as Republicans target the lizard brain.

Who is the better custodian of the economy U.S. Economic Performance by Presidential Party

Carter was hounded over the fact that his peanut farm was managed by his brother. Where as Trump monetises the presidency in the open.

If you still don't know the one to trust, then I agree, it is depressing.

Sorry I meant Trump and co (and Republicans mostly in general) - I recall he held a record for the most lies told in his first term. On the other side, I'm not sure I fully trust the Iranian regime either; I used to work with a few people who left there after the Revolution in 1979 and they say that the information coming out of there isn't exactly what one might call factual.

My response was to tdgeek's post about the US and Iranian administrations; not the Republicans or Democrats. Since you mentioned it, Fox News is nothing but propaganda bs made for the MAGA crowd (an exception to the rule is Jessica Tarlov, who I think is quite good).

For the record, if I could vote in the American system, I would 100% be a Democrat; I wouldn't the Republican party with a bargepole.

To paraphrase Otto von Bismarck, the 19th‑century German statesman, "Laws are like the Washington reflecting pool; it is better not to see them being made.”

The small number of jugs seen being poured in videos would not come close to achieving algae‑killing concentrations.

Being kind, they'd need about 40X more jugs at least then was poured.

Birds would likely be OK at higher concentration, but any unfortunate frog would not be. Small fish do appear in the reflecting pool during high tide + heavy rain, and when dropped by fish.

During Trump's first presidency, that 2017 algae outbreak, hundreds of stranded fish and had to be cleared. They were killed by Senate Republican's "Skull and Crossbones" summoning ceremony gone bad.

And by the way, the decaying algae would likely not have a pleasant smell. Swampy at best, rotten eggs are worst.

You know .. that distinctive Trump smell :)

‘Bad Day to Be a Duck’: Trump Reflecting Pool Disaster Continues With Hydrogen Peroxide Treatment: Common Dreams
...
Michael O’Brien, a Washington DC-based primary care pediatrician, expressed skepticism that the plan to dump bottles of hydrogen peroxide into the pool would succeed in fixing the algae problem.

“Y’all, not to be a huge nerd but for the reflecting pool you would need a minimum of about 8,000 liters of 12% hydrogen peroxide to reach the 50 parts per million concentration to kill algae,” O’Brien wrote. “Is this what happens when you have zero scientists in your administration?”

Unjustly detained for two months by ICE New Zealander Everlee Wihongi has finally been released.

Released miles from home without her passport, Green Card or drivers' licence. B******S. Her family are making arrangements to retrieve her.

I wonder why the Trump regime doesn't make an official Secretary of Vice.
