His opposition are beginning to look like they're clutching at straws. It started with the protests, then SoCal threatening to leave the US ...

There really is no reason to be clutching at straws. There are enough hair raising things happening as it is.

If you voted for Trump, you might want to question how appointing "the swamp" (bank executives, lobbyist etc) is "draining the swamp". I would also have a long hard look at how he will do on the other promises that he has made.

Wether you voted for Trump or not, things like attacking judges that opphold the laws that the Trump WH are breaking does not show someone that has any regards for laws at all. Expect to see more of that coming from Trump. There must be quite a few conservative Republicans that has a hard time with Trumps "governance".

And then we have him lying about voter fraud. I would like to see anyone show any proof of the 3 million fraudulent votes he is claiming.

Oh, and I thought Republicans had a problem with flip-floppers. Just look at this 180 degree flops on things like China, Nato, United Nations etc. Not bad things in themselves, but its something that Republicans would have attacked like hungry wolves if it was a Democrat doing the same thing...

He's the most disgusting human I've ever come across. But my point is Americans wanted him and still want him. (Or at least half of them). Does that mean I'm disgusted at Americans? I dare not hold that thought ...

However I don't fear him. If he wants to destroy the world so be it, maybe then America would wake up ...

Almost half of the ones that voted. Somewhere around 20% of Americans in total.

But Trumps approval rating shows that the majority does not approve of him.

So the facts do not support what you are saying.

Edit: Oh, and the newest approval rating shows him at only 40% approval. I think we will see that trend continue.

I just find it staggering that 40% of Americans approve of his performance as President. That's a lot more than actually voted for him.

Look at the trend, won't be 40% for long...

I agree with you, I am confused as to how its possible for so many people to be conned like they were in the latest election. I saw this train wreck from miles away.

Maybe not, but I don't see him going anywhere.

Everyone predicting he will be out in 12-14 months (or less) are the same ones who said he'd never get the Republican nomination, and then said he'll never be President...

In today's world of short attention spans, I predict that the outrage will soon turn into quiet acceptance.

He's there for his full term.

Thats over the top. He is no worse than many humans, and better than many. And he won't destroy the world.

If I had to summarise him in one phrase, he doesn't dot his i's and cross his t's. For us, thats not great, for a POTUS, well, you know. Its very very bad and poor and so on.

The spy revolt aganinst Trump is bad but worse is reading that the intelligence community thinks Trump's too close to Russia and there are leaks in the White House that go directly to Moscow.

Essentially you are saying Trump is politically incorrect, and that's all.

There's a good hashtag getting around twitter at the moment, because of his signing things without reading, his 1 page briefings where he "likes maps and charts"  and, apparently, his inauguration poster has a typo. #TrumpCantRead

Pretty much. Brash, loud, doesn't think, decides "his" ideas are best without due consultation, so yes.

Thera are no ships from Japan, USA, China in the South China Sea. The banter over Russia, who knows. Its a lot of banter and fluff. Puffery in the advertising world. Aside from the affected Muslims over the ban, the damage is to himself, the US, the US political system. And many if the critics are American.

12 months. And its only been 3 weeks so far, not 9 months of so so leadership.

This article is from today's Daily Telegraph. It's paywalled, so I have copied an intro

Donald Trump has done very little to justify the hysterical rage which has consumed his critics
JOHN BOLTON
FORMER US AMBASSADOR TO THE UNITED NATIONS

'Keep Calm and Carry On” read the iconic Second World War morale-boosting poster. Faced with the existential Nazi threat to Western civilisation, it was a remarkably placid admonition to the British people, particularly in the days that Britain stood alone after Germany’s victory in France.

To listen to some of Donald Trump’s critics today, in America or abroad, you might conclude the West was facing another existential threat. These unhappy souls style themselves not merely Trump opponents but “the resistance” – evoking memories of the 1940s French underground. Yet urging them to “Keep Calm and Carry On” today would simply send them into greater paroxysms of rage and frustration.

Seriously?! I wouldn't trust John Bolton with looking after my drink at a bar... This is one of the guys that made the Iraq war possible. And a "UN Ambassador" that didn't think the UN should exist.

Will give it to the Republicans: They know how to make ironic appointments..
