Handle9: The Church of England was the Roman Catholic Church before the English reformation. It is the same organisation with a different name and a few different rules.

I don't wish to dwell on some extremely unpleasant religious history but it's fair to say the vast majority of the institutional practices of the Roman Catholic Church in England were literally destroyed during the reformation and in most cases with literal burning and looting of institutions. The religious changes themselves were dramatic.

In any case back to the topic. Catholic ministers were also involved in the treaty process.

Seymour's clownish and nonsensical claim that churches should go back to God is ignorant of the fact that churches and religion were intimately involved in the process leading to the signing of the treaty.

Brash is at it again. This time violating NZME photographic copyright and cobbling together two different quotes to imply Rotorua mayor Tania Tapsell supports his views:

NZHerald: The post also used quotes from Tapsell, which she claimed were misrepresented to “mislead” people into believing she was aligned with the political lobby group’s messaging. “You do not have my permission to use my image or comments to mislead the public that I support your campaign,” Tapsell said on Facebook in a response to the post on Hobson’s Pledge’s page.

Sounds like outright lawless robbery from the former governor of the reserve bank.
