One thing with this soap opera, the Press are going to so pissed if Trump gets impeached but the odds on that happening are very very low.
So will the TV comedy and talk shows..

Its a bit of a farce. What does that rhyme with? Umm. Pass, that's it...
Can I simply just say he's a PRICK.
Isn't Allen Frances doing the same armchair diagnosing that he is so critical of others doing?
I don't see him as mentally impaired. He is who he is, always has been like that. He can get away with that if he is the boss, or he has pull when making deals, but as POTUS he is not the boss of the USA, he is the leader of the governing party, and he is not the boss of the globe, he is a peer in the globe. All of which seems lost on him. The Cream will rise to the top and the lead will sink to the bottom
I know it's on Stuff so get your salt shakers ready. But this guy is a ******* ****** **** piece of work. Australias' Trump, more like Australias' sewer rat.

No, because he specifically says Trump is not ill, just the world's biggest dickhead.

Yes, but ...
Professor Frances is probably the ultimate authority on diagnostic criteria for psychiatric diseases.
In a sense, he didn't just "write the textbook" - he wrote all of them.
The DSM-IV criteria are used by every psychiatrist on the planet.
An Eminent Psychiatrist Demurs on Trump’s Mental State

... I wrote the criteria that define this disorder, and Mr. Trump doesn’t meet them.
... The antidote to a dystopic Trumpean dark age is political, not psychological.
ALLEN FRANCES
The writer, professor emeritus of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University Medical College, was chairman of the task force that wrote the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV (D.S.M.-IV).
EDIT: Basically Frances is saying that Trump is bad, not mad.

He also hasn't meet Trump in person to properly diagnose him, and can only speculate about levels of distress and impairment.
Allen Frances, of all people, should know that he can't make a definitive diagnosis based solely on what he has seen of someones public persona on television.
Those saying Trump is mentally ill have insufficient information to reach their conclusion, likewise Allen Frances has insufficient information to reach his.

The conclusion he comes to is irrelevant. If others shouldn't be making a diagnosis without ever having met and interviewed Trump, then neither should he - regardless of the conclusion he comes to.

I get your point but I think you are wrong. It is unprofessional to conclude that someone is mentally ill on the basis of public statements and actions, but illness can be properly ruled out on the same basis. If Trump is seen not doing something that is necessary to make the diagnosis, then you can safely say he doesn't fit that particular profile. It is like technical fault-finding. Only one thing causes the problem, but many things can be ruled out.
