An important presentation that everyone who cares about this may want to read. I urge you to do so:

Wow, what a powerful and thought provoking Time article. Pity only half of the US voters care.

Comparing Trump to fascists of the past is becoming a little hackneyed, but his campaign against the serious media does have some striking aspects: By undermining public trust and confidence in the media he doesn’t like, they become less influential and ultimately may even go out of business as they lose advertising or their subscriber base shrinks. Or they may start self-censoring to avoid his wrath. Once they are sufficiently weakened, they can be banned or forced to close or taken over with little public protest. The ones that remain then become part of the propaganda machine. I think this is how it happened in Germany and, more recently, Russia.

Why are you so rude to people? Yet on another forum you complain about people being rude to you.....Pot calling kettle....

When new levels of corruption, incompetence, and chaos set in as the Trump Era ripens, the other half may start to care ... but too late.

All US voters were losers in this election.   undecided

Depends on what you mean by rude. I think it is rude to accuse someone of 'a long list of overreactions', then refuse to back that up when asked for specifics. If you are going to criticise someone for something, you ought to be able to substantiate it. Unless you are Donald Trump, of course.

Wrong again, my comment regarding a long list of over reaction was NOT directed at any individual here, it WAS directed at the long list of over reactions by press etc.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

And what would that long list be? That is still my question. You made a critical comment about something I posted but you seem unable to explain what you were responding to.

What I posted was a quote. Apparently you disagree with it and lump it into 'a long list'. I would be curious to know what some other examples from that list might be, which would give us some basis for determining whether there is any sense in your comment.

I would also be interested to know what you base your apparent rejection of the quote on. If you read the article, and investigate the history of the author, I would say he sounds pretty credible. If you don't agree, then make your case or quit saying things you can't back up. Anyone can blow hot air, but it takes more than that to present a convincing argument.

IMO while there's probably some overreaction by some of the media, I'm disappointed that the mainstream media took so long and "held back" from calling it as it was long ago - in the early stages of the election campaign.

Apart from the long-term racism, misogyny, abusive behaviour - which appears to be taken by many apologists as "subjective" in a "hey we're all a bit racist/sexist aren't we" kind of way, and anyway "all this PC crap hinders free speech" blah blah - Trump is a dirty serial liar.

The MSM didn't start calling him a liar until after the election.  Far too polite IMO.

Yes, the press over reaction and tendency for soap opera could cause the general population to switch off which is a risk.

People, people, people. The real enemy here is Trump. Not the media,  not each other on these forums. He's the one seeking to divide and conquer.

I think some of you are falling for Trump's fallacy of "Enemy Media". The media in here is playing against an enemy of freedom and liberties.

Not falling for enemy media but drama media and pseudo media are turning it into a soap opera
