Two who come to mind as plausible contenders are Todd Muller Nikki Kaye

Meh. As long as the party vote stays as high as it is, there's no real rush to change. Ardern assumed control weeks before the election and the media was still infatuated with her when it rolled around. I suspect the Nats will continue as things are for a while yet, but expect that to change if the PV dips substantially.

Judith Collins will sense the carrion and wont be able to resist, her hubris will take over and she will force a leadership battle. She may win it but she will never leaqd National back to Government

So it's not okay to describe the opposition leader as a kicked puppy but no-one gets offended when a leading politician and a likely future leader of the opposition and - who knows? - a possible future PM is characterised as feeding on dead flesh? Methinks there is a major double standard at work here. Is our own right wing looking to the US Republicans for lessons in hypocrisy?

There is definitely a double standard here, no question. Polemy as you previously mentioned. Not in Mikes case. Sense the carrion is sensing that the leadership is dead, which is near enough, but not name calling IMO

I was referring more to those who jumped on my puppy remark but seem to have no problem with carrion eater.

I was the one who jumped on your "puppy" remark but have decided to refrain from further comment as it is very clear that regardless of what most people say and how constructive they say it you will want to politicise it. I am generally apolitical and have voted several ways over the years.

I jumped on your puppy remark because I am a dog lover through and through, not because of any political inclinations that you may wish to assume. If you are a carrion lover please dont let me stop you.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Sorry, but this is a political thread. Everything stated here is politicised. That is the reason these threads are in the political section.

+1  for the carrion comment which I bolded. Well done.

Simon Bridges looks like a man under a lot of pressure and stress which is not healthy and I hope he can ride it through. If I were him I would say bugger it this is not worth and a big percentage of the the voting public certainly are not worth  it and I would go to the beach. He can probably make more as a lawyer and be home for dinner.

Bridges has absolutely no redeeming features as a human being. The one thing that keeping him on as a politician does is that he won't pollute the justice system with his deplorable personal values whilst acting as a lawyer. It's impossible to have any respect for a guy who has been recorded offering inducements to Jami-Lee Ross to behave himself and go on leave etc following allegations of misbehaviour (in order to protect National) and then go on to describe himself as a man of integrity is beyond me. I couldn't care less what happens to Bridges.

I agree, maybe he is best suited as being a used car salesman

Don't be so harsh on used car salesmen! Even they don't deserve to be compared to Bridges.

Is this a reference to Cunliffe's mistaken "perma tanned" comments about Bridges?
