The Starbase facilities have suffered a lot of damage.
In one view of launch you could see very substantial lumps of concrete/steel
trying to beat Starship to space.

Only just got to the top frost line on the booster.

Suppose its excavated space for new launch mount and maybe a flame diverter, & suppressor.
Though they had parts prepaired to upgrade water supression they decided not to wait.

Tank farm also took some big hits.
So it might be a while before next launch attempt.

To those who don't follow this stuff, it may not be obvious from @ezbee's commentary but that's not damage from the explosion but from the launch itself. Elon decided that flame diverters and water suppression were unnecessary so the rocket functioned as a very expensive excavation tool to prepare the pit for the flame diverters that they'll presumably install for next time.

Yet another reason why SpaceX uses plane-off-a-cliff testing, to get Elon to listen to his engineers.

The stairs on in the left column give a since of scale.

I'd guess at a that's a 3 meter deep hole, and 75,000 KG of debris, or about the weight of 4 to 5 buses worth.

Three of the rocket's 33 Raptor engines failed to ignite at liftoff; Pure speculation but maybe damaged by flying debris?

Numerous commentators have pointed that out as well, if you watch the launch video two of the three are right next to each other suggesting a common failure mode and all are in the outer ring, so "struck by debris" seems a plausible explanation.

Looking at the stairs, you can see that there are at least three flights one above the other. The distance between flights has to be at least 2 metres, and more likely 2.5m, unless the stairs are designed for *very* short people. So I'm guessing the hole is more like 5m or 6m deep. So (assuming a hemispere hole) 250 cubic metres, so (assuming 2.5kg/L) 650 tonnes, so maybe 40 buses worth.

Looks like Jack Dorsey has launched his latest venture, which looks suspiciously like Twitter... I wonder if the Musk deal was an exit strategy for him, let Musk liquidate Twitter on his behalf while he starts Twitter++?

Still straying off subject, a more in-depth look at the crater that once was a launchpad.

Includes some scary boulders being launched next to the rocket.

Wow, Musk's simps wasted no time on tweeting calling Twitter's new CEO a "millionaire Marxist" and accusing her of being part the "New World Order" and the "Left wing cabal"

With Musk remaining in all other significant positions, except CEO, she'll just serve as a lightning rod / scapegoat / lackey. Her sole job will likely be spinning Musk's foolish decisions.

Business Insider: Some of Elon Musk's fans are furious newly appointed Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino chairs a World Economic Forum committee

Responses to Musk's tweet announcing the hire included skepticism from conservative users taking issue with Yaccarino's involvement in the World Economic Forum, as well as her work as advertising chief at NBCUniversal, from which she resigned on Friday.

Some spoke out about her previous comments praising NBC's efforts on diversity and social justice, and her stances in favor of masks and vaccines during the pandemic.

From that article I learned something I did not expect. Yaccarino is "Chairman of the WEF's Taskforce on Future of Work" and there is an influential Twitter user called "catturd".

SEC to Musk: usually for stock manipulation we would prosecute the unclean masses, but seeing as you're uber-rich we'll only say "naughty boy"

Gizmodo: Judge Says Elon Musk Still Can't Tweet Whatever He Wants

Elon Musk has once again lost a court battle over his right to shitpost unfettered. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City has rejected the billionaire’s bid to end his 2018 agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission that mandates legal oversight on some of Tesla-related tweets.

Musk’s request to overturn the more than four year-old consent decree had already been struck down by one federal judge in New York District Court in April 2022. But the multihyphenate CEO filed an appeal, which was rejected Monday. In the new ruling, three additional judges have denied Musk’s bid to sidestep SEC oversight and accountability for his posts.

We have considered Defendant-Appellant’s remaining arguments and find them to be without merit. Accordingly, we AFFIRM the judgment of the district court,” the three-judge panel wrote in their Monday filing. In accordance with this ruling, Musk is still required to have a Tesla lawyer review certain content he wants to post online, or face potential investigation and consequences.

Which means even owning Twitter hasn’t freed Musk from legal restrictions on his tweets. Though he may be Twitter CEO (at least for the next few weeks until Linda Yaccarino presumably takes his place), Musk remains beholden to powers even beyond that of “Chief Twit.”

CNNUS Virgin Islands subpoenas Elon Musk as part of lawsuit into Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking ring

The US Virgin Islands has subpoenaed Elon Musk, requesting documents from the billionaire for the government’s lawsuit alleging [the bank] "JPMorgan Chase" benefited financially from Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

The petition to serve the subpoena does not implicate Musk in any wrongdoing and merely indicates that he was a high-net-worth individual whom Epstein may have introduced to JPMorgan Chase.
...
The subpoena is requesting all communications between Musk and [the bank] "JPMorgan" regarding [underage sex trafficker] Epstein or any role the disgraced financier played in the Tesla CEO’s financial management.

The subpoena also requested any documents regarding fees paid to Epstein or JPMorgan, or any documents regarding Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.

Epstein was found dead while being detained in 2019. A medical examiner ruled his death a suicide.
