The CCP charm offensive continues.

China's menacing message to Winter Olympians

""
China’s ugly warning to Winter Olympics athletes that any political statements or behaviour from them will face “certain punishment’’ is chilling.

Plus your phone must have tattle tale app

""
The app also has a feature allowing users to report “politically sensitive’’ content and a currently inactive censorship keyword list triggered by references including the region of Xinjiang, Tibet and Tiananmen Square.

Good luck finding a human rights lawyer or any lawyer if you fall foul of them.
Ok once you are convicted you might find you share a prison with human rights lawyers, but not much use at that point.

China has hated Canada since they arrested that top executive of Huawei last year.

I'm not surprised they're lashing out at Canada.

Who doesn't like Canada?

Global News Canada: Reality check: Could mail from Canada to China spread Omicron?

Chinese health authorities have claimed that the highly transmissible Omicron variant of COVID-19 may have arrived into the capital, Beijing, via a contaminated letter from Canada — an assertion dismissed and questioned by Canadian experts.

The Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control (BCDC) said in a news release Monday that its first case of the Omicron variant in a Beijing resident could be the result of international mail sent from Canada via the United States and Hong Kong.

Canada, well not Chinese people specifically, have hate for Canada.
CCP ( The 6.5% if you are generous ) certainly not in favor of any nation supporting human rights.
A functioning democracy being a key human right that assures the others.

So We chat, they Chat everyone chats, except Australia's Scott Morrison

I'm not sure if you actually read that article. It states Morrison created the account using a third party agency because WeChat terms allow only China nationals to create accounts. The consequences of Morrison's decision to use the platform at all seem kind of obvious.

I concede your point re the CCP required rules to make this private business not for foreigners.

Though that is a point in itself that this should be so. :-)

However Chinese do invite business colleagues and friends overseas to join and help them do this.
So it seems a commonly ignored rule that the platform has not policed much ?

Wechat is surely not unaware of the foreign politicians on the platform to message local chinese voters,
and could have advised them if it cared.
Its not like its under a fake name nor that the association to a real famous person was hidden with 70K followers.

Wechat has been developing international business, and there is a process of foreign business to join.

He may have even been invited by the person who provided their ID as the backing.

It was not just simply cancelled, a more correct response.
