^ what's even worse is that person is (supposedly) a doctor, who should be a health professional you can trust.

Two more, this time in South Canterbury - specifically Ashburton: https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/local-body-elections/129717626/ashburton-mayoral-candidate-wanted-to-sue-government-for-5m-for-covid19-business-infringements the guy running for mayor actually wanted to sue the Government for $5m (lol) over the traffic light system.

Re the second candidate, while I don't claim to know what the young woman's ethnic background is, in my life that's the first time I've seen a moko on a person of Pakeha appearance - but then again I could be totally wrong and she could be part Maori, for all I know. Apologies if that comes across as racist - it's not my intention.

When you ask a candidate whether she's part of Voices for Freedom | Stuff.co.nz

When I asked her a few times, Chamberlain said she was a member of VFF, but said she thought it was irrelevant and asked me not to publish it. She was only a member for the podcasts and the camaraderie, she said. Would I bother to publish her affiliation to a gardening club?

Thanks for keeping this updated, would it be useful to pin this thread to the top of the Politics forum?

This is a really useful site: https://policy.nz/2022

Just enter your address and it shows you a list of all the local body elections in your area this year, and all the candidates standing, as well as a bio (if provided).

Brilliant thanks it’s helped make up my mind.

...to NOT bother voting for the first time!

Anyone who got in here previously was not worth my time!

Have even had face to face meetings with Community Board Members which achieved absolutely nothing, except a waste of my time!

The current lot appear to be even worse!

If you don't vote against them, someone might vote for them. And the results will be worse for everyone.
