It’s all hot air, and I bet Tehran will even manage to reach its 100th official announcement with him. After all, that’s only about four months away. Anyone who gives him a platform for this is even worse than he is.

I hereby officially propose that the term "deal near" be legally enshrined as a valid, statutory guarantee of failure. 😎

What a pathetic joke... a loose MOU is supposed to be a binding legal contract? We’ll see each other here again in three weeks!

They lost the war, Iran is back to what was before, with even more money in the bank.

He also wondered if Netanyahu was wearing suit, asked why he never said thank you and pointed out that he did not hold any cards.

Iran and Oman have seemingly agreed on a trade route to open the Strait. Based on no interference by third parties, which is obviously Trump/US

It makes sense. Regional discussions over a regional issue. Doesnt concern the US as Trump has already stated it doesnt affect the US as we have plenty of oil. I should add the ...

Trump, thats a fail, it affects his personality. Id love UK and EU to join in

The elephant in the room is US, I mean Trump, removes his blockade. Like many past US wars, its another fail

While I have no sympathy or support for Iran, they are the victim. As is Gaza from the same attackers. Or in the US case, supportive of the attacker.

In the very recent past, Iran was not favoured by most Gulf nations, but they had a detente relationship. We dont agree, but we are neighbours, lets get on. How often has Iran blocked the strait before Feb 28? None as far as I am aware.

I have little doubt that re the nuclear issue, if Iran's neighbours (excluding Israel) and EU and UK, and others, I am sure they can find a "deal" If Iran can state we want civil nuclear only and will accept checks, that is a win. As long as the US is not involved

The key, is US is not involved

Iran Attacks Part II,  'The Rise of Houthis' again

Trump declared Red Sea victory and left like a 'dog satisfied with the wet patch on a lamppost'.

Houthis marshalled their forces, seem to have had little trouble arming up.
Opposition being split by some argie-bargie, UAE and Saudis favoring different opposition forces.
This gave Houthis a weakness to exploit with the 'eye of cardboard cutout Sauron' elsewhere.

Houthis now capture most important port for Yemen on Red Sea, and Islands in the narrow channel.
This has also given them a ton of very nice new equipment and munitions.

They may go further but certainly from here blocking the Red Sea is even easier.
Trump and Hegseth low on spare carrier groups and resources to provision them.
Being a bootless military.

For icing on the cake of American led folly, Houthis have attacked vulnerable pumping stations on the pipeline to Saudis Oil port on Red Sea.

Petrol prices on the way back up, American strategic oil reserves getting ever lower.

Who Knew?

This is Crazy! Houthis have Captured Strategic Islands! One More Strait is Blocked

The US SPR is down to 285,360,000 barrels as of 4th September. That is the lowest it has been since 5th November 1982 - the US SPR was initiated in August 1982.

Given oil price rises in USA Trump can't release enough strategic oil to dampen the market.
Now the Strait of Donald Trump, and Don Jr Sea are both cut off.

There is what happens to oil prices when USA has to start refilling that reserve?
So OPEC can look forward to long term systematic high price level.

( So woke green technology for energy resiliance of countries that have only modest chance of striking a minor gas reserve?  Maybe we need a bit of woke infrastructure to survive and live well as we go to vote? )

Ok that's foolish lets just rush towards long term LNG facilites rental and power levy future. :-)
Hardly inflationary.

Perhaps that graph needs updating to include oil currently below the ground in Venezuela after the recent deal done to effectively call those 300 billion barrels US oil?
