Healthcare: why is so hard for Conservatives to admit a single universal healthcare is better than insurance-managed healthcare? Oh, because they think poor people should be responsible for their own needs so to not overload the state. Sure...

Puerto Rico: It took Trump a week to recognise something is happening, all the while spouting crap about NFL players protesting something else. Then he says he can't send help to Puerto Rico because there's no way to get to the Island, because there's an ocean around it. Oh, are these hispanic and can't vote in federal elections? Who cares then, right?

I am really disgusted by his actions. I am even more disgusted that some people can't seem to come around and say "He's denying US citizens the help they need, so he should be impeached for not doing his duties".

Trump's family uses private email accounts to conduct government business. But oh, HER EMAILS!

Read this comment on Fark.com about the disastrous non-existent Puerto Rico response:

You know, I don't think he cares but I really don't think the response to these storms is because of that. I think he REALLY DOES NOT KNOW. He doesn't know what his responsibilities are. He doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing. There is no template for his job and he's so intellectually lazy that he WILL NOT learn the intricacies. He was watching the storm on FOX News like everybody else waiting to see what was going to happen and who was going to do something. He doesn't know that HE'S the someone who needs to be making disaster plans. He wishes that he could have left THIS part of the job with Obama. He's good with the talking about shiat and signing shiat but the actual work? He could live without it.

CNN on Puerto Rico, 29 Sep 17

Trump should be issuing daily reminders that Puerto Ricans are American citizens. A recent poll suggests that nearly half of all Americans don't realize that the islanders who are facing starvation, disease and worse, are their fellow citizens. That ignorance has consequences: The same poll found that people who don't understand the citizenship status of Puerto Ricans are less likely to approve of the idea of providing aid to the island.

... And it's important that Trump avoid resorting to inane, self-congratulatory political happy talk at a time when hundreds of thousands of people are grappling with death, thirst, sickness and more.

Unaffordable basic healthcare is great for military recruitment numbers.

Trump has three disaster areas.

Two are in "Bush" country, and traditional Republican strong-holds, and key to winning any Republican presidency.

One can't vote in presidential elections. It has no senators and its representative in the House of Representatives is a delegate with almost no voting privileges.

Here's an article

"Why Puerto Rico Is Not Trump’s Katrina

This crisis isn’t a PR disaster for our president because, frankly, we don’t expect any better of him at this point."

Now Trump is saying the Mayor of San Juan is claiming they are not receiving help and saying mean things about him because the Democrats told her the only way to get help is to do this.

What a fucktard.

Trump's tweet:

He's not sane, not presidential, and not a leader. Dirty scum.

Someone asked me on Twitter why I post so much about US politics and little about NZ politics.

First US is a deeply divided country going in a downward socio spiral. Second their behaviour and actions can impact the whole world - even us here in New Zealand. Probably more than what Winston Peters can do.

Also because they currently have a megalomaniacal racist mysoginist liar authoritarian President.

Twitter should really suspend his account if they want to be consistent with their hateful conduct policy.

His blocking of users critical of him is also unconstitutional, his lawyers apparently argue that it's not, as those users can access his twitter feed "by other (than their usual) means".

OTOH - his twitter feed is a direct insight into his sick mind, without it I guess we'd know less about how unhinged he truly is.

And also the threat of a nuclear war sparked by a boneheaded tweet is actually quite credible. So having Trump in office is definitely the world's problem. Sadly we're relying on a broken, partisan political system to fix this. He should've been removed from office months ago.
